Great food and service. Interior and table settings set a very nice, classy vibe. The dish presentation was beautiful as well. Our server was kind and attentive. Will definitely return to try more of the menu, hopefully on a night with live music. read more

Koobikland - Beef Koobideh - Persian/Iranian Near Me - Orange, California

Since finding Koobikland on Yelp a few months back, it has become a (nearly) weekly visit for me and my family. I can safely say that before running into Koobikland, Persian/Iranian food was not usually high on my list of cuisines I needed regularly, but here we are. So what exactly makes Koobikland special? Let's first start with the Kebabs. These are by far the tastiest, juiciest Kebabs I've ever had. I generally make it a rule of thumb to avoid chicken at most restaurants I go to, mainly because it's usually dry, flavorless and an afterthought. NOT SO AT KOOBIKLAND. I only order chicken here because it is SO JUICY. You cannot go wrong with the Queen of Persia. It comes with a skewer of Boneless Chicken (it's thigh meat and well seasoned, so it's juicy and wonderfully tasty) and a Chicken Koobideh skewer, which is basically a well seasoned stick of ground chicken (almost sausage like in texture). You can upgrade the rice to a Polo Lati which adds grilled tomatoes, butter and Sumac to the rice - it is absolutely worth the upgrade! You can also choose to do half salad, half rice, because - HEALTH :) The salad dressing is bright pink and you don't know what to think at first, but it is a solid dressing, not too sweet or heavy (I think it's vinaigrette of some sort) and is a visually lovely contrast to the rest of your amazing board (yes, I said board - your food comes on a board). It's not to say that the beef or lamb are not good - they are and I've had them both, but the chicken is the true standout here. Everyone I've introduced to Koobikland agrees. Every appetizer we've tried here has been great - you're a fan of baba ganoush? Imagine a BETTER version of baba ganoush! You like falafel? Imagine a BETTER version of falafel! If you're wondering, do I need the Dragon Kabob before the massive dinner I'm about to have? The answer is yes because it's delicious and you'll find room, or better yet, bring some friends and have them thank you for your impeccable taste in food later! And last but not least, dessert: my goodness, save room for the baklava. You're going to want more than one and you're not going to want to share. Again, baklava is great, but have you had BETTER baklava? It's flakey, it's pistachio-y and the syrup is juuuuuust right - not dripping, but perfectly absorbed. I don't usually go hard for dessert, but no visit to Koobikland is complete without the baklava. Oh, and the Turkish Coffee - it's perfection and again, a BETTER version of Turkish Coffee than any I've had elsewhere. They make it fresh and they know what they're doing. No notes - absolute best way to cap off any meal here. The food at this place is truly one of a kind, but since becoming regulars, we've gotten to know the various servers and the owner who clearly take pride in their food and restaurant. The restaurant itself is always impeccably clean and bright. On most evenings, they have a musician playing live music that adds a nice atmosphere - a mix of covers of popular pop songs and traditional Persian music (please make sure to tip the musician). Depending on how many tables they have, they might be a bit faster or slower, but honestly, I don't care because the food is worth it - it's clearly made fresh and good food takes time. I'm really choosy about restaurants I review and Koobikland made the cut. They deserve each and every star! read more

Koobikland is AMAZING! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the staff treated us like family. The vibe is fun and lively -- perfect for any occasion. 10/10! read more

The service was amazing -- from the warm hospitality to the beautifully presented dishes. The restaurant itself is super cute with lovely décor, and everything was spotless. The food was good -- while it didn't completely blow me away, it's definitely better than most other Iranian restaurants in Orange County. Overall, a great experience! read more

We came here for Eid dinner on the first day of Eid.. to our surprise the restaurant was not busy which put us in doubt about our choice But once we placed our order we were taken aback at how good every thing was.. our hostess Sheema was very attentive and she recommended on what to order.. we were served pita and homemade butter as a complimentary starter which was very nice.. we ordered their dragon kabob as an appetizer which tasted really good .. the meat was moist and juicy and it tasted amazing then we had their meat main course 'Family tray' it came with 2 servings of rice so we had polo lati and butter rice.. (polo lati is at additional cost of $4) it was good enough for 4 people and it came with sides in a different tray .. a delight for meat lovers.. the meat was nicely seasoned and it was soft as butter.. For dessert they were out of ice cream so we ordered baklava and Turkish coffee and the coffee was served with chocolate truffles on the side which was very unique and it tasted bomb.. we were informed they have live music on Friday's and Sunday's and Saturday they have a live dj.. their ambiance is very classy and their food is even better.. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 This is now my goto Persian restaurant read more

24 days ago, on November 26, 2024, fresh out of the shower, afro still dripping, I was wrestling with my hair dryer like it owed me money. Just as I was about to win the battle, my phone rang. It was my high school buddy! After a conversation that involved more interruptions from the hair dryer than I'd like to admit, we decided to meet for dinner. Naturally, this turned into a group chat with a flurry of suggestions, Korean BBQ, fried chicken, you name it. Then my Vietnamese friend dropped the bomb: "Let's go to Koobikland!" A Persian restaurant? Yes, please! I Googled it with no hesitation, only to realize it was a two-hour drive from LA during peak traffic. My inner Persian ancestors whispered, 'Don't be weak.' My Vietnamese friend's impeccable taste buds appreciated our cuisine. How could I say no? So, I grabbed my keys, muttered 'Traffic Nagaeedam,' and hit the road. Rain started pouring, but Joe Rogan and Scott Storch kept me company with their legendary banter. Two hours later, I arrived 30 minutes before closing. The staff greeted us like we were family, and the food? Unreal. Every bite was like a symphony of saffron and perfection. Honestly, opening a Persian spot just up the street from Darya was a bold move, but guess what? Koobikland nailed it. Boldness: 10/10. Vibes: 11/10. As someone with nearly a decade in the food industry, I have to say: Koobikland, you're the real MVP. Consistency is the boss battle in this game, but I know you've got what it takes. Hats off to the owner and team. You are out here schooling the competition. Respect. read more

Are you tired of before the Shah style "old Persian" cuisine? Kobikland has modernized the traditional favorites. The decor, the table settings the food presentation feels modern. The flavors are developed! The Egypt Kabob is perfect for a Southern boy who likes his food with a little pepper kick! The owner is also the main chef and stays active with the dining room. read more

First time and will come back again. Not only you see the best persian food plating at koobikland, but also you taste amazing kabobs. Polo Lati is a must try and brought many childhood memories. The lady at the front welcomed us and was super helpful to go over the menue options. Owner of Koobikland Kiarash was super friendly . Nostalgic bear, strawberry , banana chewing gums and the message on the to go box are all the details that made this experience amazing! read more

Best Persian restaurant in Orange County! The food is amazing and the service is excellent. Everything tasted authentic and delicious. The saffron ice cream is a must-try! read more

The koobideh seemed processed and and kinda rubbery. I've had better at other Persian restaurants. I ordered the watermelon juice and it was quite expensive for a small glass. You can get a large cup at a Mexican restaurant for half the price. The service was great tho. The restaurant decor was really nice too. read more

Food was not good for the price. Salad was just iceberg lettuce with purple cabbage on top and a sauce. Nothing special. Meat and chicken rubbery. Will not recommend. Not worth the $$$. read more

We came in over weekend with a huge group (50) of people. The restaurant was super accommodating as the original reservation wasn't for quite so many people that ended up in the group. Even with a large group the service was excellent! The salads and kabobs were very good. I thought the steak was the best of them - compared to ground beef and ground chicken - although I would order all of them again. I look forward to coming back again with a small party or on my own. read more

Dragon Kabob is just perfect I picked up my online ordered already prepared on time. And the staff were very courteous.

Had a great experience the first time we came here. Second time felt like a completely different place. I have no idea why service went from 5 to zero stars, but I am never spending another dime here again. Food was still okay, but we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to ask for water, or utensils, or to even receive the rest of our order, which took an hour after we received the first dish. We watched other customers receive great and attentive service, so it's hard not to believe it wasn't intentional. read more

Don't get all the five star reviews. I did have a different experience than most people. To be fair, the service was great, they brought a free appetizer dish and they checked multiple times to make sure everything was good. The plates had a great decoration they were instagram worthy. The food was not great though. The Koobide had a rubbery texture and was not at all authentic. The rice wasn't that great either. Everything else tasted average at best. read more

I came at 3:30 on a weekday with my mom and we were met with amazing service. The owner was so nice and even played a bit of piano for us. What a fantastic experience! Great food, great vibe, great service and absolutely obsessive attention to details! We went there on a slow time and it was just us ( me, my wife and my son) and the owner was kind enough to sit behind the piano and play for us! We are so excited that we discovered such a gem and we will definitely go back to try different dishes. Oh by the way, although everything we tried was very good, the koobideh with chelo latti rice was my favorite. The lamb chenjeh was also sooo tender and juicy and didn't smell at all. Loved it! read more
