    Chicken Burrito Bowl
    Katie H.

I have been here many times since they opened and I feel like I need to defend them against some of these reviews! They 100% deserve five stars! Finally, a place that has HEALTHY, CLEAN, and MACRO friendly options! Not only are they clean, healthy and macro friendly ingredients, they are also QUICK. The inside is bright and clean and the decor is tasteful. I love it. I have tried just about all of their bowls and there isn't one I don't like. The service is always timely, the employees are very sweet and accommodating, and the food, again, is so yummy and not too expensive. This person who said they got "maybe a cup of food for $42.00" is exaggerating. The bowls are usually between $14 and $18 depending on any substitutions or additions I make and it is plenty food. I am rarely able to finish it in one sitting. Some people have mentioned the bowls being dry without an extra side of sauce (so order an extra side of sauce.....?), I don't entirely agree, but I think people need to remember that this place is all about healthy eating. Drowning the bowls in sauce, changes the calories and macros in the bowls. It's like when you eat a salad, but then smother it in ranch dressing. You might as well have had the cheeseburger, because It's no longer as healthy as you want it to be. I think it's important for people to remember this is healthy eating. This is not smothered in sauce, cooked in butter, full of preservatives eating, it's healthy! This is what good wholesome clean food tastes like! It's good and good for you! Someone else said the mango salsa was cold. I don't think I have ever had heated up or warm mango salsa, and I'm not sure I'd want it, so I don't think this is something to hold against them either. I have had the blackened shrimp with mango salsa bowl many times. It's actually one of our favorites! I usually want extra mango salsa, because the combination with the lime creme and the blackened shrimp is perfection! It's so good! I love their food and I love that we have them as an option in Spokane now! We can finally get a quick healthy meal that we can feel good about! I will keep going and keep trying everything you make! Just tried the new Miso Ginger bowl last week and it was AMAZING.

Good food! Just super pricey. The entire menu is gluten free so that's nice for people with an allergy. Staff were helpful on answering questions and were knowledgeable. Store is clean!

    Strawberry lemonade

We went here for the first time last weekend. We ordered two bowls with a strawberry lemonade. Both bowls were fresh and clean but a little dry without a side of sauce. I got the spicy sriracha to add to my honey siracha bowl and it added the creamyness I was looking for. I only wish I would have known they were going to charge me $2.50 for a half empty cup. The lemonade was nicely balanced and I appreciated it wasn't too sweet. The service was okay, but I thought the remodel was beautifully done. The space was bright, clean and inviting.

Mary and I stopped in for our first visit here. This is a new restaurant, only open two weeks. Mary ordered the Teriyaki bowl with brown rice, everything was fresh and tasty, but standard for this type of dish. I had the blackened shrimp bowl, the shrimp were tasty but I would not have called them blackened; the mango salsa was good but very cold. We would come back.

    mini teriyaki bowl with pineapple

I got the mini teriyaki bowl with pineapple. The pineapple is extra money btw. But it is really good. The store is really clean and cute. The girl I ordered from was really nice and I got my food really fast. I would definitely come back. They also have like fats/calorie/ and other stuff listed on their menu which is cool.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

Finally the strawberry oat bar was simply the best tasting thing I've had in a while and it melted in your mouth. Soooooo amazing! The ambience was a bit loud as it is a small space but I wouldn't want it to be any bigger other wise you would be able to see the amazing chef's in the kitchen whipping up your food. Over all this place is definitely worth checking out and I will be back soon!

We went to Cascadia Public House on a Sunday with pretty high expectations after reading so many…read moregood reviews, but unfortunately it was a letdown from start to finish. The biggest issue right away was how long the food took. It felt like we were waiting forever, and by the time it finally came out, it definitely didn't feel worth it. We started with the pretzel, which honestly was nothing like a pretzel. It tasted more like glorified fried dough and didn't have that classic pretzel texture or flavor at all. For drinks, mine was way too strong and just didn't taste good. It wasn't balanced at all and ended up being hard to even enjoy. For my main, I ordered the Cascadia burger medium, but it came out clearly well done and overcooked. On top of that, the egg on it was severely undercooked.. some of the whites were still clear and slimy, which completely ruined it for me. I had also heard good things about the mac and cheese, so I gave it a try, but that was another disappointment. It was bland and runny, and even after adding salt and pepper, it still had no real flavor. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, which wasn't terrible, but it was definitely on the dry side. They were also out of fries, so he had to get fruit instead, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, the food took way too long, the quality didn't match the price, and the experience just didn't live up to the hype at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish.
