Eating at Koko's was a treat, and I really appreciated the service despite not being of the same culture. The ambiance errs on the louder side and caters to normal parties of 3+ to larger ones of 10+. The staff members were all patient in explaining entrees and checking in once the food was served. Parking was not the easiest since the plaza is small, but there is plenty of street parking, which makes for a nice after-meal stroll. I ordered a combination to try their beef and lamb. For the price that it was, it definitely leaned on the pricier side. Once seated, I was served what felt like the MOST refreshing glass of water - the perfect temperature, not ice cold but not lukewarm either, cool but not chilled. The pickled vegetables were a nice appetizer and condiment to the entree. Their rice was also extremely tasty, and it had accents of butter - smooth and sweet. The meats (though a tad scarce) were both medium rare and extremely tender. Between bites, there were a several cuts of pita bread as a palate cleanser. The onions and garlic were served with a tasty spice, and the meal ended on a sweet note with the tomato. Overall, service was welcoming, and food was tasty. The least enjoyable restaurant was the lingering small of cigarettes or smoke, but it was a tolerable tradeoff for a tasty dinner.

First time trying Koko's and it was absolutely everything! We tried a lot of things from the menu ranging from the zesty tabule to the tender sujukh sandwich! The chi kufteh was a bit different than I always have it because it had a lot of tomato paste inside, but nonetheless still very good. The kidye was my absolute favorite alongside the tabule. I can say hands down this was the best tabule I have ever had! The Manti was so so good, tasted very much like what I would have growing up! Our server was also very nice and helpful! The restaurant is also very clean and nice. Overall, a great Middle Eastern restaurant!

Way 2 over priced for what they give you. It's not worth it. If the portion matched the price, it would be worth it.

We ordered the meat combo plate, which came with beef lula kabob as well as chicken kabob and beef kabob pieces. The plate also came with hummus and because I came with my daughter and she demanded fries, I replaced the included basmati rice for freshly made fries. In addition, we decided to order a side of baba ganoush, which was very flavorful and just so worth it. The meats were outstanding. Both, chicken and beef kabob pieces were nicely marinated, perfectly grilled and delicious. The beef lula kabob really stood out to me and it's one of the better ones I've had in LA -- very juicy, well marinated ground beef and they cooked it so the juices are trapped inside the lula and they only get released after you bite into it. What I got was a perfect bite every time and those delicious beef juices made my taste buds say Yaaaaay and nourished my soul. Overall, a very good meal at a good price and it had my wife and daughter satisfied. The spot is located on a medium-size plaza with many parking spots. The inside is clean and has about 8 tables for dining in. The service was good and friendly. A worthy local place for a quick, delicious Mediterranean food. Will come back again!

For $21.99 it's worth getting especially since it comes with saffron rice, salad, pita bread, and a choice of regular hummus or spicy hummus. There are places that try too hard. And then there are places like Zaatar N'More -- where flour,…read morefire, and a little bit of salt tell you everything you need to know. We ordered the zaatar and cheese stuffed mannaish-- blistered, golden, perfumed with wild thyme and sesame. It's the kind of bread that makes you shut up for a minute. The zaatar hits first -- earthy, sharp, unapologetically Levantine -- then the molten cheese pulls it together like a band that's been playing the same neighborhood spot for decades. Honest. Direct. No shortcuts. Then the adjaruli kachapuri lands on the table -- a canoe of blistered dough carrying a molten lake of cheese and egg. You tear into it, stir the yolk through the cheese, and suddenly you're participating in something ancient and slightly indecent. The crust has chew and character. The filling is rich without apology. It's comfort food with backbone. But here's the thing -- the soul of the place isn't just in the oven. It's Hasan and his family. They introduced themselves, welcomed us in like we were regulars, and made it clear this isn't just a business -- it's their table. That kind of hospitality can't be faked. It's either there or it isn't. Zaatar N'More is the real deal: generous food, proud hands, no pretense. Five stars. Go hungry. Leave like you've been taken care of

I discovered Zaatar and More through Yelp, drawn in by the glowing reviews and let me tell you,…read morethey did not disappoint. Every single thing I'd read was true, and then some. From the moment you walk in, you feel it,this isn't just a restaurant, it's a family. The owner and chef is hands-on in the best way he's right there serving his customers, treating everyone like they're sitting at his own dinner table. And ladies, he gets it without me saying a word, he brought over an extra chair for my purse. My purse got its own seat. At this point the food hadn't even arrived yet and he'd already won me over. That kind of thoughtfulness set the tone for the entire visit. And that's literally his philosophy whatever he'd proudly serve at home is what he serves here. That kind of integrity is rare, and you taste it in every bite. Speaking of bites the beef shawarma and chicken are chef's kiss. Every mouthful is one of those "oh wow" moments where the food just speaks for itself. And everything is baked, not greasy or heavy, which made the whole meal feel indulgent without the guilt. We also had the stuffed cheese and zaatar a dish I was told he created back in 1986 (before I was even born, hehe!). There's also a signature dish called the Diala Special, named after his daughter, which is such a thoughtful and personal touch and it's absolutely delicious too. Honestly, everything on the menu is top notch. Then there's the baklava. I love baklava, but I've had plenty of versions elsewhere that are dry or leave an unpleasant aftertaste. Not here. This one is on point perfectly moist, balanced, and so good that writing this review is genuinely making me crave another piece right now. The staff are family members, so you know the care and quality is consistent throughout. The space itself is clean, modern, and welcoming. If you're looking for a tight-knit family business with soul, flavor, and heart this is it. I'll be back.

So where do I even start with this place…read more.. I first saw Ara's Shawarma on TikTok. The owner was posting videos claiming it's the best viral crispy shawarma. I'm not gonna lie--I was skeptical. It didn't look that crazy compared to other spots, and the videos felt a little awkward. It just didn't fully sell me at first. I actually DM'd him kind of joking around, half messing with him but also lowkey trying to offer some marketing help or pointers. I honestly thought he might get defensive, especially since he's young--but instead, he asked to hop on a call. That call completely changed my perception. The guy is calm, humble, and genuinely kind. No ego, no attitude--he was just open to feedback and wanted to improve. That alone made me respect him and the business way more. You can tell he really cares about what he's building. Now the food... I tried it for the first time today. Got 3 beef shawarmas since that's what everyone says to get. Only downside--they didn't have tahini, which in my opinion is a must for beef shawarma. They offer pomegranate molasses instead, which I personally don't think goes with it. But let me tell you... I devoured two and gave one to my girl. No exaggeration--this is probably the best beef shawarma I've had in a long time. And I LOVE shawarma. I even have my own recipe at home, and this beat mine by a mile. The meat was soft and tender (but not mushy), super juicy--to the point you honestly don't even need sauce. That's rare. Most places mess it up by being dry. Flavor was on point, super aromatic, just overall done right. I'd give it a 9.7/10--only because no tahini, which I had to make myself. But for $13, you're getting legit quality. Also worth mentioning--the service was great. The guy at the register (didn't catch his name) was super kind and helpful. When your food's ready, they bring it out and actually remember what sauces and stuff you needed. Little things like that matter. Overall--don't sleep on this place. A lot of people talking trash on TikTok are just hating or don't really know shawarma. I almost let that sway me, but I'm glad I tried it myself. Spot is spacious, right on Ventura, tons of street parking and I think there's parking in the back too. Next time I'm trying the chicken--I'll update when I do.
