Went here on a Friday night and was super confused bc the original Koko ramen spot was closed, but it apparently merged with another restaurant at the corner. I was excited to find out that we can now order japanese food and tapas style food! We settled on the pulpo (octopus), the Sapporo Spicy Miso Ramen, and the Koko Tonkotsu Ramen. The octopus came out quickly, but it was horrible. It was bitter, mushy, and burnt? I loveee octopus and sometimes would get the packet ones from Costco and those are SO much better than this one. My date and I just left the rest on the table for it to be taken away and omgggg it stank! Really wanted that octopus out of here. But the wait staff seemed to be bombarded or something bc no one really came to check on us for a long time. We waited maybe 15-20 minutes for our ramen to come out. When it finally came, we were disappointed. My spicy ramen was really sub par. Noodles were dead! I was looking for bouncy noodles but these were just not it! And the broth and "spice" had no depth. It felt like i made my own dashi and mixed it in with chicken soup and just dumped a bit of cayenne pepper in the broth. Not impressed. But the pork was decent. The only decent thing about the ramen. It was $17-$18 for the ramen - it was small and not good. Not worth. My date's tonkatsu ramen was also not great. I tried one sip of the broth and it was sigh, not good. I don't enjoy bamboo shoots and it reeked of it. So happy I didn't get this. Okay, so far disappointing octopus and ramen. We close the bill and my date ends up getting a drink from the bar in the takeaway cups. Omg even the drink was horrible.

This place is a crime against ramen. It was a chilly night and my BF and I were in the mood for ramen, so we stopped in. Service was nice (the one highlight). We both had a bowl and left, and 2 weeks later we still go "that was some horrible ramen." The pork belly was hard. The egg was HARD BOILED. The tonkotsu broth was a chicken base. The ramen itself was lukewarm. Next time we'll save $20 and just get a cup of noodles from the store.

I highly recommend Koko Ramen the food was fresh and delish plus it was cute small setting like having a meal at a friend's home. The noise level was fine not overwhelming. My hubby and I had a date night craving some noodles and soup. Since we were in Ditmas Park hood we hit up this place Koko Ramen. I immensely enjoyed the food. The seaweed salad was fresh with sweet sauce a great combination together. The veggie bun was flavor-able it consisted of cucumber, lettuce, tofu as the protein with a perfectly made mayo dressing, loved it. My vegetarian Ramen soup was awesome. The medley of veggies especially the mushrooms truly made the soup taste bold filling me up, yes I was a happy lady. I some traditional green tea with was perfect for this meal. The server was great with a nice smile on face thank us for eating at the establishment.

Koko Ramen is a cute, intimate spot on Cortelyou that serves ramen, Japanese snacks, sake, beer, and more. I don't eat ramen too often and am not the best judge of it, but my boyfriend said the Koko tonkotsu ramen was just okay. I did have some of the ramen myself and wasn't too impressed. I found it to be on the saltier side. However, I absolutely loved the crispy shrimp bun with tartar sauce and the chicken wings. The buns weren't large and the crispy shrimp bun was $6, which some might consider pricey given the size, but the few bites it took me to finish it were crunchy and so, so tasty. I wouldn't take out a single ingredient from it. The chicken wings were tender and juicy and had an excellent crisp. We couldn't get enough! We shared a melon soda, which was refreshing and delicious on its own and paired really well with everything we ordered. Next time I dine at Koko, I'll be fine just ordering a bunch of crispy shrimp buns and wings and a melon soda. Taste | 4 Atmosphere | 4 Presentation | 4 Service | 4 OVERALL | 4

Decent spot for ramen. Flavors were good but I can't say it was my favorite. It didn't quite hit the mark.

Yummmmm. Absolutely loved the ramen we had here!! It's a tiny little adorable place. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner on Tuesday around 7:30 and it was full, we waited 10 min or so for a table. We ended up ordering takoyaki to start, beef ramen, and roast duck ramen. Everything was absolutely delicious. The takoyaki was just the right texture. Lots of places I've tried, it's really mushy and the outside is soft. The takoyaki here was crispy on the outside and not mushy at all. My beef ramen was awesome. Beef was a bit dry but the noodles were cooked just right, broth wasn't too salty (I normally don't finish my broth because it's always too salty for me but totally finished this one), and the ingredients all went so well together. I loved the pickled cucumbers to balance out the saltier side of the soup. My girlfriend's duck ramen was great too. The duck skin was very crispy even in the broth. Service was excellent too and food came out really quickly. Will be coming back here regularly since winter is coming and I'll need my regular dose of hot noodle soup.

My girlfriend and I were so happy to have stumbled on a great ramen spot. Not only is the food delicious, it's also a really cute restaurant perfect for dates. We can't wait to be back to try their other types of ramen and appetizers! I had the duck ramen which seemed to me like a Chinese / Japanese fusion dish and it was delicious. If you like fatty Chinese roasted duck, you would love this ramen. The skin of the duck somehow remained crispy even though it was in soup. The soup was rich and a little sweet which complimented the duck. The texture of the noodles were my favorite kind: wavy, just slightly chewy, and not over cooked. Finally, even the Bok Choy (Chinese vegetable) was very crisp and fresh. I'm not usually a fan of Bok Choy because it can be hard to chew, but this place clearly knows how to get fresh ingredients and cook it well. We also had the takoyaki as a quick appetizer which were delicious as well. The outside was slightly crispier than normal which I liked. I've tried a lot of ramen places over years and this one definitely did not disappoint.

One of the best date spots for Ditmas Park locals. The Ramen is average, but the ambience is everything! Natural wood finishings everywhere, candlelit tables, soft music... And the restaurant attracts a sort of quiet soft-speaking sophisticated crowd.

Cute little ramen spot off of courtelyou road. They have vegetarian options which is what drew me to try it. I enjoyed the vegan ramen and kale salad. They also have some sake and beer. They are cash only but they do take Venmo which is a plus. Give it a try.

Found this place when walking around the area looking to grab a bite for lunch on Sunday. For starters, the atmosphere is really great here. Soft background music, bowls on the walls, cool lamps, and great natural light pours through the front windows. The food was also amazing - they have a variety of ramen and some great apps! We had the takoyaki and it did not disappoint. My friend and I had ramen and it was super fresh and filling. This is also a small detail but is very appreciated - they have hooks to hang your coats, so you can get comfortable at your table without worrying about all your winter clothes in the way. I will definitely be back!

Koko Curry Udon Bowl w/o broth

I got delivery from here just now. All I have to say is I was disappointed. We had to wait about an hour for the delivery already, which was whatever. It was cold when it arrived. The price was too much for one bowl (Curry udon- 18$) considering how frugal they were with their toppings. The chicken was the length of my pinkie, and the tofu was just a small yellow disk, with two shrimps. I requested no shrimp, but they put it in any way. There was spinach which wasn't listed as an ingredient in the bowl, and they only gave of 1 boiled egg. The textures were very unpleasant; very squishy and bumpy, but not crispy or flavorful (this goes both for the tofu and the chicken). The broth was okay, nothing special. I was really looking forward to it, but what I got was not worth the $18.

Beef Ramen

Cute little ramen spot, serving up great noodles. This place is cash only, but there's a Dunkin Donuts 2 minutes away. I had the Beef Ramen. The broth was pretty good; it was bolder than your average ramen broth, seeming to have a little Worcester sauce in it (maybe, who knows). The beef was tender and nicely cut into thin bites. I really loved all of the smaller details; the egg, which seemed to have a sweet glaze on the yolk, was delicious; the cucumber went nicely all of the other ingredients. I wish there was a bit more meat in this dish, but overall, it was good! Price: 3/5 Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Trying to find another place ramen around the area. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute decor of bowls and chopsticks on the wall. Walked in at 12:30pm on a Sunday for lunch. Was no crowded. Served water and menu by our one and only waiter. He was very friendly with a smile. Here's what we ordered: Duck buns- very flavorful and good. $6? Not so much and only for 1. I would try the pork buns first. Kale salad- was flavorful and more on the salty side. $7? Not so much. Was only leafs and a few pieces of peanuts and sweet potato chips. Very small in portion. Salmon poke- it was their special. Seasoned perfectly. Fresh marinated salmon and love the pineapple combination. Rice was different. Hard grainy in texture. Matter of preference. My 8 year old and I liked it. Not so much with my husband. Duck ramen- very flavorful Peking duck broth. Generous pieces of duck. Complex and more on the salty side. It was a special menu. Big enough portion and just enough additions in the bowl. $15. Koko ramen- their classic Tonkaksu pork broth was very good and tasty. Not too creamy with a touch of sweetness from the actual pieces of cha siew. Their cha siew is especially flavorful and well seared. One of the best pork belly pieces I have had besides for Bassnova Ramen. Overall we love their ramen and its rich broths. There's many other choices of broths on the menu and will go back to try. But not so happy with their appetizers as they are very simple and small in portion for their cost. Service was acceptable as they are very attentive to you. I would recommend and I will go back again if I am around the neighborhood.

Koko tonkatsu noodles are skinner and straighter than traditional wavy ramen noodles. The broth is very dense and flavorful.

It's quite busy but the turnover rate is quick. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of tables and counter seating. But I've got to say I am disappointed by my overall experience based on how popular this spot is. You order from a menu you can write on, which allows you to customize your ramen selections (noodle thickness, broth, add-ons, etc). I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with spicy added. While the broth is pretty good, I think the overall ramen is a bit lacking compared to other ramen spots. I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

We searched Yelp and came across Konoba Yakitori, and it absolutely hit the spot. My daughter and I loved our entire experience--everything from the food to the local neighborhood vibe to the incredibly friendly, attentive staff. Everything we ordered was fresh, cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced. We had the gyoza, edamame, Hamachi Lover, Ebi Shu Mai, and the $15 Beef Set (three beef skewers), accompanied by hot tea and Ramune. The beef skewers were a highlight--tender meat with seasoning that was spot-on. Warm, welcoming, prompt, and super efficient. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, and our waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu. Top-tier service all around. The space is small and cozy with a simple, comfortable design. Seating is a bit tight and close to neighboring tables, but there's nothing wrong with being snug, rght? It gets busy, but customers tend to eat quickly, so even without reservations, the wait moves well. Most importantly, despite it being a intimate spot, we never felt rushed at all. The tonkotsu and miso ramens were good, but not particularly notable. Kyuramen is a chain after all, so the food quality gives that same vibe as comforting when you're just craving some. Second: Got the yakitori platter, beef ramen (seasonal) and curry ramen and I'd personally pass on all of them. Their meats are over cooked which makes them tough. Both times the service was fine, I appreciate the call button so both don't have to wait for awkward timing issues. I do like the aesthetic of the place, especially with the privacy of the room shades/dividers. p.s. don't forget their slurp and win program! When you drink all the broth, there's a word on the bottom (or not) where you can get a free popcorn chicken/drink/etc for your next visit. I thought the chances would be pretty slim, but I got a drink voucher my second time!
