    Chicken Gyro Sandwich Combo
    Sophie O.

I've lived in the area all my life and I haven't been here, a shame! Tried this place today and it was truly wonderful! ‍ Tried their chicken gyro sandwhich and their beef souvlaki sandwich SO delicious! Ordered it to go but would love to dine in, the restaurant looks so cute, parking is in the alleyway!

I was doing laundry and needed somewhere for a quick bite. I did not want McDonalds that's down the street. So I decided to have Greek!! Hands down better than McDonalds any day!! This is a small space but ample seating. A lot of people take out. But it's nice inside and service was fast. There's only one place to get a great Greek salad and that's from an original!! I got a gyro plate, salad and fries. Everything was tasty. I need to add this place in my rotation of dining out with the family!!

Really good gyro wraps! We stopped by for dinner and placed an order to go. They have tons of dishes on their menu - everything from gyro sandwiches to platters to salads. If you get the meal as a combo, it comes with fries and a drink. I went with a mixed beef, lamb and chicken gyro wrap. Instead of tzatziki, I got it with hummus since I can't have dairy. They definitely made it with just the mixed beef/lamb gyro meat and there was no chicken inside but it was SO good! I really enjoyed every last bite. Not as good as the gyros from Greece but it definitely comes close!

After our trip to Greece, my friends and I were craving tzatziki. This place hit the spot, but there's still no tzatziki like tzatziki in Greece. I rarely come here, but when I do, I always forget how darn good this place is. I can't believe I don't come here often enough. First off, Firehouse Taverna is a Greek staple in the SFV. The salad just came out and it was freshly cut! I am not into tomatoes but they were so fresh! The salad was not wilted, and with every bite it was crunchy, fresh, delicious goodness. It's so fresh, I felt compelled to write a review on how good the salad was, and how this salad is always the introduction to a great meal here at Firehouse. I always get the chicken souvlaki plate with fries. The chicken is hot, juicy, tender, and flavorful. The fries and rice are so good, I'm always torn between the two sides. I could eat here everyday but it would be hard to not get any of the delicious carbs like: the fresh, hot, fluffy pita, or the light, airy, and buttery rice, or crispy seasoned fries. Everything is so good. The service is on par. The ambiance has soft, Greek music playing in the background. This is always a solid meal. Every time.

This place is located in Reseda, California, on the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Victory Boulevard, right next to Starbucks. I've been coming here for many years since it's down the street from where I work, and I've always really enjoyed the food except that it tends to give me a bit of heartburn. They've always been known for offering good value, quality, and quantity for as long as I can remember. I used to come here and get the chicken gyro sandwich, and it was always packed with so much meat that it would fall out as you were eating it. Yesterday, my wife and I decided to order chicken gyro sandwiches one for each of us and let me tell you, it was nothing to write home about. The sandwiches were pretty empty, with way more onions than chicken. I could literally taste the onions more than the chicken gyro. The chicken wasn't seasoned properly, and it felt like whoever prepared the sandwiches had been told to cut back on the meat. Meanwhile, the price has gone up over the years. I remember when it was around nine dollars, and they'd really load up the sandwich with chicken. That's definitely not the case anymore. I don't know if this issue is just with the chicken gyro or if it applies to their other menu items too. I also don't ever recall seeing this place busy every time I stop by, there's rarely more than one person eating inside. I guess most people just order takeout. The ambience is what you'd expect from a Mediterranean restaurant that serves Middle Eastern food. Either way, I'm not really impressed with this place anymore and probably won't be coming back. The economy is clearly taking a toll on portion sizes at most restaurants you can see it everywhere they charge more and give you less. This place is a perfect example of that. Don't you think if they charge you more, you should get more? It just doesn't make sense to me.

food 5/5 service 4/5 ambiance 5/5 10+ yrs of Firehouse. Still legit. Fries and gyro meat are amazing. Although, the yogurt sauce sometimes is off- sometimes bland, sometimes crazy delicious, sometimes watery, sometimes thick... idk depends on the cook- still a solid food spot.

Pretty mid mix gyro and fries. Too salty, very plain gyro overall, fries also very mid. Overpriced as well. Won't be returning.

    Can I order party trays?

Yes I am sure they can do those for you.

    Do you make Sheftalia?

    Call and ask them..

Does this place have vegan options? I am looking for lunch spot for group and one of our group is vegan.

There are several vegetarian options but they all have Feta in them so the only option for a Vegan would be a Greek Salad with out Feta cheese. And I love their Greek salad.

Three of them have two chairs each, while the others have 4 chairs. The menu is laminated and comes with numerous mediterranean dishes, and yes, there are kabobs. I chose the beef lule kabob entree, that comes with two minced kabobs, rice, grilled tomato, jalapeno and a very small cucumber tomato salad, some hummus too, all plated together. I also ordered their thick yoghurt with shallots to accompany the menu item. The Kabobs were grilled to order, could have used more flavor and were slightly overcooked. Overall, the components blended harmoniously. What stood out was their pita bread, grilled just right and so pillow soft on the inside. That with the yoghurt was absolutely divine. There was also a starter that came with the dish. I chose the lentil soup over the salad. Wow, an excellent selection. The perfect temperature, a nice mix of spices, warm aroma, enticing flavor and tongue feel. This introduction may have surpassed the rest that was to follow. I would go there specially to get the lentil soup alone, to go. Service here was high class, attentive and friendly. Definitely, worth a repeat visit.

I was a slight bit off but not sick. I did want something light so the order went as follows: Pickled veggies, hummus, Armenian salad, moutabel. The serving dishes were nice and different making the meal so attractive. We all shared bites of each others food and enjoyed knowing that the next we come we know again what we want. Service was lovely and we met George and his family, who were so very nice and welcoming. To have dinner at a family establishment is heart felt and nostalgic, because I grew up in a restaurant environment. George's mother in law came over to us and gave us fresh made cookie biscuits to try as dessert. We couldn't stop thanking them for the entire dining experience. It's a mom and pop shop.
