I'm the maid of honor for my best friend. Isabel's assistant reached out to my bride hours before her tanning session that she booked 6 months ago to cancel. This is 1 day before the wedding. Isabel then reached out to my bride and gave an excuse for a health issue. When we called another salon last minute to book another appointment, that salon said this is consistent behavior of Isabel, hence, we don't believe this is due to a health issue since she has precedence. This is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate behavior for this industry and a bride's big day. So if you're a bride, reconsider your chances she won't cancel on you too. read more

I took Isabel's spray tanning class via zoom. At first I was a bit hesitant because I prefer to learn hands on however I took the chance and had the intention to absorb as much as I can and get the most out of it. Isabel did a great job on explaining DHA, color theory and techniques. She also touches on the Fitzpatrick skin scale (skin types1-6) and how everyone can get a spray tan. She also shares stats of skin cancer and some marketing strategies. I personally have strategically spray tan over 10 people for free. Got content and now use it to promote my business. I was planning to announce mid May because I mentally thought I needed more practice however as I was building brand awareness I've had people reaching out if I was booking yet, and at that point I felt confident to start sooner and why wait. I feel so confident and stand by my investment because I put in what I wanted to get out of it, do the work and figuring it out. Yes I've learned a lot from the training but I also have been learning a lot from just jumping in and tanning people. Not only the training helped with my confidence to spray tan but also there are other opportunities to work with the brand, continue education, and also there's a supportive fb group. I will say this, whether you get a training from her or anyone else YOU should be putting in what you want to get out of it. If you expect to just get clientele just by this training and not doing the work you are not being realistic. I don't have any experience in the spray tan industry and let me tell you if you don't take the time to research, build a business plan and overcome mentally what's holding yourself back it's not going to work. If you're a bride I would highly recommend you reconsider booking a spray tan with Isabel or her team. I booked my bridal spray tan MONTHS in advance only to receive a text message MORNING OF THE TAN cancelling due to "her on-call schedule" and her being unavailable for my tan. She didn't even cancel 24 hours in advance and left me scrambling to find another spray tan artist last minute (when that's the last thing you want to do a day before your wedding). I also had already sent her money for the deposit to secure the appointment. After finding another spray tan salon, I was also notified that this happens many times with Dolce Glow and Isabel's clients and that she has a reputation for canceling LAST minute. Review is for her class. Isabel is the ultimate spray tan artist and overall MASTER trainer. She's super relaxed, unrehearsed & genuine. She had breakfast, snacks & drinks for us and we sat and literally had a "conversation" with her. And by conversation I mean "teaching us" in a very relaxed learning environment. After she talked us through client prep (pre & post) and taught us about DHA etc the hands on portion began (approx. 1 hr into class and you'll soon learn why this is important to mention). The next part of training is Isabel teaching you about your gun, how it feels, how it works and how you can take it apart to clean it. Isabel then welcomes you to hold the gun as she holds it too. She goes over her unique technique (only available to those that pay for the class like myself!) without a model first and then you begin. She started with her tanning first and every woman getting certified had several turns with several models. And if you weren't holding the gun and tanning you had the option of going with Chynzia 1:1 and pretend to tan her as you follow all techniques! (I HIGHLY recommend you try this) The rest of the class is Isabel working with each woman and teaching you how to spray tan as she not only gives you 1:1 direction BUT she's also encouraging you. She cheers you on and celebrates your growth in the spray tan process (which you WILL have grown insanely before her & your very own eyes!) If you're like me, you already had a previous spray tan class and didn't feel confident that you can actually spray tan people. I'm not here to talk about anyone else's class but this is important info to understand the context of my excitement, confidence level and overall growth in such a short period of time! I was really excited to train with Dolce Glow as it seemed it was the best, to be honest I signed up for all the wrong reasons. Training with a celebrity artist will not get you more business or connections- people just want a professional artist, amazing experience and a great tan. I paid $1,500 for an I person class and had to share the model I pad for with all the students. I spray tanned part of a leg. This left me so unprepared to actually spray tan anyone. I didn't learn how to fold the spray tan tent. I wasn't shown techniques on how to fix a bad tan, I wasn't taught about overspray, the maxi mist gun they provide is such a low quality product. You aren't introduced to any other solutions. You can get an amazing in person or digital training for 200-500- go this route! The training manual had endless typos and grammatical errors... barely touched based on how to build a brand- how to use google, Instagram, marketing, ads, etc. I was taught there are only skin types 1-4 and that violet solution looks good on everyone. Skin types 5 and 6 matter. Understanding color theory matters. These two factors and understanding the Fitzpatrick scale and customizing the color for every tan has been a game changer. Anytime I post anything not completely praising Isabel or Dolce glow I get nasty messages and texts. I've stopped using the brand altogether as there are more affordable higher quality products out there that actually help me retain new business. Making 6 figures your first year IS possible but not without making hundreds of connections and at least a few hundred loyal repeat clients or a thousand new clients. I recommend saving your money for an actual business consultant or doing your research on your area. For most this will be a side hustle for at least a year or two. If you live in a sunbelt... competition will be fierce. You're competing with the sun, tanning beds, and other artists. Save money on the education piece and hire a brand manager or work to distinguish and brand your services to your ideal clients. I've received more than one nasty DM and so many texts basically pressuring me to delete posts of stories the brand views as negative towards them. This always happens... look into what happened with Megan King Edmunds. A majority of the other celeb artists in major cities avoid and don't have a relationship with this brand- there's a reason why. Since removing all connections with the brand my business grew 55%. After giving my feedback to the brand they were so eager to listen but offer zero incentives to keep me as a customer. I dumped two gallons of the solution it turns people orange. The self tanners aren't great either and it's all overpriced and smell like self tanner. Both run a bit orange and are impossible to scrub off. Save your money, don't get blinded by celebrity, find a local artist with a strong brand and great reviews/ you'll save thousands and build a community of people who can actually help you succeed. read more

I do not like to write negative reviews but this one is needed for all future brides. We have been spray tanning with marisol and only love her work. Marisol cancelled on my cousin and her sister who was a bride and they ended up with Melanie who ruined their spray tan completely I have never seen such a horrible spray tan in my life. My sister being her long time client booked her for her prewedding shoot which was also rescheduled with Melanie my sister came out orange similar to bride wars im not even exaggerating everyone was shocked. The photographer couldn't even edit the orange out completely. Knowing this we decided to book only with marisol (with a rep of canceling) she promised to not leave us hanging AGAIN and ended up canceling 10 days before my sisters wedding. I decided to start spray tanning as a side hustle in college after I stumbled upon Isabel Alysa. I took her in person group class in LA. It was held at her main offices and it's such a cute set up. It's clear she's an expert in spray tanning and she made sure we all felt confident with all of the information and technique. She goes through her entire technique step by step and took up all one by one to hand guide us with the spray gun. I left the class super excited to start practicing on everyone I know!! I took Isabel's course summer 19' and boy am I glad I did. Isabel is very sweet she makes you feel like she's one of your friends. She's extremely knowledgeable and has tons of patience. She is great at making you feel encouraged the whole time you're practicing on someone. She and her assistant Chynzia are both very nice and extremely patient and very reassuring. So that's why this class is great for beginners as well as someone with experience. Going to class I was extremely nervous because I didn't know what to expect. However after the class room type setting we go straight to practicing on models and she really shows you how it's done and really explains things clearly. She's even down to go in and get tanned if she needs to. I remember we didn't know if we had enough models so Isabel let us practice on her arms. That's awesome. She's so passionate about what she does and and really truly loves it. So I been using Isabel for airbrush tans now for two years. I live in the Bay Area now and I still will make an appointment to go see her when I'm in LA visiting family.
