    Grilled Buscuits

Two words: Grilled Biscuits most authentic and charming ambiance. Great quality food, unmatched customer service. Feels like going to a friend's house for breakfast. Sara the owner is super friendly.

This place I liked very much. Reminds me of back home. Just some nice, country folks having a good southern meal. The servers were nice. The food took a while to come out. The scrambled eggs were a bit undercooked and the gravy had a whole jar of pepper in it, at least that's how it tasted, I couldn't eat it. Hash browns and biscuits were bomb though. Overall, I will come back here... you need country cooking every now and then.

Biscuits (never had them fried but always will from now on!), omelette, smash plate with eggs and livermush. All excellent.

Excellent breakfast! Stopped in because it was local to where we were and turns out it was a great choice! Loved the food and server was kind and attentive. Breakfast portions were huge and delicious! Bonus was the merchandise - bought the kettle sweatshirt.

Perfect! Corn beef hash well done

This is my new breakfast spot in pineville! Great service, great food, what more can you ask for? I can't wait to try other options. The corn beef hash is exactly what I wanted it to be! Perfect! I'll be back!

Read the reviews and took a gamble. SO GLAD WE DID! Don't the the unassuming exterior fool you! We enjoyed a warm atmosphere, welcoming staff and BIG PORTIONS. Buy a sweatshirt for $20 and advertise for this family owned business, I did. Bacon Smashpot Club Sandwich Livermush

It's not a great neighborhood, surrounded by industrial properties and right off the Interstate. Still, it's a classic and the food probably hasn't changed in forty years. "Comfort" options abound. Prices are quite reasonable, too. I took a seat at the counter and enjoyed a bit of cable television with my meal. I never did find out if Maverick was able to help that nice newspaper lady. I ordered a cheese omelet, which came with toast and home fries. Interesting potatoes, which were closed to mashed and then grilled. Good, but different. Omelet was a good portion. Lots and lots of coffee. I'll be back to the Kettle, no doubt.

Very nice little quant place . Was greeted immediately by the lady at the front door. The waitress sherry I believe was awesome. She remembers orders and they are extremely family oriented . We ordered a vegan breakfast burrito and they happily accommodated and the flounder plate . The whole breakfast was under $25 bucks including beverages. I highly recommend visiting !

OneSixty Kitchen and Cocktails delivers an unexpectedly upscale experience in a modest strip mall…read moresetting, proving that good taste does not need a trendy zip code. Tucked into a retail plaza on Shopton Road, flanked by a dental office and a Goodwill, OneSixty feels like it has been airlifted in from a more polished part of town. The interior is sleek and inviting, with a lounge-like ambiance that sets the tone for elevated dining without the pretense. Mrs. K. and I arrived early, around 6pm, and were greeted with warm, attentive service that never felt rushed or performative. Her shrimp skewers were beautifully grilled and generously portioned, and she graciously let me sample one--delicious, with a subtle char and well-balanced seasoning. My Buffalo wings were meaty, spicy without being overwhelming, and served piping hot, which is exactly how wings should be. What stood out even more was the bartender's easygoing approach to crafting a non-alcoholic cocktail. No raised eyebrows, no shortcuts--just a genuinely pleasant drink that felt as considered as any mixologist's signature. It is a small gesture, but one that speaks volumes about the restaurant's inclusive hospitality. And speaking of small gestures, do not miss the whimsical signage on the restrooms. It is a playful touch that adds personality to a place already brimming with charm. OneSixty might be geographically distant from Charlotte's nightlife hubs like South End or NoDa, but it is carving out its own identity in Steele Creek with style and substance. Whether you are a local looking for a refined night out or a visitor curious about one of Charlotte's quieter corners, this spot is worth the detour. What I found interesting was the additional charge for substituting gin for repo in my drink when neither were top tier premium alcohol. Anywho, the salmon bites flavor was cool but the amount you get is minimal and the size of the bites are miniature. I came, I saw, I won't be back.

It's one…read moreof those comfort foods I don't eat often because it's so rich--but when I see it on a menu, it absolutely catches my attention. That's exactly what drew me to The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. Here in the South, they call it country fried steak, and I'm happy to report this one did not disappoint. I met a colleague there for lunch, and everything about the experience felt easy from the start. The restaurant is located in Phillips Place, a lovely little shopping area that feels a bit polished and upscale--with shops like Orvis, Tory Burch, and even a Restoration Hardware restaurant nearby. They do offer valet parking, which is a nice touch, though honestly parking is easy enough on your own. We had reservations through OpenTable and were seated on the patio, which was absolutely delightful for this time of year in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the setting was relaxed, and the service started off warm and welcoming right away. Now, the food. The country fried steak was beautifully cooked--crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that hit all the nostalgic notes from my Texas upbringing. I paired it with a vegetable side (I believe it was broccoli or corn), and it was a classic Southern plate done right. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, and to finish, we split a praline bread pudding, which felt like the perfect Southern ending to the meal--sweet, comforting, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and one of the things I continue to appreciate about Charlotte is how easy it is to connect with people. We even chatted with diners at nearby tables, which added to that welcoming, community feel that makes dining out here so enjoyable--especially for someone coming from the Bay Area. Prices felt fair for the quality, the setting, and the portion sizes, and overall the experience left a great impression. Bottom line: If you're craving a solid Southern classic like country fried steak--or just want a relaxed patio lunch in a charming part of SouthPark--The Southern Pecan is definitely worth a visit. And as someone happily eating my way through Charlotte and the Southeast, this stop was another reminder that the journey has been a delicious one.

I've heard rave reviews about this place so Michelle & I went for Sunday Brunch…read more They recommended a reservation so we had one @ 12n. It was already quite busy when we arrived and it's not clear where your parking options are. People are pulling up to the entrance and dropping people off so it gets jammed up and chaotic, of course people are running late so those BIG Yukons and Suburbans are making it a challenge to navigate a small entrance area. You would THINK they would at least have a Valet option of Sat/Sun during Brunch. To park, go BEHIND the restaurant on the street to the left and you'll see some free parking options that are close and walkable. We asked for a table on the patio and were immediately seated. The bar was already buzzing with solo diners enjoying their Mimosas. The patio is NOT that big, a little over crowded and table are very close with not much space in between. There was a LARGE group of 'FUN' ladies right beside us enjoying their MIMOSAS, dropping the 'F' bomb from time to time and making a LOT of noise. What can you do? Nothing but try to make the best of it and just start talking LOUDER like everyone else. The OVERHEAD heaters were way too intense so the Staff was very responsive at our request to turn down the heat. We shared the BBQ Shrimp Starter which was SO good, I highly recommend. I had the Gumbo and Michelle had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both had the Red Fish which comes with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were so BLAND, the broccoli had NO seasoning. The Red Fish wasn't that great of a flavor and not very tender, not easy to cut, had to use my knife at times to get a bite. Kinda disappointed, I lived in N Orleans for a couple of years and it was always so good there. The biggest disappointment was the Gumbo. It had all the right ingredients but the ROUX was to strong, dark and heavy. It actually gave me indigestion afterwards. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our Server was Daylean, she was so nice and helpful with the menu and kept our refills coming.

Beyond the excellent service, however, everything else was incredibly mediocre and overpriced. While the atmosphere is kitschy and I appreciate the attempt at a modern, California-influenced diner model, the food simply doesn't live up to the hype. The flavors are flat and tired. The pasta is run-of-the-mill, and the tomato sauce tasted as though someone had just blended a can of tomatoes and poured it straight onto the dish. High-quality touches like the blue cheese crumbles in my salad or the buffalo mozzarella on my chicken parm couldn't make up for the lack of depth in the actual cooking. To make matters worse, the blue cheese dressing was watery. My first glass of wine was slightly stale and shorted on the pour--clearly the dregs of an old bottle. This was confirmed when my second glass arrived much fuller and significantly fresher; it was obvious someone was just trying to empty a bottle that had been open for a week. Others in our group ordered burgers, which came out charred to a crisp, leathery, and barely edible despite being ordered medium. Aside from our wonderful server, this place is a definitive skip given the prices they are charging.

I got the food home and started tasting everything I purchased in the pictures below. Personally, I did not care for the vast majority of the meals. The fish & chicken were so hard and dry that they were like the Sahara Desert. It was flavorless, as were the vegetables. They tasted like they were fresh out of the can. I won't be going back there again, but if I did, it would only be for the mac & cheese, potato salad, and the roll. Not that they were delicious, but they were far better than the rest of the food on the platter. It's a NO for me.
