This is a duplicate review...sorry folks. Amy is a friendly and helpful spray tech. She made us (brought a friend) feel at ease and performed the spray quickly. I had some issues with my neck area that required a touch up and she was extremely helpful in scheduling. I definitely need to understand post instructions better. I had some ugly blotchiness that was probably due to me not moisturizing. I will be more compliant next time to get better results. And, I think I'll go lighter. The 3 was pretty dark. Highly recommend going the rapid route. Even that was tough! 3 hours to wait to shower with dusty spray all over. Again, I need to understand the process better. Amy really is great! This review is long overdue. I got my spray tan before memorial weekend. I was a bit hesitant since I had never done a spray tan before. Her salon is so cute, girly and chic. You have to admire this woman she does it all herself, props to that. So I come and she takes me into a room and tells me to take off my clothes and I'm like, "completely naked?" Lol and she says, "well yeah unless you would like tan lines?". I get completely naked and felt super awkward but Amy makes it so not awkward and just talks to you like nothing is out of the norm. I'm a professional fitness model and I used to hate getting spray tan for my photo shoots/ video shoots or competitions, because they either wouldn't look as good as I wanted, or the tan would start coming off unevenly. While the lady is super sweet, a dark tan only takes 15 minutes or less which tells me it isn't thorough. Even though I let my tan settle in overnight, it didn't last at all, 3 days max for rich coloring. Also the tan was patchy. Dark in some places and others pale AF. I had to physically tan outside to achieve the color I wanted. I wouldn't recommend. I miss Heather tanning. Each spray tan was about 30 minutes and they even go over twice if you want. read more

Had my first visit with Amy at The Spray Studio today. Found this place here on Yelp, after reading all her reviews, I have to agree that this place is so great! Amy was very accommodating with my appointment all over text. She provided assurance of all of my many questions, and flexibility in scheduling. I was there about 45 mins or so from walking in to waking out. Amy has her salon decorated so cute, shabby chic. She escorted me into the spray room as she asked what kind of results I was hoping for, then as I was undressing, she went to mix the color I asked for. 2 years ago, I was in search for the perfect "golden glow" tan for my wedding and I was thrilled to have found this spot. I bought a 5 tan package to test out the different intensity levels so I could choose the right one for the big day. My bridesmaids loved my tanned so much that all of them ended up getting a tan for the wedding with Amy and they were thrilled with the results as well. The day of my wedding, even my makeup artist complimented on all of our "golden glow" and asked if it was a natural tan or a spray tan. She said it was the best looking tan she has seen in all the years she has done makeup for models and brides. As for my experience with Amy, she is one of the sweetest most down to earth people I've met. I tend to be a shy person but she made me feel completely comfortable. Because of her personable personality, I didn't feel awkward standing completely naked in front of her. *Black girl's POV on Spray Tanning* For a while, it used to be just the black girls getting weaves and extensions. Discretely too. Trying to pass it off like it was all hers. I'm not hating...I used to be one of those chics! Now, you walk around and everyone and their mama got hair all down their back! White chics seem to know more about adding some tracks than I do now. And it's ok...like it's the quasi-norm these days. Well, let me try and flip the script for a sec. Brown skinned ladies: there's a reason why white chics have been getting tanned all these years. This sh*t is bomb - we need to make it the quasi-norm as well! I'm not even 12 hours out since getting my spray tan and I am in loooove with the results! I found this salon and Amy on yelp last week and texted her to schedule an appt. "I'm black and never been tanning before. Mostly want to cover stretch marks and glow for an event next Sat. Will a spray tan work?" Within minutes, she replied back that it def would. She answered some additional questions I had and I felt comfy booking an appt. Fast forward to today. I showered and exfoliated before as directed and arrived in loose clothes. Amy greeted me right away and was super nice! She led me into the spray room and we chatted about exactly the type of look I was going for. I undressed while she mixed my color and the spraying begun. Now ladies, this is not time to be shy or modest. She's gonna see it all! I'm not 22 and didn't buy my boobs, so I lifted them up so she could get underneath...yeah my chest was pale! The spray didn't feel bad at all. Slightly cool, but not freezing cold. Felt like a light mist vs a heavy spray of liquid. Amy did 3 or 4 passes, occasionally sponging and rolling to even things out until my entire body was completed. She also did a pass on my face and neck. Afterwards I stepped back into the changing/drying room where the fans were on to help dry off. The spray tan isn't dripping wet, but you are moist and can't really just wipe it off. After a few minutes, I was dry enough to get dressed and head out. Yea, I was pretty dark right after...I guess that's what the white girls refer to as "orange"?! Amy explained that after I bathe tmrw some of the bronzer does wash off and I'll be left with a nice golden color. (Which it did, and I was!) So why am I raving about this place? The UNexpected results! Remember, I came in wanting to help cover stretch marks and glow. Well not only was that accomplished, but I didn't expect my muscle definition to also jump! Hello sculpted shoulders, biceps, and quads!!! Yes I lift heavy weights and squat my ass off at the gym, but I immediately noticed how much more I could SEE my muscles now - I am loving that alone! Makes sense why body builders tan up before competitions. Amy also did such a great job just evening me out - the tan lines on my back and shoulders are almost unnoticeable. I totally get why white girls do this regularly. I wanna know why none of my white girl friends never encouraged me to go get spray tanned before!
