Mind you I live around the corner from this spot and have never been, so glad I finally stopped in on this past Friday and it was so good. This past Friday it was really chilly and my work colleague wanted some hot tofu soup. Not to mention this is one of the best Korean Pocha spots in the city, with a 70-80's retro street vibe features traditional Korean cuisine, Korean BBQ & other specialties. The wait staff was really nice and inviting. They were very knowledgeable about the various food options. It was really cool to hear catchy K-pop songs playing as week. The food is fire hands down. I went ahead and got the Teriyaki mayonnaise Cup Bap( rice bowl topped with the korean fried chicken, teriyaki sauce and mayo). So delicious, my friend got he soft tofu soup with seafood and we split a hot sake to share. I am still mad at myself that I have not come here sooner, I will definitely be back. Their fried rice dishes look amazing. I also love the price point here as well. For both of us it was $40 bucks. So if your in the station north area, please stop in. You wont be dissapointed SYOY
The food was great! I ordered their Sweet chili chicken cup bap and was so surprised by how good it was. Chicken was fried to perfection, serving size was huge, and loved the sweet and spicy flavors. My daughter got their kimchi soup with dumplings and I loved how they seasoned it, gave me comfort food vibes. Came here Friday evening around 6 and they were not busy, but saw plenty of folks picking up food. We were seated right away and our orders were taken quickly. Maybe because there weren't a lot of dine in customers. The whole vibe of this place feels like a late night bar. The only drawback to this place is its location, but if you don't mind the graffiti...definitely worth a try if you want some good Korean food. Full disclosure, this place isn't in the best part of town. The neighborhood leaves much to be desired. I think next time we'll order take out.
I hadn't been to Kong Pocha in years until last night and shame on me. This place is incredible. The wait staff was inviting and knowledgeable about the various options, the interior was lively with catchy K-pop filling the air. But the food was the best part. The spicy and sweet fried chicken entree was addictive (though next time, I'll ask them to fry the accompanying fries extra crispy--too soggy for my taste). The edamame was simply seasoned with salt but we'll done. And the shrimp fried rice was workmanlike. It's dangerous for my waistline that this place is so delicious, nearby, and open late. I will absolutely return. 9/10
A hot spot for college students to gather and grab a meal together (not always for drinks hahaha). For after dinner hours a party of five friends including me ordered the army stew and a combo platter of chicken, fries, and salad. The food was filling! It came out to be about $20/person split this way. The fries are a bit of a disappointment we realize because they are reheated as they are a bit softer and slightly lacking in taste because of it. Service was kind, immediate, and hospitable. Thank you!
From the outside I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a bit dark inside with low warm lighting. They seated us in a back corner which had less light than the corner across but it wasn't terrible. Menus are available via QRcode so we love the sustainability. I went here for a date night and it was super chill. The staff didn't really bother you too much throughout your dining. They gave you the instructions and gave you a lot of time to decide on what to eat and they answered any questions you might have. The food came out super quick. I honestly think it took less than 15m for the food to be served after ordering. Their food was really tasty and fresh. They also gave ALOT so the money is worth the portions. I ordered the Sweet Chili Chicken Cup-BAP, it was more sweet than chili. Still was good nonetheless. They also gave an assortment of toppings or additional adds like kimchi, pickle radish, etc. by it self it was great however the kimchi wasn't my fav because it had a bit of a kick to it. Overall I would rate this place a 7.5/10.
Another one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Out of all the Asian cuisines, I think the Korean food in Baltimore is the best. We have a lot of great options here and Kong Pocha is one of them. I've been coming here ever since they opened and have ordered takeout/delivery from them pretty regularly. The staff here is younger than your average Korean restaurant, and they are friendly and very hospitable. I've come to this space many times in the past when it was Omijang, but they transformed it to feel more homey with dim lights kinda like you are at a night market in Asia. Maybe even a karaoke bar. Over the years, I've been obsessed with their whole fried chicken. As you can see from the photos, I've ordered it quite a few times. Super crispy and flavorful. Recently, I've been obsessed with their brisket. I order their bulgogi ($28) and substitute it with brisket. The flavors and the meat mixed with bean sprouts, cabbage and onion is chef's kiss paired with some white rice. Hits the spot every time. Their daikon radish kimchi banchan is super addicting. So I actually ordered this meal recently through DoorDash and the driver left 1 of 2 bags at my doorstep, even though the drop off directions were to hand it to me so I can give them the PIN. He called me asking for the PIN and I went to the door, food was at my doorstep and he was rushing to his car to leave. I found out later on that half my food was missing. I called the restaurant to let them know and they informed me my order was supposed to be in 2 bags. The jambong and steamed mandu were missing. Jack called me back. He resolved the issue professionally with the least amount of inconvenience to me. The team here has shown great customer service over the years. There have been times where the Uber Eats driver delivered my food to the wrong house, or delivered me someone else's food, but the staff here at Kong has always made up for the mistake of the delivery driver in order to keep their customer happy. Not many places nowadays will go above and beyond anymore, unfortunately. Kong Pocha does and that's why I continue to support their business.
One of the best pocha places I've ever had! Very authentic vibe, super efficient service, lots of indoor seating and nearby parking. The banchan, cream chicken omelet, and corn cheese were some of the tastiest dishes I've had in a while. Generous portion sizes. Highly, highly recommend!
Grabbed dinner here the other night. I used to frequent this location a decade ago when it was under different ownership. The true Korean BBQ experience is gone. You can order some other Korean dishes. We got the bulgogi which was good, the other steak dish which was just ok, the seafood pancake was truly bland and underwhelming, and the beef tofu soup which was great. I was disappointed both in the variety of banchan. The ambiance is very casual and they have a parking lot next door
This was one of the few spots that were open late night after a concert in Baltimore. - Rice Cake + Dumpling Soup - Spicy Pork Hot Stone Bibimbap Both of the entrees were decent for a late night meal otherwise it does not stand out compared to other Korean restaurants. The service was good even though it was very busy that night because almost everyone came from the concert nearby. The exterior near the parking lot looks kind of sketchy, but the interior has a unique bar vibe.
All I can say is WOW! If you're looking for authentic Korean food in a hyper local Bmore setting, this is the place for you. The CM of Baltimore took me here after an event and I'm so happy she did. This spot is open late on Thursdays. I love the intimate setting and all the film posters in Korean on the wall. We were seated quickly and given tasty banchan. My friend highly recommended this secret menu item that was a combo. I opted for the original version of it and was able to try so many different delicious things on their menu from this. I had incredible fried chicken, a fried egg on rice, and another delicious BBQ type dish. It was so much food I was able to take some home for the next day. I also tried their amazing corn cheese. It was sweet gooey deliciousness. My friend adored her kimchi fried rice. I highly recommend checking out this local gem.
I literally get the combo box every few days - hands down the best Korean food I've found in Baltimore. Highly recommend this combo box with cheese and curry (only available through delivery apps, but you can still order it for pickup). The fried chicken is easily the star - 10/10. Super crispy, tender inside, sweet chili sauce hits just right. The bulgogi is great to me (I'm biased bc I love Korean food) but is more soggy and not for everyone (6/10). The egg and rice with the cheese/curry combo is solid 7/10. Portions are generous. $23 for the combo box lasts me two full meals (and I eat a lot as a 6' 190lb guy). The chicken-only box could honestly feed 4 people. Fries are above average for a restaurant 8/10 - crisp and not overly fried but nothing mind-blowing and could use a bit more seasoning. Ambience-wise, it's what you'd expect from a Korean pocha spot, which is rare this close to downtown. Most importantly, the food is consistent. I've ordered a lot from here and will keep doing so. Overall: 10/10. If you're into Korean fried chicken or are looking for a nice pocha spot to hangout in Baltimore, this is a must. Just be careful of your surroundings as it seems to not be in the best parts of town.
Have never left a review before. Disappointment awaits. This place provides miserable food. Ordered Bulgogi and Shrimp dumplings. Let me show you what I got. The Bulgogi is an atrocious tray of onions and a bit of beef and the "dumplings" are like tater tots. Worst culinary expedience I've had in Baltimore. Forget this place. Never again.
I got the boneless sweet and spicy fried chicken ($25.99). It came with fries and a salad. The chicken was very good - crispy and flavorful. They also gave a 4 complimentary side dishes of kimchi, pickled radish, tofu with a chili sauce, and green beans and cabbage. That was nice to eat while we waited for our chicken to arrive. Our server was friendly and the food came out relatively fast. The kitchen is open until midnight so I can see how it is a very popular spot for college students, which seems to be most of their customers. In terms of the ambiance, it was very casual. There is a bar up front with Korean BBQ plates. They also have there own private parking lot, which is a plus!
Reviews are largely positive. People highlight the authentic Korean flavors, generous portions, and a lively casual atmosphere. Service is often friendly and attentive.

Kong Pocha in Baltimore is a Korean restaurant styled with nostalgic retro memorabilia and serving affordably priced comfort dishes. For dinner we had the dumplings, seafood pancake, kimchi pancake, sweet and spicy fried chicken and army soup. Affordably priced and generously portioned, Kong Pocha is a great place for a casual group or pregame dinner read more
I FINALLY made it to Kong Pocha. Even though I've lived around this spot for years, I never made a point to visit. Four of my friends and I came by for dinner on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately and the service was great the entire evening. We ordered... - boneless fried chicken - shrimp shumai - seafood pancake - kimchi fried rice - BBQ pork belly Wow, wow, wow. Everything was just incredible. My favorites had to be the fried chicken, the seafood pancake, and the kimchi fried rice. Fried chicken was crispy but still meaty, seafood pancake was packed with flavor and very filling, kimchi fried rice was perfectly cooked and spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy. I didn't get to try the BBQ pork belly but all my friends said it was great! We also got some beers and soju to drink and let's just say everyone was a bit lit by the time we left. Total came out to about $40 per person including tip. Solid! A couple things to note: they don't have their BBQ stations open right now so if you want a DIY experience, you'll have to go elsewhere. None of us were bothered by this and my friends remarked that the pork was very well cooked. Kong Pocha, you have a new fan! read more

Chicken wings were doing their thing very well big wings, hella juicy and oily like fried chicken should. Was incredible idr the flavor but was good. Seasfood Noodles were great as well and the vibes immaculate. You know the food is flowing here read more
A fun concept Korean restaurant in the heart of Baltimore city. The decor is a throwback to old school drinking joints in Korea and the food is bar food oriented. The service is always helpful with explanations of dishes and the staff speaks English so no need to be intimidated to order! Things I regularly order are the butter fried chicken which is just fried chicken with a lighter sauce but it's still crispy. The dish is pretty big with fries and salad. I've tried the kimchee fried rice and it was absolutely delicious. The cream omelet rice wasn't as heavy as I was worried about and was quite tasty! Would recommend for a quick dinner or a night where you want to hangout with friends while drinking both American and Korean alcoholic drinks! The selection there is a nice intro to Korean drinks! read more

I had them one time late December via Uber eats in the area I was in and I was pressed to get back. Went again early February after work one night was kinda sad cause I didn't want to go by myself but I was welcomed Ordered my food. I could smell soo many spices and seasoning I was reconsidering my chi ice that was decided on in the car. It's very family friendly. Enjoy your meal read more
The fried chicken here is amazing and highly recommend it. They come is large portions and one is definitely enough for 2 people. The salad that comes with it is kinda mid, but the chicken makes up for it. The fried dumplings are okay, but not amazing. The service was great and it gets busy later in the night. read more

This is the sort of place where memories are made. This is because this is one of the few late night grub spots. So if you're in the area and hungry and it's 10 pm, FANTASTIC. The food itself is solid but by far not the best quality Korean food I've had. But if you're sort of drunk, sometimes it doesn't matter. Sometimes you're just there to eat something warm with good company. Plus, this place definitely serves good vibes. I haven't been to Korea, but I imagine there are spots just like this there. Somehow no matter what day you come and how late, this place is busy (contributing to the vibes). Service is solid. A little pricey but you forgive them. When I eventually leave Baltimore, I'll look back on my time at Kong Pocha fondly! read more
Kong Pocha! My biggest salvation when it's Monday and many restaurants are closed yet I need Korean food. Their laid back atmosphere, young crowd, and pub-like feel differentiates it from the other korean spots in town. As many others have pointed out, they are known for their fried chicken. While fried chicken is not my fave, I will say it is quite good. My standard, however, remains as the seafood pancake, and theirs passes the test! There is also a private room in the back for large groups and karaoke nights! Quite fun for a special occasion. Overall, Kong Pocha is a solid offering for Korean food in Baltimore City when many other Korean restaurants are a 30 min drive or more away. read more
The presentation was very nice. The bow was neatly packed and the food nicely arranged. I ordered the KONGBINATION. One taste and I knew this place is not for me. As I forked through the rice, I discovered that the carton was dampened with grease which really made my tummy ache. Didnt like food at all. I enjoy authentic Korean cooking and have had Bulgogi many times and have loved it elsewhere particularly in Ellicott City, but this West 20th Street, Baltimore restaurant did not impress me at all. I hope the food improves. I am a picky diner and an aficionado when it comes to Asian cuisine and when it comes to restaurants in general. read more

TLDR: Hidden gem of a Korean bar/restaurant serving all of your favorites. Bring your drinking buddies and order the fried chicken and jjampong along side a bottle of soju and Hite for the ultimate experience. Vibe: 4/5. Location may seem sketchy from the outside but looks are deceiving. They have a parking lot on the right side of the building so no need to street park. Once inside, you feel like you've been suddenly whisked away to a bar in Seoul. The front half of the restaurant is outfitted with KBBQ burners for those that want to grill and the back portion is reserved for larger groups not eating KBBQ. Very typical industrial bar decor with Korean pop culture sprinkled throughout the establishment. Service: 5/5. Excellent service the entire night. The wait staff kept the soju and beer flowing from when we arrived around 5pm until closing out at 8pm. Food was brought out at a quick pace as well as the bill when requested. Food/Drink: 5/5. Superlative Korean food. My group of 4 ordered the fried chicken, jjampong, ttkeobokki and pajeon. Everything came out hot and delicious with the highlights being the chicken and the jjampong. Drink wise, they have all the staples for a Korean bar including soju, Hite beer and makkoli just to name a few. We ordered several bottles of flavored soju (pineapple, grape and grapefruit) as well as large bottles of Hite beer to mix. All in all, a great meal with friends in a fun environment that makes you feel at home. read more

The food was very good, the fried chicken was excellent. We had several dishes recommended by Jack our host. Great guy! When we arrived at around 7 they had only a few coustomers but by the time we left it was a full house. Plenty of free parking on the side of the building. So to start, we really enjoyed the pickled items, Kimchi and radishes were a favorite. They have beers and many flavors of Soju, really refreshing and very much appreciated. We started with the Kong combination, pork, beef, fried chicken, rice, etc. then we also had the pork belly, recommended by Jack, which was perfect. Very meaty, although my wife thought it was a bit tough, I enjoyed the flavor and texture. We also had the rice and melted cheese pancake, a very heavy app, but we were here to try everything we could. I thought it had a nice amount of heat, I could have used more in fact. We had a great meal in a very busy spot, (get there early!) and we will go back! read more
It's rare to find a pocha in a city like Baltimore, but this one gives all the best vibes. The food is awesome and pretty reasonably priced, I just wish the drinks were a bit cheaper considering it's a pocha. Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. We appreciate you…
This was the second time my friend and I had the opportunity to eat at Kong Pocha. We split a large order of fried chicken and each ordered some fried rice. I wish so much that I had taken a photo of the shrimp and vegetable fried rice dishes. It was honestly the best fried rice I've had in a very long time. Very fresh and comes with a fried egg on top. I highly recommend giving Kong Pocha a visit. Plus their late hours make this place dream for post-bar munchies. read more
Wonderful Korean gastropub in Baltimore - great for a causal night out with friends! A true authentic Korean gem in Baltimore!! It is like a time capsule of the 90s Korean pojangmacha late night experience, down to the decor and style of the menu. The atmosphere is amazing with amazing food to match. Service was also good and fast. The area is not canton safe but is absolutely worth the visit. Am looking forward to returning to try the karaoke for another fun night out. A must try in Baltimore and for any Korean food enthusiasts! read more
I've placed a few take out orders from this place now with no issues. The food here is a bit more unique from most of the other Korean bbq places I've been to. I've tried their curry omelet, kongbination box, rice cake & soup dumpling, and fried chicken. They've all been so delicious and full of flavor! I highly recommend this place for some of the best Korean food in the city. read more

I visited kong pocha a few times after writing the review. The sweet and spicy fried chicken is some of the best korean fried chicken I have had. I greatly enjoyed the curry cup bap as well. The Curry Omlete and Kimichi Fried Rice are also some of my favorites. Portions are huge and quite filling. Every visit, I am left with plenty of leftovers. There is plenty of area to park your car. Although the area around kong pocha might be surrounded by rats, there are so many options that you cannot go wrong with. Even the vegetarian tofu taste great. The only downside is that there is a long wait time for your food to come out. read more

I came from out of town for a night out and I'm SO GLAD I chose this place after finding it on Google maps! Kong Pocha has an extensive menu and a lot of the dishes pair well with beer and soju. It's definitely a lively place for young people at night and the food is very affordable if you're splitting it with a group. I was really freaking hungry so my partner and I each got a dish plus a seafood pancake plus fried dumplings and we got the banchan for free in the side. The dishes are absolutely meant to be split by two people because I was overstuffed to the max by the end of eating my curry omelet with fried shrimp. The curry sauce was so creamy and so hearty, and it tasted so good with the fluffy omelet that was cooked perfectly. My partner got the Kongbination which came with beef and fried chicken and a fried egg, and the beef was my favorite though he liked the chicken a lot more. The seafood pancake was HUGE and so so crispy on the outside and then soft and gooey on the inside. The dumplings were good though I think I could've done without them. Safe to say, if you're from out of town and are catching a train back or just coming in, definitely go here. It's really close to the station and the service is super quick (and very very nice). The food is 10/10 and the vibes are impeccable! read more
This hole in the wall is some of the best Korean food you will find in Baltimore! Every dish we had was excellent, especially the fried chicken, seafood pancake, and the cheese corn! It can be hard to find a Korean place on the east coast that serves cheesy corn but this place had it, so that's basically an automatic 5 stars for me! The staff was super friendly and the prices were good for the amount of food that you got. The neighborhood looks a little sketch at first glance but well worth a visit! read more
Unfortunately pretty disappointed in our meal here given the really high ratings/reviews, I wanted to love this place. We were craving Korean food and ordered some takeout due to the COVID situation. We ordered the the lemon and butter bone-in chicken, seafood soondobu, and the omurice with tempura shrimp. Breakdown of each dish below: 2.5/5 - Lemon and butter bone in chicken - I was really disappointed in this one. After dreaming of hot crispy flavorful Korean chicken, this is unfortunately not what we got. We did opt for the +$2 option for the lemon/butter but I'm 90% sure that we received the original flavor (either that, or we just couldn't taste any lemon or butter). The chicken tasted like regular fried chicken from an American place and was slightly dry inside but oily outside. There was also no sauce to go with the chicken (good thing we had our own), which would have been alright if it was juicy/flavorful enough on its own. Overall disappointing for the price point (around $25) and the fact that I will probably never actually make the commitment to try the lemon and butter one. 4/5 Omurice - This was the best dish of the meal. I understand because it's takeout, you can't have the perfectly cooked and folded delicate egg or hot/crispy tempura fried shrimp due to the sauces, so removing these two factors, the flavors of the dish were quite tasty! The gravy is a little bit thinner which is perfect for the dish and the rice and egg were also good. 2.5/5 Seafood Soondobu. We opted to try one of our favorite classic dishes with seafood and we were unfortunately pretty disappointed. The soup itself was watery/lacked the rich flavor that we like and there was not much seafood (2 clams, 2 mussels, one gummy bear size piece of octopus and a shrimp). The rice that accompanied this dish was cooked perfectly though. Overall, we spent about $70 for these three items and just felt that everything was just not meeting our standards. Hopefully, our experience was just an anomaly. read more
Love this place! Heading out of downtown Baltimore? Kong Pocha is an ideal place to stop, relax, enjoy quality authentic food. From the outside, the place looks run down, and it looks the same from inside as well. But the attention, concern and individualizations of the experience makes this place great. Shift ends at 2 am and your hungry? Love this place! Maybe not on Saturday night, but weekend days for sure. Not a first date place either. It a great place to bring a group and bond. Did I mention the soju? Yes, there is soju of every flavor-grapefruit to plum and most flavors in between. Saki too I've heard. This is a Bawlmer gem! read more
I love me some Kong Pocha!! This is a authentic Korean spot right in the city with a FREE parking lot on the side of it. My prayers have been answered. I've gotten most of the items here since I typically come in large groups and we like to share. The portions here are HUGE! My service is always fast and the atmosphere is fun, but it can be a little loud. Probably not the best first date spot where you want to get to know someone, but perfect for the second date. ;) I normally get a cup-bap bowl, the curry omelette, or the Kongbination bowl. The cheese corn is absolutely bonkers as well. You can't go wrong with any of the food options here. Enjoy! read more

I crave Kong Pocha at least once a week and end up going at least monthly, so it's past time I review it! I cannot recommend this Station North hidden gem enough. Always playing K-Pop and other Korean music with Korean idol and/or vintage movie posters on the walls, the inside is dark and never more than half full. Open 4pm-2am most days, this authentic Korean restaurant guarantees bang for your buck with large portions and banchan with every meal. The last time I went, I was craving cheese (which we all know is a specific, all-consuming type of hunger), so I got the Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) with Cheese appetizer; the satisfyingly chewy bite-size cakes were topped with mozzarella and covered in a perfect medium-spicy broth. Like always, I got the Kongbination for my entree, a great deal for only $18.99; this large dish comes with tender beef and pork bulgogi, crispy fried chicken, and a fried egg on rice. I highly recommend this Baltimore Korean spot - come hungry and ready to bring home leftovers. read more
