I may have one or two on my husband's phone that I still need to pull. Now, let me tell you...this place is amazing! And it was even better because our server RICO (UPDATE: I figured between the five of us, someone remember Rico, right? I just wanted to make sure I gave credit where credit was due.) He gave us just the right amount of attention without us ever having to ask twice--or even once! He kept our drinks refilled and checked in to see if we needed anything else. That kind of service makes such a difference. The interior is unique and really cool. I especially loved the idea of hanging a full-size motorcycle from the ceiling. Definitely a great conversation piece! We had a party of five, and all five of us ordered something different, ranging from a chicken salad to tacos, hush puppies, and, of course, my Chopped Brisket Sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I'm already drooling again just thinking about it! The brisket was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, with just the right amount of seasoning. But let me talk about those sweet potato fries... THE BEST sweet potato fries I've had so far! They were crispy on the outside and actually tasted like sweet potatoes. I've had sweet potato fries at other restaurants that were soggy and tasted more like frying oil than sweet potato. These were completely different--crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I 100% recommend them! So, if you're in the Charlotte area, do yourself a favor and stop by Mac's Speed Shop at 2414 Sandy Porter Road. Great food, great atmosphere, and phenomenal service. I would definitely go back!

James, the host, welcomed us with such a warm smile that, even though I'm visiting from Dallas, I immediately felt right at home. That kind of genuine Southern hospitality is hard to find and made the experience even more memorable. The food was phenomenal, and the mac and cheese tasted just like something Big Mama would make--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Every bite reminded me why great barbecue is about more than just the meat; it's about comfort, tradition, and hospitality. If you're looking for authentic BBQ, amazing comfort food, and service that makes you feel like family, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be back!

It's never a win on both. The best thing I've had here so far is the strawberry French toast--it's actually really good. Unfortunately, the worst thing I've had was the waffle portion of the chicken and waffles. The waffles were so hard that I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent them out, and I can't believe I actually tried to eat them! I really want to see this place succeed, but they definitely need to work on consistency, especially with both the food and the drinks. There's potential here, but unfortunately, my experiences so far have been more disappointing than enjoyable.

That's like charging $10 for a small shot of Hpnotic, especially without notifying that it is that much of an additional charge. Upon Google review, "A $10 upcharge for a shot of Baileys Irish Cream in an espresso martini is unusually high. Normal liquor and modifier upcharges at restaurants generally range from $2 to $6. The Modifier Premium: Standard bars charge $2 to $5 to add a splash of liqueur. The Standalone Pour: High-end lounges often lack a dedicated "modifier" button for premium liqueurs in their Point-of-Sale (POS) system. The bartender is forced to ring up a full 1.5 oz to 2 oz pour, which carries a baseline lounge price of $10 to $14."

We started with the hush puppies and raw oysters. The mignonette was really interesting, chunky with apples (I think?). It wasn't really my thing personally, but definitely unique. The hush puppies came out HOT and crispy with a honey sauce. You can also get them dusted with cinnamon and sugar, which I thought was a fun option. For lunch, I went with the pecan crusted catfish with oven baked mac and cheese and collard greens. The catfish was SO crispy but still delicate inside, and that pecan topping was delicious. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy with a bubbly, crunchy top. The collard greens were perfectly seasoned. Sometimes collards can be way too vinegar heavy, but these had a really nice balance. Everything came out HOT, which I always appreciate. Really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere here!

The restaurant had tables, should you desire to stay there and eat. It was clean for the most part, from what I could tell, having left my glasses in the car. I asked a couple of questions and then placed my order. It didn't take long for my food to come out. The food smelled absolutely amazing. I got the food home and started tasting everything I purchased in the pictures below. Personally, I did not care for the vast majority of the meals. The fish & chicken were so hard and dry that they were like the Sahara Desert. It was flavorless, as were the vegetables. They tasted like they were fresh out of the can. I won't be going back there again, but if I did, it would only be for the mac & cheese, potato salad, and the roll. Not that they were delicious, but they were far better than the rest of the food on the platter. It's a NO for me.
