1. I called Rocket Rooter to fix a kitchen drain that had slow drainage: every time I dumped a basin of water into the kitchen the water would back flow onto both sinks. Three weeks ago or so my plumber had already snaked the kitchen line but slow drain was still happening. Since my plumber claimed there was no blockage I did not bother to call him back. Alex came and proposed to replace the pipes and to install a proper cleanup that will take care of the whole line instead of missing out the part from the kitchen (long story). I was not expecting the cost but I went ahead and let him do it. Turns out the job was quite labor intensive: breaking open the area of the house on the outside to expose the pipes and replacing all of them with ABS pipes. He also cleared the drain and ran a camera down the line. 2. Alex found that where the main sewer met the clay pipe there was some leakage and the pipe was full of rocks. He proposed to replace this section before the system backs up. When he came back to finish painting the wall behind kitchen he was all ready to fix this second leak: remove cement on top and dig out all the dirt to expose the pipe about two feet below. He then cut out all the pipes in this section and replaced with ABS pipes. It was another very labor intensive jobs with him and his helper. 3. While paying for the cost of these two jobs was unanticipated I can understand why the fixes were necessary. The drain improves very well even in the bathroom sinks. The kitchen drain has never drain this well since I live in the house. 4. Alex is a very good licensed plumber, very knowledgeable about the subject and has a passion for doing a good job backed by his warranty. Hopefully his solutions can help my water drainage flowing for a while. He also has a friendly and non arrogant demeanor that one can easily relate to. 5. As for masonry work to patch up the broken up structure parts, I must say Alex's stucco work needs more improvement. read more

I had a water leak behind my shower wall and they quoted and fixed the issue at a great competitive price (I called 3 other companies). 2. Transparency of work. Rocket Rooter told me where the problem was, what to expect, and what they would do to fix the damaged area. There was no adding on any other issues but they did give recommendations on what should be done and gave option of whether move forward with those recommendations or not. 3. Timely. I personally like to support local businesses so when the house was having problems, I turned to Yelp to find Alex. The house I'm in was built in the 1920s with copper pipes running through the home and ceramic pipes from the floor down. We had a multiple amount of issues prior to our date of service. Our laundry water exit pipe would get clogged, so we just left the pipe open to drain into the driveway. We figured this exit pipe to be the responsible for other problems. In previous years we would call plumbers to send their snake devices to clear out the pipes. We were told that tree roots were growing in the pipes which basically caused clogging. When I called Alex I explained the problem and suggested to "hydro-jet" the pipe as it would clear away anything in the pipes. He came within the same day. He is a completely honest guy since he explained that he was working on a job in Covina and would not be available until after 3/4pm. I probably called around 12/1pm. Alex came to the house to inspect the problem. The water in the toilets had risen and the showers were not draining. He saw our open laundry water exit pipe and even crawled under the house. He ended up clearing the draining pipe and installing a proper access point and cover. Him and his associates also had to dig up part of the front yard. Our pipes that lead to the main pipes in the street were all broken. And before you think he was just making it up to add more work, evidence of these broken pipes was the water that was showing in the basement. For months I thought it was the sprinkler water or the air conditioning because although we saw water seeping, there was no smell. So, it was a necessary job because no one wants water to be leaking on their property anywhere. This unearthing and multiple pipe repairs were all day jobs. The pipe that delivers water to the kitchen also was leaking into the wall as it was also cracked. Again, this was an ongoing issue we never had adequately repaired. It was simply an open pipe with a cap that didn't even screw on. Alex came on Saturday to replace the broken parts and make sure the pipe had cap that screwed on. Alex listens very well because although he had to cut the exterior wall to replace the pipe, he was not pushy about fixing other broken parts he saw. He informed me about them and he showed me pictures. He informed me of what could happen if I don't fix them. However, I did not approve the repair because our kitchen will be undergoing a remodel and our contractor will be doing enough demolition that it made no sense to break and repair just to break again. There was multiple jobs here: clearing the pipes that caused all the water to stop draining, installing new pipes and covers and access points for future repairs or access, and repairing a leaking pipe through an exterior wall. I would trust Alex with any plumbing project because he talks about it with you, he also writes very good notes on his receipts so you can remember what was done, and his work is above standard. Also, he tries to work with you on pricing. You can google the amount it would cost for a repair and his price is very reasonable.
