After receiving 3 quotes, to fix a leak from the existing cast iron drain system from our tub, we went with Koko Drains because they had the most comprehensive proposal at the lowest price. They included work on the shower valve which they didn't charge us labor for, just the parts. We also asked if they could include hydro jetting up to the main sewer line and they said yes at no additional cost. The proposal and contract were clear and detailed about what was and what was not included in the scope of their work. The work they did consisted of a complete rebuild of one of our bathroom drainage systems. This included breaking through the flooring and concrete then digging out a lot of dirt to access the pipes. This work could have easily been very messy, but the crew laid down paper and drop cloths inside and a tarp outside so that the floors were protected and the dirt was contained. The job was scheduled to take 3 days, but they finished in two. The person who consulted and provided the quote was Salvador and he explained what he was going to do clearly and in detail. He had visual examples for the work that would be done and communicated genuine care for the our short term and long term satisfaction. Salvador was present on the first day to orient the crew. Arpi was the person who handled the paper work and payments. She also communicated with me about scheduling. Dave came out again, this time to help me troubleshoot my fridge issue. It was leaking water from the bottom front. Dave was just wonderful; proficient, organized, detailed, knowledgeable, and very competent. He cleaned and brushed the coils, then vacuumed the grid. He emptied the condenser pan that was full of water (but not cracked or damaged) and gave me some good advice about options going forward for my 19 year old fridge. He went "above and beyond" the task, taking care to be super meticulous about cleaning up all the gunk behind my fridge. (After 15 years, you can imagine the dirt and detritus!) Quality and service of work- excellent. They replaced our water pressure regulator and valve, which was not closing fully. Service was prompt and David, the tech, was courteous and professional. He asked that we approve a cost estimate of $2,800 by signing an Ipad screen (we couldn't read) in a brightly sunlit frontyard. It seemed steep, but we understood it to be a projection of possible cost and we needed to accept that it could cost that much. They accidentally broke an adjacent PVC connector and had to return the same day to repair the break in order to stop that leak. I am giving an "OK" rating because I think their method of invoicing lacks transparency. Once complete, we were charged the full amount, $2,800, without any detail accounting as to labor, parts, etc. I don't have any other service providers who bill in one lump sum so I questioned the invoice (by email) for detail andit went unanswered until this Yelp rating drew their attention. At that point, Arpi was very accommodating and explained the detail of costs.
