At first I was a bit hesitant because I prefer to…read morelearn hands on however I took the chance and had the intention to absorb as much as I can and get the most out of it. Isabel did a great job on explaining DHA, color theory and techniques. She also touches on the Fitzpatrick skin scale (skin types1-6) and how everyone can get a spray tan. She also shares stats of skin cancer and some marketing strategies. I personally have strategically spray tan over 10 people for free. Got content and now use it to promote my business. I was planning to announce mid May because I mentally thought I needed more practice however as I was building brand awareness I've had people reaching out if I was booking yet, and at that point I felt confident to start sooner and why wait. I feel so confident and stand by my investment because I put in what I wanted to get out of it, do the work and figuring it out. Yes I've learned a lot from the training but I also have been learning a lot from just jumping in and tanning people. Not only the training helped with my confidence to spray tan but also there are other opportunities to work with the brand, continue education, and also there's a supportive fb group. I will say this, whether you get a training from her or anyone else YOU should be putting in what you want to get out of it. If you expect to just get clientele just by this training and not doing the work you are not being realistic. I don't have any experience in the spray tan industry and let me tell you if you don't take the time to research, build a business plan and overcome mentally what's holding yourself back it's not going to work. YOU do have to go out and continue practicing and mastering your craft. If I can do this online you can too, it's just on how much do you really want this.

I really wanted to love this training because I chose it specifically because I wanted to learn…read morefrom someone with experience and leave feeling confident doing spray tans on my own. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I spent my savings on this training because I genuinely believed I was investing in myself and in starting my own business. That made the experience especially disappointing. There was very little information provided overall, and a lot of the classroom portion focused on their products and the brand itself. I understand that learning about the products is important, but I was expecting much more education on the actual techniques, equipment, setup, troubleshooting, and practical knowledge needed to confidently start doing spray tans. When it comes to the hands-on portion, you should be aware that you get very limited one-on-one time with Isabell, and most of the hands-on instruction is done with her other employees. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her employees helping with the training, but I do feel this should be clearly advertised and explained beforehand. I specifically signed up because I wanted to train with someone experienced, so my expectation was that I would be getting substantially more hands-on instruction and experience directly from Isabell. I only had the opportunity to practice on one leg and one arm, and even then, I was being guided by having my hand held through the process. For me, the hands-on portion was the most important reason I chose an in-person training. It was also difficult to watch the other students because computer screens and phones being used to film the Zoom portion were frequently blocking my view. There were also many basic things I expected to learn in a professional spray tanning training that were not covered, such as how to set up and unfold the tent, how to properly clean it, what type of fans to use, different types of spray guns, how to load the gun with solution, different solution options and when to use them, and many other practical aspects of actually doing this as a business. I also wasn't told that I would not be receiving the spray gun until I emailed to ask. What really stayed with me is that during the classroom portion, Isabell talked about taking a training herself that left her feeling like she didn't know what to do afterward. I remember hearing that and thinking that she, of all people, would understand how important it is for students to leave a training feeling prepared, confident, and supported. If I could tell her something honestly and from the heart, it would be this: **I wish that experience had made you want to provide an even better experience for the people who come to learn from you, because unfortunately, that's how I feel I am leaving this training. And I know I'm not the only one.** I understand that there is plenty of information online, and I am completely willing to continue educating myself. But that's not why I paid for a professional training. I spent my savings because I wanted to learn directly from someone experienced and leave feeling comfortable and confident enough to actually start my business. What has been especially disappointing is the communication afterward. I have been going back and forth with them regarding taking another class to "make up" for the experience. I never asked for another full class. **I only asked for the hands-on portion that I feel I did not receive during the training I already paid for.** I don't think it is unreasonable to want the hands-on portion of a hands-on training to actually be hands-on. I went into this with high expectations because of the brand and the experience I believed I was going to receive. Unfortunately, I left feeling like I still have to teach myself many of the things I specifically spent my savings to learn. I am still determined to make this business work, and I will continue learning and practicing on my own. But I wanted to share my honest experience so future students know what to expect and, hopefully, so the training can be improved for others. I truly hope this feedback is taken in the spirit in which it is intended. I am not trying to tear anyone down. I simply wish I had received the experience and hands-on education I believed I was paying for.

She was all prepared, showered, and had her loofah with her, excited to enjoy the experience before we flew out the next day. To our complete shock, they refused to let me gift her one of my credits. No compassion, no flexibility, no customer service. Just a hard "no," even though the credit was paid for and she was only in town briefly. It was upsetting, embarrassing, and honestly baffling. I have been going to Sun Works Glendale for quite some time already. I loved their tanning beds and always got the best results in just 2-3 sessions. On occasion, I would do Mystic, but only when I needed color ASAP. I recently went on a Monday night, the eve of my birthday luau. I was running around all day buying decorations, booking vendors and entertainment, etc., and made a quick beeline for a Mystic before heading home to pack all my event décor in my vehicle. The young lady who helped me was sweet and suggested PURA vs Mystic, saying was more of an airbrushed look and it dries you after the session. Fantastic! I opted for PURA in the darkest shade available. I needed to achieve an Island-worthy glow over night. So, I do it. The following day, I was still pale, my color was just as uneven as before I went in the PURA machine. Meaning I did not have that even color and glow that is achieved when getting a spray tan. I paid $35. I called them up and a nice young lady asked if she could call me back while she talked with her manager. She did call me back and asked if I could go in so they may look at my "tan" ... Going in to Glendale would be hard with all the things I had going on the day of the party. I asked if the Pasadena location was an option. She checked and said yes. Moving things around in order to go in to have my tan, or lack there of, inspected was difficult because of my schedule. That, and it felt a little risky to get PURA done again hours before my party. Going in the next couple of days was hard because I got a little sick. I called the Pasadena location and explained. She knew my situation. She called her manager (Glendale) and he said no, because it had been a few days. You could clearly tell if there had been any temporary color applied to the skin even after a few days... Needless to say, I am very disappointed with having wasted my time and money at the Glendale location. I had to resort to make-up tricks for my party. Anyhow, the Pasadena location was super nice to me. But it is probably owned by the same person, so it will probably not matter if I tell you to go to their location instead. read more

I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would ever set foot in a tanning salon. As a California native, I have always had a natural glow from various outdoor summer activities and beach side vacations. However, this past year I missed out on my usual summer lounge sessions as I was I unemployed and forced back into my vampire-like schedule bartending to pay the bills. Desperate times call for desperate measures...and when a Vegas trip presents itself to you, you must do whatever it takes to prepare yourself. I kicked up the gym sessions a few notches, bought a few dangerously short dresses and finally made the decision to give this whole "spray tan" thing a try. A few coworkers recommended Sunworks and I decided to give them a call. The person who answered the phone was helpful without being judgemental of my idiotic questions "Will there be a huge streak of paint behind me if I jump in the pool??" They also told me there was a special going on for first time tanners, buy two tans get one free. Score, if I liked it, I could use it again for some other important occasion like a skimpy Halloween costume or my high school reunion. A few days later I arrived at Sunworks and found the atmosphere to be hip, trendy and yet still comfortable. The gentleman at the counter took the time to answer all my questions and go over exactly what to do when I stepped inside the booth. For an extra 5 dollars, I bought an primer and kicked my tan up a notch. that was the PURA an automated air brush the latest news in spray tanning The tan process was fast and precise. I left feeling confident and glowing. When I arrived at the airport to meet my friends, they immediately wanted to know where I'd been or what I had been doing to look so bronze. More importantly, I did not blind people with my original shockingly white skin when I hit the pool. I've been back for my free tan since and, without sounding like one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.I think I'm hooked. I'm normally not a miserable person to be leaving 1 star reviews on yelp, or leave reviews in general, but this one I really had to. Last 2 times I've been going here, my tan has been extremely uneven, some spots being very dark and other spots not even being sprayed. Didn't complain the first time, but the second time (a little over a week apart from each other) went by to show the front girl how bad it was. She saw and agreed that it looked horrible. Same thing happened with my friend that got tanned with me. Called the manager, Jack, to address my concern. And the $90 bucks I wasted on my 2 tans was not worth the few mins I spent talking on the phone w him. WHAT AN UNPROFESSIONAL JERK... all his responses were followed by a nasty sarcastic laugh.. all in all, I would never go back to this business and not because of the machine(which also sucks), but because of their customer service skills. read more

The "open hours" here are inaccurate. I've been patronizing this place for years -- probably spent upwards of $5000 here -- and lately the girls who run the front desk have been closing early. I showed up with my girlfriend at 9:30pm (it's supposed to close at 10, with the last session 1/2 hour before), and the door was locked. We knocked. The girl inside looked at us, turned, and walked away. Same thing happened to another dude who showed up a minute later. A couple weeks ago, I showed up at 6:45 on a Saturday, and the door was locked with no one inside (advertised Saturday hours are until 8). The owner really needs to clamp down on these girls going home early. read more

I rarely do a tan but if I do it again she is the one I will use again. Try her services out you will not be disappointed!

She asks all the right questions to keep conversation going and my normally quiet child enjoys talking with her. I like that I'm able to tell her what I want done and she does everything I ask and isn't afraid to ask questions to clarify anything. She takes her time and is very thorough.

The other services are great too, I was able to get some botox while my hair color was sitting, worked out perfect, and did I mention the Armenian coffee... I am not Armenian but am definitely a fan of the coffee and pastries they serve while you are there.
