We were in Waterloo for the day and looking for a spot to eat for lunch. We came across this Kimbap store with high reviews so we had to try! The shop inside is small but had some seating if you wanted to dine in. Staff were friendly and greeted us with a smile upon entering, very welcoming! You would order at the counter and I think you pick up your food as well, we didn't dine in so I'm not sure if they do table service. The Kimbap is made fresh to order so it took them 10-15 minutes to make our order. We had ordered 4 Kimbaps and a bulgogi cup bowl dish. The cup was a bit small for the price we paid ($17 before tax/tip) but the Kimbap turned out to be very large and filling ($13-$14 each before tax/tip for the tuna and bulgogi kimbaps). Although the Kimbap was large and colourful with a lot of nice ingredients, we found a few pieces kept breaking when we were trying to pick it up to eat. It didn't hold together as nice so it made the experience a little messy with the ingredients dropping out. For the price and the Kimbap not holding together well, I'm not sure if I would come back as often. I rather get it at H-Mart for cheaper or make it myself at home. The prices are before tax and tip so it can get expensive for only 10 large pieces of Kimbap. It's worth giving the spot a try though! The Kimbap did taste pretty good and staff are friendly. They do have other items as well such as the egg sando etc.

The food at LooBapBap was great. We had their cupbaps and an egg toast. The cupbaps were a good portion. The egg toast however is a little small. Besides the portions, the food was very tasty. The food came out very quickly and the person helping us was very accommodating. The decor in the restaurant is very simple, it was nice and comfortable to dine in. Overall it was great but the food is a little pricey.

I was visiting Waterloo as a day trip and decided to give Loobapbap a try as it was a solid recommendation from friends and was nearby. They primarily serve Korean snacks and meals like Kimbap, Bibimbap, and Egg Sandos. FOOD (3/5) For the 4 of us, we ordered the Bulgogi and Spicy Eel Kimbaps, as well as the Shrimp and Crab & Avocado Egg Sandos/Toasts. The Kimbaps were cut into 10 pcs each and had fairly similar filling with mixed veggies and their respective proteins. Both had their own seasonings and sauces but I thought it could benefit from more sauce to add to the flavour. The Egg Sandos/Toasts on the other hand were very saucy and flavourful. The crab was shredded imitation crab meat on top of half a sliced avocado. The bread in the sandwiches were nicely toasted and fluffy. I think it is a good amount of food but could each benefit from a side of banchan or something else. AMBIENCE (1.5/5) As it is a mom and pop shop there isn't much thorough interior decorating but the vibes were very familial. The restaurant was really clean and you can tell it is cared for. SERVICE (4.5/5) As most local shops do, the owners/cashier was super friendly and was patient as we were deciding what to order. Even though we grabbed our food and sat around the corner, she made a point to come by and ask how everything was. ACCESSIBILITY (4.5/5) Located at the bottom of a few student apartments on Lester minutes away from UW and WLU so I think really accessible for most in the area. PRICE (3/5) For what you get, I think the price is a smidge pricey. I think all menu items need some sort of side to balance out the meal, but not totally unfair. OVERALL (3.5/5) Loobapbap is a really great spot to grab some snacks and meet up with friends. I definitely recommend the Egg Sandos if you're prepared to get a bit messy. This is a good spot to consider but not something I would regularly crave.

Always happy to discover & support a family-owned business :) This Korean-owned WaterLOO shop serves Korean fluffy egg sandwiches, KimBAP, and bibimBAP. Thus, its name LooBapBap! I've tried their bulgogi kimbap which was large and in charge with tons of ingredients rolled into it! I've also had their Ham & Cheese egg sandwich (3/5), Bacon Double Cheese (4/5), and Crab Avocado (4/5). I noticed they use a special sauce in all their sandwiches...like a creamy poppy seed spicy mayo. It's quite nice!

Nice shop with amazing korean food. We got shrimp kimbap, melon milkis, and a hashbrown toastie. The food was genuinely incredible, I've craved it multiple times since going. The ambience is average, the shop is clean. The service is amazing. We had this one lady who was so sweet and engaged with us throughout our visit. We were originally going to order tteokbokki but she kindly informed us that it wasn't halal (which for some reason we didnt consider until that moment). I wish I got her name! I will definitely be going back! I want to try their bowls!

Yum. Found this small family-run spot thanks to fellow Yelp reviewers. It has a small, simple menu but is robust enough for folks to try different things, including vegetarians and pescatarians. We tried 4 of the Kim Bap - my favourites were the dragon and veggie but honestly I'd order all of them again - clean and tasty. Our family also shared the crab and avocado egg toast. Soooo good, but warning: super messy (ie don't order this if you're on a date) and it's not pescatarian, there is a slice of ham in it . Rookie error, I know. Very friendly service too. Can't wait to go back!!

I've only been here twice, but so far it has been really good. My friend and I got the teokbokki, rice bowl with pork, and kimbap, which were all delicious. The people who works there were also very nice. They always ask if the food is to our liking.

It was nice to try a Korean take on sandwiches! The sandwich was filled up to the brim which was very satisfying. However, it was a bit disappointing to not be able to get a bite of all the ingredients at once as the sandwich was structured such that you could only taste one ingredient at a time. Overall, a very good experience as the restaurant team members were super friendly! The line was a bit long during peak hours (20-30min wait) but well worth the experience!

Since I love korean food, I tried loobapbap. Their egg toast is really tasty! The place inside is also clean and pretty good.

Fun hidden little gem on a side street off University. LooBapBap has a nice assortment of Egg Toast with delicious toppings. My two favorites were the shrimp Egg Toast and the Crab Egg Toast. The bread is buttery and soft and package so nicely. Service took a little long to make but I'm assuming it's because they make it fresh on the spot instead of having it sit out all day. Great service! The employees were so nice. Quite a small space but it wasn't too busy when we went around 6-7pm. The best combo is getting kimbap and tteokbokki. Getting a kimbap and dipping it in the tteokbokki sauce. It's a bit pricey though and we didn't get quite full with two kimbaps and a tteokbokki. read more

I love the variety of options near Waterloo University. They have authentic Kimbap and they also have egg sandwiches with different toppings. Customer service was great, even with a steady volume of customers, and the food was served fresh. I had the shrimp sandwich which was marinated perfectly. Note, there is only street parking available and limited seating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. read more

PamChi Bap: Delicious. I love the combo of warm kimchi, Spam with slightly crispy edges, fluffy egg and crispy kale. Tuna Kimbap: Also great. I haven't seen tuna kimbap at any other Korean fast food places in KW, which is a shame. read more

Ordered the crab and avocado egg toast and thought it was pretty good. Ordered in person at the restaurant and waited around 10 minutes. The bread was buttery and the egg was fluffy. The crab and avocado om top was great, wish I had spread it towards the bottom of the sandwich as after a few bites I only tasted the egg, ham and cheese. Rookie mistake I guess :) Also ordered a bulgogi kimbap but was on the dry side imo so will need to stick to the sandwiches on my next trip :) read more

I love this place!! Such a convenience place for students, run by a nice family who always is happy to help! I went to the soft opening all three days, and I've continued to come back! I believe everything is under $15 (very fairly priced in my opinion). The egg sandwiches are so delicious and they make the bread in house! The egg is so fluffy. The kimbap and bibimbap are both also delicious. Highly recommend!! read more

It turned into an embarrassing and disappointing experience. I am a retired Air Force Captain, a veteran of the Gulf War, and that evening I was joined by my brother and our spouses, we all choose to drink red wine. After enjoying dinner and ordering our second bottle of wine, a female manager approached our table to ask how we were getting home. I explained that my wife and I were staying at the Delta Hotel across the street and walked here and were walking back, while my brother mentioned that his daughter would be picking them up. Later, when we ordered a fourth bottle of wine to enjoy with dessert, the same manager returned and refused to serve us, claiming that it would amount to "one bottle per person" and could "put us over the limit." In all my 64 years, I have never been refused service ever -- especially while being responsible, polite, and transparent about our arrangements. Feeling insulted and unwelcome, we decided to take our business to the Delta Hotel, where we were treated with courtesy and common sense. Needless to say, SOLE will never see my face again, and I will make sure others are aware of how this restaurant treats paying, respectful customers celebrating a special occasion. Sincerely, Capt.
