The trivia host himself, Mike, was one of the people to suggest we go there. Once we got there, I was able to identify Mike and said hi as he handed us our trivia papers. He was great on the mic, dry sense of humor and moved a good pace with the trivia! We ended up coming in 1st place out of 4 or 5 teams! It's a relatively small inside space with the most beautiful patio looking out onto the course which has some of the best sunsets in the MV area! Our server was Ian who was very cool, laid back, and fit the vibe of the place. I work in the service industry myself and respect the hell out of a good server, he knew his stuff, our food came out right even with a few modifications on my friends entree. I highly suggest the steak tips and start with the sweet potato fries with Jalapeño aioli as an app for the table! THEYRE SO GOOD. The golf course itself is beautiful and upstairs from sandtrap is another restaurant/bar called "Parlay" - beautifully decorated, so much sunlight coming through, definitely a place I'd love to check out in the future! If you're looking to switch up your Tuesday night routine or just looking for a fun date spot, check out Sandtrap and don't forget to step outside for the beautiful views!

You wouldn't think it by the name, but Martha's is a Lebanese restaurant with a great menu that won't overwhelm you. The owner and his staff are extremely friendly and overall just wonderful people. I went crazy and ordered the Steak Shawerma, 3 piece Falafel, baba ghanouj and hummus. The steak shawerma came with rice pilaf and a garden salad and was so good that I'll be going back to try their chicken one. The falafel was perfect. It wasn't oily and had just the right amount of flavoring and crunch. The baba ghanouj and hummus were to die for. I seriously had to keep myself from eating the entirety of the containers. They are currently remodeling the dining area so I can't comment on the ambience, but for what it's worth I like the quaint look of the place from the outside and the ease of ordering from the window. I'm a stickler when it comes to Lebanese food, but I'm so happy to finally find a Lebanese restaurant so close to me that it has officially become my go-to place for Lebanese food from here on out! I highly recommend Martha's as your next place to eat!

About a year later, I found myself craving authentic Mediterranean food again, so I started searching for restaurants around New Hampshire. That's when I came across Ayasofia. As I looked through the menu and photos, everything seemed so familiar--it reminded me of the dishes I had loved at Mediterrano. The next day, my husband and I decided to drive an hour to Salem to try it out, and it was completely worth it. After speaking with the owner, we learned that Mediterrano had actually been owned by a member of his family and that they use the same recipes. It all made perfect sense! The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, even encouraging us to return and meet his mother, who taught him these recipes. I highly recommend the hummus, baba ghanoush, salsa, and grape leaves--they're all fantastic. Be sure to order the lavash bread on the side, as it pairs perfectly with everything. For a main course, the adana lamb kebab is a must-try. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and full of flavor. I only wish I could cook like this--I'd happily eat Mediterranean food every single day!

My husband was particularly excited by how the rice was made. The grape leaves were good and the dinners came with the red cabage and salad. Delicious. I also got the Raki, because I was having Turkish food, but all the cocktails sounded very good. We did not sit in the bar, but they sounded like they were having the time of their lives in there. At one point Rod Stewart came on over the speakers and you could hear them shouting "ROD!!!" I was like, shit - Turkish food AND the regulars love Rod Stewart? Sign me up! And it seems I wasn't the only one who discovered this hidden gem. When we got here, the spot was packed inside. Despite this we ordered three different items for a sit-down experience, and still received everything within 25 minutes. I ordered the lamb shawarma wrap on one occasion, and it was love at first bite. The wrap itself was toasted to a perfect brown crisp on the outside, yet retaining softness underneath, where it encapsulated the ranch-like sauce where it mixed with the sliced lettuce, carrots, onions and tomatoes to give it a well rounded, mixed, creamy flavor of the vegetables. The lamb meat itself was the primary vehicle of salt and spice (with emphasis on the garlic), yet never being dry. All this being considered, the wrap never fell apart, and held together the entire journey. I made the mistake of ordering the lamp wrap my first go here, because the next occasion I came here, I got the chicken shawarma bowl. Although the rice, sauce, chicken and vegetables all inherited the same flavor profile as the wrap, the bowl fell wildly below my expectations as it was impossible to get a truly full bite of every single thing utilizing a small fork. Nonetheless, this is truly the spot for a reliable bite that emulates a small taste of the Middle East.
