We arrived early in the evening and they were still able to accommodate us. The food was visually fantastic as well as the taste. I would definitely go there again. I felt very comfortable and relax in the restaurant.

Delicious, authentic Persian food with amazing flavors and beautifully prepared dishes. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. A wonderful place to enjoy great Persian cuisine. Highly recommend!

Beautiful new Persian restaurant in the Valley! My family decided to try out Ayvana over the weekend and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our server was Neda and she was very friendly and attentive. The kabob koobideh was juicy, tasty and cooked to perfection. I personally like the kabob barg best, the meat was very tender. We also tried a couple of appetizers...the tahdig topped with stew and the halim bademjan, all were excellent. I also loved the design and decor of the restaurant. The dark green and gold tones used throughout and beautiful lighting fixtures made you feel like you stepped inside a glamorous speakeasy bar or upscale lounge. The only reason I took off 1 star is because I was extremely put off by another guest who was allowed to bring their small dog inside the restaurant while they dined. And no, this definitely wasn't a service animal. I understand this may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think pets should be allowed inside the dining area.

Love love love this place! Ali, the owner, spared no expense in creating a modern, comfortable atmosphere. The food is fantastic- order anything, you'll love it! Service is top notch- our food came out hot and fresh.

My husband and I came with my sister in law and her husband to Ayvana and we are completely and utterly blown away by the quality of each dish, how delicious and well made they are, and above all, how amazing staff was! The servers were so sweet and brought our food out very timely. Everything we ate was perfectly cooked and tasted very delicious. Next time, when it's not so hot out, I'll go back to try their Ash Reshteh as it looks so appetizing! I highly recommend trying it here! It's a sister restaurant to their very popular Ali Baba. You won't regret it!

This is a newer ish restaurant and we were so surprised by how good the food and the ambiance especially the services. Inside is beautifully decorated and also have outdoor seating, they also have a big area for private events looks very nice even the bathroom is super nice. Highly recommend it.

It's been awhile since I visited Ayvana. Persian restaurants usually start to lose quality after a few months, and I I happy to see, that Ayvana has maintained their high standards. I was greeted with a smiling hostess and the wait staff. I chose the patio for a change, and found it to be clean and comfortable. I ordered my favorite (beef soltani) medium rare, but before the food arrived, I was surprised by a complimentary cucumber-yogurt appetizer; a must try. The yogurt is made on site and it is rich and creamy. Food arrived hot and perfectly portioned. Ground beef kabobs are the standard to judge Persian restaurants by, and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Barg, which is made with filet mignon, was tender, juicy and full of flavor. Add to that the attentive and engaging staff, and you just can't fail. Definitely stop by, if you are in Woidland Hills, Tarzana or the surrounding areas.

Had the most amazing time enjoying Persian food that tasted even better and fresher than homemade food. Neda was super sweet. She welcomed us so kindly. Will definitely go back again.

EDIT JANUARY 2025: My family has now been dining at this…read morefamily owned restaurant for a decade now. I will jokingly say, the biggest negative of this restaurant is that it has officially ruined every other Mediterranean & middle eastern restaurant for us. We love it here THAT much. No matter how often we try other places (usually on a Monday, when they're closed), we always want to come back here. The prices have been rising steadily, as has everything around us unfortunately. But one thing that hasn't changed is how incredible their food is, how massive the portions are, what a bang for your buck you get, & how wonderful their service is. The owner & his mom are simply the best, always have a smile, & always so kind & know ahead of time what we want. We do a catering order/family style order quite often, either for holidays or celebrations, and the food is always a hit with EVERYONE. In the few VERY rare times over the past 10 years that some things were not up to their usual quality, they did everything they could to make things right! That speaks volumes at not only how amazing the food is, but how great the owners are. Their lunch special is phenomenal, especially for the price. Literally a few bucks more than what fast food restaurants are now charging for a "combo" meal, but here you get a home cooked gourmet feast. You can't go wrong with anything. Their tender beef filet & chicken thigh kabobs are our favorite. We like chicken breast as well, which is very delicious here, but love that this is one of the rare few restaurants that also offer chicken thigh, which is juicier and more flavorful than breast. Their buttery & fluffy rice pilaf is so "simple" yet is simply the best. Having it soak up the kabob juices or their amazing toum/garlic sauce is the best! Also love the pickles & turnips and other pickled veggies they serve as a free appetizer, along with onion slices. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. It's simple & straightforward. The portions are massive. The taste and flavors & quality of everything, especially their masterful kabobs, is exquisite. I hope Kebab Halebi stays open forever.

We will miss you and miss the lovely lady sitting on the right and greeting her customers and making her amazing meals. Great family atmosphere and classic Mediterranean vibes. Please continue to support your local businesses. Sadly its not easy. We will miss this place fondly.

Interior is standard order at the counter, get a number, kitchen staff brings the food to you finding you by the plastic number stand. Limited number of 4 seat and 2 seat tables. Definitely not for large groups. Lot of people do take out. The lady at the counter was friendly taking our orders. 1) Jujeh Kebab/Cornish Game Hen that comes already separated into different body parts that were grilled and seemed finished in an open flame blackening the skin. The Hen has moist meatiness that may come from being vinegar salt brined along with onion, coriander seed. Very satisfying and better than many Persian sit down restaurants in L.A. 1a) Really fresh garden salad of crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy Persian cucumber, roma tomato slices. Thousand Island dressing. 1b Hummus made of puréed chick peas is especially satisfying here. Extra thick, creamy with an almost dairy or mayonnaise like richness. Sprinkling of mild red chile powder. Goes great with the provided Pita bread. 1c) Basmati rice is dry, friable, nutty in texture. Bit of decorative, yellow, turmeric dyed rice on top. Light Umami perhaps due to being cooked with chicken bouillon. 1d) All you can drink Coca Cola from the soft beverage dispenser. $22 for a full, satisfying dinner is a deal. Yelper Rob B. made an excellent suggestion coming here. 4 stars

The shawarma meat was good too, but not quite as flavorful and didn't have nearly as much char. There were also a few chewy pieces, so I definitely preferred the chicken. We also tried the steak wrap, which was good but a little pricey for the size. The steak itself was decent quality and had a nice flavor. The falafel was probably my favorite thing we tried. It had such a unique and delicious flavor and was super crispy and crunchy on the outside. I also really liked the garlic sauce and harissa that came with the meal. Overall, there were a lot of good flavors here, especially the chicken and falafel. I'd definitely come back for those.

My family has been visiting Zankou restaurants in LA my entire life. Although a few locations were…read morealways better than others, we never had a disappointing meal, especially at this Van Nuys location ( at least, their old location before moving) as it became my go-to spot for lunch since I work in the area. Admittedly it has been at least 1-2 years since my last visit so I decided to stop by for lunch today. I have Amex Platinum which gives me $15 credit each month to use for uber or uber eats. I figured I order Zankou for this month's credit. Since using this card, I would check restaurants to see what the price difference was between the app and their own site or restaurant and surprisingly I very rarely saw an upcharge with the app, and those upcharges were just $1 difference. Not a big deal at all. Today, I saw the chicken tarna plate at $23.99 on the app. I was shocked at the price and didn't think for a second the in-restaurant price would be much difference since cost of food is going up everywhere. So I placed my order and went to pick it up. The restaurant, during lunch hour, was dead. Nowhere near as busy as it once was at their old location. Three clueless front-of-house workers chit chatting and moping around didn't help the situation either. I asked the first two to check on my order and neither one did. Finally the third person - after waiting 15 minutes already - told me it would be another 5 minutes. Well that 5 turned into another 15 minutes so finally after 30 minutes I had my food. Let me tell you - the chicken tarna used to be one of my favorite plates to get not just at Zankou, but at any restaurant in LA. They would pile on so much meat that my dad and I could share a plate and be stuffed. It was juicy, tender chicken with amazing flavors. Now? The portion is embarrassing. The chicken is dry, tasteless, and just sad. The toum (garlic paste) is still good but they don't even fill the container half way and get rude when you try to ask for another saying they charge for it. What made this worse was when I happened to check the website afterwards and noticed the price. They are only charging $17.99 through Zankou. But through food apps - $23.99?? A $6 difference? Are you kidding me? Don't get me wrong, even at $17.99 the plate isn't worth it. But to then charge $6 while nearly every other restaurant charges at most $1 more ? That's plain stupid. My family grew up eating Zankou in Lebanon. Even with the tragedies, I know the Iskenderian family would be proud of what had become of Zankou. Now? The Iskenderians are turning over in their graves. How disappointing.
