WHY I LOVE TUESDAYS! I live 2 hours away from the restaurant which makes it a little difficult to enjoy their incredible offerings on a daily basis. However, my office is 8 minutes from The Crazy Canuck ... and although I work from home 4 out of 5 days a week, Tuesday is my office day ... and that means that it's also The Crazy Canuck day! Freddy, Jeremy and their staff are incredible; always offering a warm welcome and a smile ... and if you're lucky you may even catch a joke or a trick! The food ... oh the food ... from creative puotines, scratch made pizzas and bbq delights, all the way to the far east for today's special, braised duck and pork belly udon, you will never be disappointed. ... and don't forget to order a Snowshoe, it's the perfect way to end your meal! Lastly and truly the least important to me (as I would gladly pay more) ... the prices are so much more than reasonable ... next to impossible to find such high quality for such a low price. read more

Club sandwich was awful. The chicken was still pink inside so we sent it back. Even after they brought it back cooked properly it was still mediocre. I was looking for Poutine from the get go so my options for a good not commercialized Poutine were fairly limited. But this place by my parents house was open on Thanksgiving Day and I got it to go last minute before they closed figuring I'd get the leftover fries and the dry meat.. Let me tell you, I got 2 heaping to go boxes, loaded with Fresh Cut fries, tons with curds, gravy and fresh smoked meat, topped off with a few ribs on the bone. Absolutely 5 STAR Poutine. I'll be back next time I'm in town. I can't speak for the rest of the food but the service guy was great and knowledgeable about the Poutines. Really disappointed with our lunch today. The quality was below average, terrible value for the price. Processed cheese on the burger, canned gravy that was warm at best and a pathetic looking tomato on the burger (should have taken a picture). When you pay almost $20 for a burger and poutine, the quality needs to be better. If your cheese curds don't melt, then you know it's not hot enough. Will not return. We came here for a quick lunch, on the advice of a salesman at the St. Jacob's Furniture house. Great find for lunch. My stepson had the veggie portabello za and loved it. The rest of us had a variety of burgers, absolutely delicious. Our only complaint was the cramped quarters and a somewhat confusing layout. We finally figured out that we had to order at the counter. Probably our fault for not being overly observant. However, it was well worth it for a filling of a good solid, if somewhat greasy lunch. We will return. read more

This place was an interesting find. It is just across from St. Jacob's. I ordered the poutine for $7, it was decent. The fries were handcut (but whether or not they were "fresh" is another story) The sweet potato bacon soup was a bit strange tasting. It was alright, but nothing stellar. I've visited the Crazy Canuck a few times, as I live within walking distance. Location wise, if you are shopping at the St. Jacobs market, it is very easy to access. I am fond of their poutine choices and menu from the grill. The food is pretty good overall. I left one star off as, prices are on the higher side considering the portion size and you may have to wait a long time for food. That said, the quality is above average. You may end up smelling a bit like oil because of the food cooking. Overall, I would recommend this location. The staff are quite friendly and they take pride in their food. read more

The most amazing poutine. That is reason enough to go. My ultimate frisbee team eats here ever year at the end of our annual trip to play in Waterloo and I can't imagine going anywhere else. The staff was very friendly. The food was good. I had the classic poutine, and somehow got a rib/pulled pork poutine. Sent it back and got a classic. It was a good poutine, a little less gravy and salt and it would have been better. My girlfriend got the pulled pork because of the reviews left on here. She said it was good, But not nearly as great as people were proclaiming. The ambience is terrible. It echos like mad so you find people constantly trying to talk over each other and it just gets louder, and louder, and louder. And the seating is very uncomfortable. I'm 6'4". And those captains chairs are not made for big dudes. If I were to go back it would be "to go". I like to be comfortable while dining. read more

Ok, if you want pulled pork pass on it here. Sorry to say it was very disappointing and I wish I had had a burger, hear they're tasty. I've eaten a lot of pulled pork over the years from many states and countries but I hope that was just a bad day. It was like mush and had a burnt taste, pulled pork isn't usually dark brown should have been the clue. You should be able to see the smoked difference from the lighter inside meat color not dark brown all the way thru. Sorry take a pass pick something else on the menu. read more

We stumbled upon The Crazy Canuck after shopping at the market. It's a small space with a fun vibe and cool interior. There are album covers posted on the walls and tables and LPs across the walls. The menu is not grand but there's something for everyone. We ordered 2 chicken club sandwiches. They took awhile to bring out our food but it was definitely worth the wait! The chicken was tender and juicy and tasted like charcoal BBQ! It was fantastic! Better yet the fries...probably the best fries I've ever had! I took off a star only because seating inside is very limited and the menu was a bit difficult to read as it's chalk board and hand written. Other than that it's fantastic. Food was good. I had a wrap and poutine. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. Service was poor. At the counter the woman taking the orders was unable to answer any questions we had. Once we figured out the menu on our own, ordered and paid, she didn't help me bring my drinks or cutlery to the table even though nobody else was there. I put the cutlery in my pockets, and made multiple trips to our table. This would be fine, but the machine prompts you for a tip which I gave (%20) assuming I would receive some sort of service. You don't. I would eat here again, but treat the tipping system as you would McDonald's as the service concept is the same. If you tip at McDonald's, tip here. If not, then don't. This is not to say the food is the same quality as McDonald's - it's much better. read more

We were visiting family and looking for a place open on Thanksgiving. Pulling out my trusty Yelp app I found this place. We all got the bacon cheese burger and I had the poutine. The food was Miraculous the burger was juicy and the gravy was to die for. The service was great the lady behind the counter was friendly and checked on us often.
