Korean BBQ restaurant is a family owned and ran eatery in the downtown area of Kitchener. This quaint establishment is clean and friendly. When you walk in you're warmly greeted with a smile. The menu has great options while not being overwhelming. During a trip to Kitchener I frequented this restaurant 3 days in a row, while being remembered by the owners each time, because of how amazing the food was. I tried multiple dishes each day and was truly blown away but my favorite was the soondubu/tofu stew. The jjajangmyun, jjamppong, shrimp fried rice, and tteobokki are all fantastic and I highly recommend. A friend had the pork belly and she said it was amazing. I will have to find an excuse one day to visit Kitchener again because of this spot. Wishing the best to the owners and their family. This place is truly a GEM. read more

This is a small, casual, family owned shop. The seafood pancake was good, with lots of cuttlefish and mussels, and I really liked the four tasty side dishes (kimchi, potato, bean sprouts). Other people seemed to be enjoying their sizzling meat, and there's also a fridge full of Korean teas and milk drinks. Steer clear of the sashimi bimbimbap though - I was craving sushi and thought this would help, but the fish chunks were completely frozen through, and I couldn't bite through them. Everything else was fine though, and since the options for Korean food are pretty slim in this area, this restaurant may be your best bet. read more

Pork bone soup $8.95 comes with rice bowl and small plates of potato, bean sprout, kimchi and possibly seitan gulteon fish strips not completely sure. All good. Warm tea included. Can't beat the value. read more

Lovely place and amazing staff. Family fun for over a decade (that I know of, could go much father back) and the owners are so polite and courteous. The menu is straight forward no matter your level of diversity, and the food is absolutely delicious. If you work downtown and can get there in a few minutes, then I recommend some chicken teriyaki take out. Overall, I would say that the korean food here is not bad. Since I have had better korean food in terms of taste and authenticity all over the world (e.g. Sura in Vancouver), I can only rate here a 3 star. That doesn't mean that I won't be a repeat customer though. read more

It's really small, almost hole in the wall, although there are tables and seats for probably 30 people. Easy to miss, it is on the second level of a small plaza/mall directly across from Morning Glory Cafe (don't you just love that name). You won't get gourmet korean food here. It's basically like home style Korean food. The lunch combos are cheap and portion size is large for the price. Quality and taste are reasonable. I think I may have just ordered a wrong dish. My jampong was pretty disappointing. There were very little noodles in what is supposed to be a seafood noodle soup. I thought for a second, 'is this just the soup? where are my noodles?' Stirring the bowl with chopsticks, I found some very thick udon noodles but I could finish them in one or two scoops, and mind you I'm a small eater. They must have run out of the noodles or something. In terms of taste, it was super spicy and seafood didn't taste very fresh. My hubby's bi bim bop looked amazing and tasted great when I sampled two spoonfuls. Service was sporadic as the server and two cooks were eating at a table, too. At least they eat their own food. I don't think Korean-Chinese dishes such as jampong and jajangmyun are their specialty so order just Korean dishes such as bi bim bop or bulgogi or Korean BBQ. read more

Having been to many Korean restaurants around the world, I can am honestly say that this small mom and pop establishment is close to, if not, the best one. Every time I'm in the KW area, this is a mandatory stop. Everything is prepared fresh, flavours are wonderful, price point is more than reasonable, and service is great. I highly recommend the gamja tang (pork bone soup), mandu (dumplings), and the pajeon (seafood pancake). However, I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu so don't be afraid to explore. read more

We've been going here for years and were impressed to see the Korean Ladies PGA Golf Pros came here during the Manulife tournament the past few summers. There are new owners so when we were there for lunch on the weekend we were very pleased that the food and sides are as delicious as ever. Highly recommend the dumplings. Noodle dish was excellent.
