First, their prices are extremely low! I priced match others and Kooltint gave me the best deal. Second, customer service was Fantastic! As soon as I got there, they let me sit in the office while I waited & even gave me their WiFi pass code so that I could use my iPad. I didn't even have to ask! I had my entire car wrapped in fall 2015. Although it looked great when it was completed, after 3-4 years the material started breaking down on areas that get more direct sunlight, like hood, top of the car, and trunk. In hindsight I was very naive about having a car wrapped. It should only be done on frontal areas to protect against debris damage from the road. I guess I would have expected them to caution me about that, and recommend only no frontal areas because of reason I mentioned. On top of that, I took the car in a few months ago to Seidners Collision Center for body work on my trunk from someone rear ending me. The guy that helped said he's seen a lot of cars with wraps and said from his experience the 3M wrap should have lasted much longer than it did, casting doubt if the more expensive 3M brand I ordered was ever actually installed. I have no way of knowing what was actually installed after all this time. I'm not accusing since I have no way of knowing, but am faulting them for not cautioning me about pros and cons of wrapping an entire car. This review is long overdue. I purchased my BMW e82 last August and the first order of business was blacking out all of the obnoxious chrome. I searched around for a bit and decided to go with Kooltint. I definitely made the right choice. They vinyl wrapped the chrome around the windows in about an hour. It was quick, inexpensive and quality work. Six months and multiple washes later, the vinyl wrap is still in perfect condition! While they may do a good job installing tint and paint protection film, they also have a business on the side of selling some of their materials via eBay. I was very unimpressed with their service. I ordered a kit for $299 + shipping. The kit arrived in packaging that was not sealed. The kit had what looked like sawdust on the paint protection film (very bad for some of these kits) due to the poor packaging or from their shop. Additionally, they were not very responsive. Fast forward to now. I find out that the product that they sent me was not what I ordered. I ordered 3M VentureShield and one of the reasons for that product was that it could be authenticated and I had worked with it before. I looked specifically for THAT product and nothing else. Kooltint had decided to send me the wrong product because they "ran out" of the correct product. They're telling me they sent 3M Scotchgard Pro...which is a better product, but is not easily authenticated. They didn't tell me that until after I asked for a refund. I paid for a product that could be authenticated and was something I was familiar with even if what they sent me was actually SG Pro. They refused to provide me with a refund despite admitting that the product that they sent was incorrect. On top of all of that, the product sent to me would not cover the width of my hood after stretching. I would be very careful about buying kits from this company, you don't know what you're actually getting. If you're getting a kit installed from them, I'd also ask for proof that you're getting a genuine 3M product. read more

So here's the situation: I was ready to take both my cars to get the windows tinted as the sunshades I bought proved to be useless in shielding the sun from my poor infant son who was being blinded in the backseat every morning on the way to daycare. I called around the SGV looking for a local tint shop who could do the job right, quickly, and at the right price. First up was G5 Tint Shop. I called this place and a girl answered and quoted me $170 for the entry level tint job, and something outrageous for the upgraded heat resistant tint. I asked her if they would give me a discount since I was tinting two cars, and she replied that they didn't do multiple car discounts and that I would have to schedule something two weeks in advance-- uh, I'm sorry, this is a straight window tinting job we're talking about here, nothing proprietary, and I'm not rearranging my schedule two weeks in advance to get my windows tinted. If anything, you should be offering me a courtesy discount for waiting 2 weeks to fit THEIR schedule to tint TWO cars. Across the street was a newer shop, Tiger Tint. Their Yelp reviews seem to be hit or miss. I gave these fellas a holler, and the dude was excited at the opportunity to tint two cars from the same customer and offered a nice discount. He told me to give him a call next week and check his availability. When the following week came around, I was about to call them and looked them up on Yelp again to get their number. That's when I noticed a new review some chick posted with a picture of her passenger seat slashed with what was likely a window tinting razor on her new G37. The reviewer said when she contacted these busters about it, and they gave her the runaround and denied it. Now here's the thing, is there clear cut proof that these guys did it? Nope. But that's where common sense comes into play-- why the hell, and how the hell else would a seat from a new car get slashed like that? I highly doubt it was an elaborate scam the homegirl was trying to pull here. That review was enough to scare me away from these guys cause there were other reviews that mentioned careless work that resulted in damage to their cars too. When I called Kooltint, I spoke with Bernie and he said he could tint both cars the same day and would give me a multiple car discount. That's all I needed to hear, as his Yelp reviews pretty much speaks for itself. Before coming to the shop, I thought the heat reducing tint was a gimmick and bullshit-- I mean, I'd need to see some evidence that it worked before spending almost twice as much, right? Well, Bernie did give me a demonstration with a heat lamp and the two different kinds of tint. I was amazed at how much heat the upgraded tint could keep out! I ended up tinting one car with the upgraded tint, and the other car with the standard tint. The job was done beautifully and is covered from bubbling for life. As if you needed more reassurance, Bernie told me he's been in business for over 25 years, and he does the decals for the Alhambra Police Department cop cars. Bernie is best! Super nice, informative, and helpful! He's the dude who I took my car to get tinted! I really didn't know the difference btwn the two types of tint that he offered but he had a demo for me experience! It was cool. I made an appointment with him for 830AM eventhough he doesn't officially open until 930, he could make exceptions, you just need to call and schedule it. That was great for me! I did leave my car around 9AM and came back close to 3PM to pick it up. Upon inspection of my car, which I def recommend to everyone who gets tinting done- no harm in inspecting good workmanship! I did find a few bubbles on the passenger side of the car which they resolved. I still have tiny, tiny bubbles on the driver side but they said to give it a couple of days to dry out... they're still there... :( Super small, but thankfully KoolTint offers a lifetime warranty! yay! I never wanted to go back for my own car... but I may. Overall, the work and quality seemed great and the service is excellent! Oh yeah, I almost drive passed it on Marengo! Recently my wife and I needed to have both of our old cars' tint removed and have new tint installed due to the fact we have a newborn and the summer months were coming. Naturally, we yelp'd the most highly rated businesses in the area and tried to compare prices. Unlike other places, when I called Kooltint, Bernie(the owner) picked up the phone and provided great quotes and even offered to tint the car the same day. When a problem arose with the removal of the old tint from our 2003 civic back window, Bernie went the extra mile and called window removal companies to have them remove the window so that Bernie and his team would be able to razor blade remove the old tint without damaging the defroster lines. I expected Kool Tint to be good as Bernie was recommended to me by an expert tuner shop that I trust but I was still relieved and impressed by how positive my experience was. I have a brand new BMW 228i M Sport and wanted a tint for both aesthetic and practical (UV protection) reasons. I had never done this before but Bernie explained it very well and eventually I went for a clear wrap, too. I am very happy with the quality of both the work and the product in both cases. The only reason I am not giving Bernie five stars is because I feel I need to see how the wrap and the tint deal with a few weeks of every day driving (and their first hand wash) but I do not anticipate any problems. read more

The owner is a cool guy and him and his employee do a professional job every time, take good care of your vehicle while they have it, and will give you knowledge advice when deciding on what to do. Before bringing my truck in to get the windows tinted, I looked around, read the all the reviews, and I found this shop so I gave them a call and I'm glad I did. I first brought my truck in to get my front windows done and I was very happy with the work. My wife, who didn't want tinted windows, ended up changing her mind and liked what I got and decided she wanted her front windows tinted too. So later on I brought my wife's SUV in to get her windows tinted. The window tint we both got was the window tint that helps block out the heat of the sun and we chose to get the lighter color tint. Both vehicles came out looking great and we were glad we chose that style of tint; the extra cost was totally worth it. You will definitely noticed a difference in the summer months when you don't get the heat of the sun coming in and getting you hot while driving. We've even noticed we keep our vehicles A/C fan turned down the majority of the time while driving as it doesn't get as hot in the vehicles. Even our family and friends have notice the difference when sitting next to the windows that are tinted with the heat blocking tint compared to the factory tint. I just bought a 2013 mini cooper roadster last week. I want to install black sport stripes on it but I think the mini dealer over charged for the installation fee. So I searched tint shops on yelp, looking for better price for the sport stripes. I called kooltint and Bernie told me that he can get it done in 2 and a half hours and he offered me 20% off from the dealer price. The stripes comes in a wide variety of colors and I choosed the shinning black, which looked exactly like the mini factory stripes. Bernie did a great clear protection on my 2017 Subaru WRX STI and I selected the Motoshield 70% coolest tint films for my windows.

I was having problems with the oxidation on my paint and I also wanted a different look on my Toyota Tundra. I called Bernie and Colton and he advised me to come in so he can make an assessment. He made some recommendations using satin black vinyl to cover the oxidation and to give my truck a new look. I left a deposit and then scheduled to bring my truck in for the install. Bernie also recommended that I polish my hazy headlights and then to cover them with a protection film to keep them from going back to the haziness. So I got my truck back and was very happy with the look. It wasn't over-the-top but it was enough to give my truck a different look. The headlights came out great as well and now my headlights seem brighter at night. I'm happy with the work and I highly recommend Kooltint. read more
