Seriously the best tanning salon(s) I've ever been to in my life!! From the amazingly informative & knowledgeable employees, to the exquisite customer service, I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else now... (except maybe one of their other locations!! Lmao) Not only do they have an incredible selection of products & beds (stand ups, laydowns, infrared sauna, body wraps, spray tans,/custom airbrushing.... Etc) but they also have the new freakin #K-11 (aka the first ever LED Red light tanning hybrid bed!!!!!!!) What's that you ask!? Let's just say that it was love at first sight.... I mean tan... Blayke and Susie have been so helpful ever since I've started coming here around February. They make sure to explain the beds to me and I've already acquainted myself with the beds of my preference. I moved to Kool Rays sun spa from The Body Lounge in Montrose. At first I was bummed because they took the tanning beds out of The Body Lounge and I wasn't going to be able to go there anymore. I found Kool Rays Glendale and now I am sorry I didn't come sooner. Their beds are so much better and I have an amazing tan. I didn't look this good at the Body Lounge! While tanning isn't cheap... at least you can do it at a nice location. I used to come here back in 2018 and recently wanted to do some red-light therapy. Came back in and bought a 30-day unlimited package. Got the run down on the machines and the lotions by an esthetician who was not only knowledgeable but so kind. I last went to this tanning salon just before the pandemic, when all the tanning salons closed down in 2020. When things started up again , I was working convenient to another tanning salon on Ventura Blvd (which I found out, was coincidentally also owned by the same people). Due to another change in schedule, I stopped tanning probably more than a year ago. So earlier this week, I decided I want to start tanning again. So I walk into Kool Rays this past Wednesday I believe, and there was an Eleanor at the desk. I like to know exactly what I am buying. Eleanor knew exactly the answers to ALL my questions except one and she was going to have to call the owner on that one. She got that answer for me by the next day. So, when I came back to pay for the whole thing, everything was exactly as she had initially described it. The first thing I gotta dish is how awesome the owner and staff is! Super friendly, no up sell which to me is the most annoying thing about tanning salons. They bring out the little plastic menu and before you know it you're paying hundreds a month for tanning. Kill Rays doesn't do that. The staff legitimately seems to care about giving you the sexy glow! The self spray tan booth (clear) is easy to do and if you want just a touch of sun make sure you get the highest shade the tan is medium to light even at the highest level. The booth is easy to use streak free. I'm a first timer to the world of infrared therapy - the internet seems to be divided if it really works, I saw results immediately and came back the next day. I'm a believer. Next time I go back I'm getting a custom spray tan! Every time someone walks out they look great and seem to be happy about the experience. read more

Been working out more lately and been learning more about recovery so was happy to find out about infrared body wraps from Kool Rays. I am always open to giving new things a try so I was happy to make my way over to Glendale to see what a body wrap was all about. First thing I noticed when I walked in was that the place feels very clean. I saw there were many other rooms with different high tech looking devices. I wasn't there for the tanning but seems like they also have quite a few devices for that - all of them looked well-maintained. Anyways, on to the experience- the lady at the front desk showed me to my room where I would be getting the body wrap. You are told in advance to wear a sweater, sweats, and long socks. Then you get wrapped up like a taco on a bed. The taco (you) starts to heat up incrementally until you reach the designated temperature. Based off their recommendation for first time users I went with a level 45. The lady said more experienced people go with 60. Anyways it got pretty warm towards the end of the hour long wrap but I think I could've went with a slightly higher number. When you lay there you can choose to have your arms wrapped in or out. They also have a tv in the room if you want to tune into a show and relax for the session. Overall the front desk lady was attentive and nice. She answered all my questions. I definitely felt more relaxed afterwards though I felt like next time I would make it a little hotter. read more
