Ay, yoooo. That Lentil soup was Fire. Didn't even order it. XD Ordered the $60 for 4 ppl... Let's see how this goes... Ill be back to tell you guys.

The worst kabob ever. Ordered a chicken breast kabob. The meat wasn't seasoned. Bare chicken. The meat was boiled prior to grilling to save time. Took all the flavor away. The meat was tough and dry. Bec. It was made with frozen chicken instead of fresh chicken. Lol. Cucumber & Tomato salad should be called just Cucumber salad. No Tomatos. Cheap owner. The owner charges $1. Service charge when paying with a credit card. The lunch was $12+$1. Service charge. +$1.20 tax. =$14.20 for a simple lunch!!!! Go elsewhere. I have no idea how this place stays in business.

Walk in and the guy is eating takes my order while chewing and talking with his mouth full, just gross. Bought a salmon kabob plate for 20.00. It's 98 degrees today. I asked for a cup of ice 3 times. Got a warm cup with melted ice. Someone needs to revamp this place. Higher someone who is more responsive. I didn't like the food.

On Wednesday, the chicken and beef kebob special is a $1.50 off. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/paraiso-kebab-van-nuys?select=r5LZS45Z8VSAFDmDGp7GHw#r5LZS45Z8VSAFDmDGp7GHw) I'm not a frequent eater of this type of food but this dish wasn't complex and was still tasty. Ground beef and ground chicken on a stick with some white rice.....can't get any simpler than that! They also have Jarritos Mandarin Orange soda chillin' in the fridge, and I can never pass that up when I see it. One old man runs the show here and I love seeing mom & pop shops sticking to their roots. You might have to ring the cashier bell to get service though.

We ordered the meat combo plate, which came with beef lula kabob as well as chicken kabob and beef kabob pieces. The plate also came with hummus and because I came with my daughter and she demanded fries, I replaced the included basmati rice for freshly made fries. In addition, we decided to order a side of baba ganoush, which was very flavorful and just so worth it. The meats were outstanding. Both, chicken and beef kabob pieces were nicely marinated, perfectly grilled and delicious. The beef lula kabob really stood out to me and it's one of the better ones I've had in LA -- very juicy, well marinated ground beef and they cooked it so the juices are trapped inside the lula and they only get released after you bite into it. What I got was a perfect bite every time and those delicious beef juices made my taste buds say Yaaaaay and nourished my soul. Overall, a very good meal at a good price and it had my wife and daughter satisfied. The spot is located on a medium-size plaza with many parking spots. The inside is clean and has about 8 tables for dining in. The service was good and friendly. A worthy local place for a quick, delicious Mediterranean food. Will come back again!

It is better than their beef koobideh and barg, though those are still good. I have had better beef koobideh at other restaurants like Raffis or Shekarchi. The maast o khiar is really good too. The service is excellent - all the food came out quickly and the servers were nice. I will say I am Persian (and look very obviously so) and for some reason one lady only looked at/spoke to my husband and not me. I would say it's 4.5 stars because I was put off by this. We ended up ordering 1 combination appetizer and the dolmeh was good. Usually I may not like the flavor at some places, but this one I was able to eat. We ordered Juicy chicken (2), koobideh Kabob, Naderi kabob(2) and boneless lamb (2). They were able to plate them family style for sharing and so we got the mixed rice so we can try one od each type. They were nice enough to give a little extra rice to make the presentation of the plate look full. We were able to get 3 salads to get served family style as well. The sadaf salad came in the biggest plate to share, the beet and shirazi salad came in smaller portions. The chicken was big and juicy! All the meats we ordered tasted good... soft and tender. I really enjoyed the beet salad as it also had some sweetness to it. The mixed rice variety allowed us to try all the choices: Albaloo had sour cherries in it, Zareshk had barberries (was my husband's favorite), baghali has lima beans and dill, Asas has lentils raisins and dates making it a sweeter rice dish. They could have provided more bread for our appetizer platter and since we had more people but if you ask for more they will bring more. Everyone enjoyed the food. We did have a lot of leftovers so it would have been nice for our server to let us know to order a little less. We probably could have gotten away with a couple orders less. Also would be nice if they have some kind of chili or hot sauce or peppers for those that like a little more spice to their meal. It wasnt too busy when we went (but it was a weekday) so our party felt like everything turned out well food-wise and service was attentive, just a tad on the pricier side (Juicy chicken is $28 for 5 pieces and rice, and lamb and Naderi were $40 &$39).

They've always been super accommodating because my coworkers and I make pretty big orders and when I arrive, it's always ready and pack. Which is super helpful when you have to drive during rush hour. Now let's talk about the food. You have to get the beef shawarma wrap. I've had wraps here and there but, never have I had a wrap as good as the one I've had here. As soon as the took my first bite, my head started nodding up and down. As in yes, yes, yes....this is amazing. My other favorite food option is the Lahme. I never had anything like it. It flavorful and just keeps opening up the more you eat it. There is no lack of seasoning in any of food and everything a depth of flavor I've never experienced before. You can feed 1-2 people with either the beef shawarma or chicken shawarma plate. They are not shy with either protein. If I can give you some advice, it would be to eat there. Because if you get it to go, you will be starving and hangry all the way home because everything smells just as good as it taste. All the way to work I can hear my stomach rumbling because of how good everything smells.

If you pay further attention to him, and read the menu carefully, and you scan past all the American style pizza, you will see that there are a few Armenian dishes down at the bottom of the menu. Now here's where you do yourself a solid. You order yourself the traditional Armenian mkhlu, and a Georgian temouri. Yes I know you can't pronounce these, but GG is polite and will not correct you. The mkhlu is a delicately spiced tomato omelet from his homeland, with lots of cilantro and paprika and delicate spices; and the tamouri is a very thin pizza with meat and cheese, again with incredible delicate spicing. There are certainly more expensive restaurants in LA, but I'm telling you from the bottom of my Yelp Elite status, that GG's tiny, clean little hole in the wall, is the best restaurant in Los Angeles right now.

When in Sherman oaks this has become one of my go-to spots for flavorful Mediterranean food. My must-order items are the hummus, Brussels sprouts, Moroccan fried chicken, rice, and of course the pita you absolutely have to get the pita. I've also tried the watermelon salad, which was excellent, though I think it's seasonal. The fried cauliflower, however, is a hard pass for me. Something about the Brussels sprouts here is next-level, they're honestly some of the most flavorful I've ever had in my life. I could easily eat the whole dish myself. I also love that many items come as small plates, which makes them perfect for sharing. The Moroccan fried chicken is another standout it is super flavorful and pairs perfectly with the rice, hummus, and pita. Now, the service is where this place falls short. The last few times I've visited, the experience hasn't been great. The older blonde woman with very short hair has been particularly unpleasant, and when I visited the week before Thanksgiving, the overall service was especially bad. They have parking in the back and it's shared with other businesses and it is a paid parking so you pay at the little parking kiosk. Even with the inconsistent service, the food keeps me coming back. All in all, Mizlala is a great place for delicious dishes, and I would still recommend it just be prepared for service that can be hit or miss.
