Halifax Donair Pizza
Cin C.

Conveniently located at then side of the Market Road Antiques, Crazy Canuck offers an assortment of burger, pizza and poutine dishes to go. When we were there early August, there was no indoor dine in options but plenty of picnic tables or booths under the overhang. A minor annoyance was the amount of flies that patrol the area, so we got our food to go instead of fighting the black swarm at every bite. We ordered the Everyday Special, which is the Halifax Donair pizza and Garlic Fingers for $20. The pizza was a deep dish pizza with a roasted garlic puree base, pepperoni, and donair meat topped with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Great crust and bottom on the pizza! Loved the extra touch of raw onions to give a bright note to an otherwise heavy slice. The garlic fingers was basically another deep dish pizza but with a generous portion of cheese on top and slices into strips. Both came with a side of garlic donair sauce which was more sweet than garlicy, but it worked well as a crust dip. Next time I will probably go for something with more variety, as two pizzas are a little much for me.

This was our first time trying Canuck ribs. While it wasn't my favorite style, the meat was incredible quality! These ribs were one of the best quality I've had across the US and Canada. I would definitely suggest trying them.

Took 25 minutes to get this pizza... decent pizza... not sure if wait for this one again. But there is an antique place attached to this, so you can stroll around

Ordered the hot dog with poutine fries. Lots of food but it was just ok.

Not really what we were expecting. Order at a window and only a few tables inside. The girl taking orders wasn't very friendly and the food was just ok. Worst part about the experience were the flies. We couldn't seem to get them to leave us alone the entire time we were there.

Plenty of food and great service. We got the pulled pork with Caesar salad, baked hot dog with po boy poutine and also burger with regular poutine. Everything was good. Would recommend.

I had supper this evening at The Crazy Canuck (on Weber Street N). It's at the end of a big antique market. Some of the tables have themes ... mine was the Tragic Hip. I ordered the pasta special ... baked tortellini. I love baked pasta! This was a hearty meal and I couldn't finish the garlic baguette. It was cheesy and the sausage was a bit spicy. I'd get this again. Courtney was the server. She was very friendly and chatty.

What a fantastic place for social distancing eats. The food is fresh, you don't have to order too far ahead, the price is right with large portions, and best of all, the burgers and poutine have been delicious. I had the Best Burger in Town last time I got takeout which is misnamed... because today's Crazy Canuck Burger should hold that title. The kids loved their burgers too. Standard poutine was a hit.

Condiments and cutlery. I'm number 3!

I did some research before heading over to Waterloo for a brief weekend stay. This place was across from my hotel and had rave reviews. I headed over there for dinner. Traffic heading westbound to Waterloo on a Saturday afternoon was horrendous. I had worked up and appetite, and headed here upon my arrival. I ordered the baked hot dog with fries. It came with dipping sauce. So good! It was filling, cheesy, tasty, and perfect. You can either dine inside the restaurant, which is attached to the antique mall, or you can sit outside at wooden tables with benches. I went with the former, which has retro albums (records, some of which I own!) as part of the decor. I'd come back here for a hot dog and sample more more food goodness. (211)

Slooow "Fast" Food. Based on the timestamp on my receipt, a Standard Burger + upgraded to Classic Poutine took 30mins to arrive after ordering! To me, that's waaay too long of a wait for something so simple. Burger patty itself was pretty small. It's supposed to be 6oz, but it was closer to a 4-5oz. Bun was bigger than patty. As per the other reviewers, based on the portion, prices are on the high-side. Standard Burger was $12 + change, it included either fries/soup/salad. To upgrade to Classic Poutine, it was +$4 and there was barely any cheese curds. Somewhat of a tourist trap as there is no food available on the Antique side of St. Jacob's Market. And yes, you will smell like oil when you leave. :)

We had their hamburgers & pulled pork and was great. Fries and grilled chicken were "OK".

Delicious lunch: foot long hot dog, Caesar salad, pulled pork sandwich and a poutine.

Good food. Quaint little place that has decent variety and value. Worth a revisit when I'm back in town.

(Delivery order) Burger & poutine were solid. Generous serving of curds in the poutine, enough to last until the last bite of fries.

This little hidden Gem is a great place for your Poutine intake. The prices are moderate but…read morequantity and quality exceeds the moderate rating it gets. It really is a gem to be spotted or hunted down. Not only do they have poutine they have different types as well. I do not usually get a hotdog from any restaurant unless I am at Air Canada taking in a Leafs or Raptors game or at the Rogers Center. However I do enjoy it from Take 5 just taste great. They also do Crepes many types. Only down fall is that they don't do combos so you pay extra. There isn't any room to sit in so you have to do take out nor any washrooms. Parking is horrible nothing to do with Take 5 it's the owner of the building. They are only allotted 2 spots and 99% of the time are taken by other stores. The hair salon takes up most of the parking and if you park in the 1001 Nights Shawarma 2 spots they clearly have posted they will have your car towed away. Worse parking arrangements for any of those stores. The owner is a great friendly guy who takes pride in his food and his customers. His wife & children whom all work there are polite as well. The other staff he has hired are great as well. Only had 1 bad experience in the past which I know was rectified. Also they have had in the past had a promotion through Groupon were you paid $10 for $20 towards food. So always keep a lookout for that. Besides that I am not aware if they have any in store promotions or coupons from their website or in the Val-U-Pak that comes monthly or so. They are also BIG about being green and the environment. Well done Take 5 Eats hope your business grows and your around for a long time. https://www.facebook.com/Take5Eats http://take5eats.com

Had the pulled pork poutine. Pulled pork was on the dry side as the sauce was just spooned on top…read more Gravy was slim so the fries were kind of dry as well. $10 menu price but wasn't worth it.
