I've experienced MANY hibachi grills and this is far and away the worst I've ever had. The portions are very small for a $20 plate. Most hibachi places come with veggies, noodles, rice, and your meat or meats . No noodles here unless you special order. For some bizarre reason, every time I've been here they don't fill the sauces until end and then it's like pulling teeth to get it refilled. I've vowed never to go back. Rolla has much better Japanese options. Much better. read more

My visit at this restaurant was nothing short of a distasteful disaster. I was literally infuriated on my way out. Upon arrival everything went smoothly until we had a change of heart about our main dish, being that it was not only cold but a complete mess. We ordered shrimp teriyaki and it appeared that they poured cold, store bought sauce on top of the shrimp. We initially told the server that we asked for fried rice instead of steamed rice so she spoke with the manager. She then returned to tell us about the upcharge. At this point we no longer wanted the food because of its delay, appearance, and the fact that our order wasn't correct so we expressed that we no longer wanted it. The manager then came to our table after being told we no longer wanted it and became angry with us stating that we were no longer welcome there for not wanting the food and not paying. He also stated that our business wasn't needed and that we should leave. Once we paid for what we did consume, we got our belongings together to leave. We then noticed that a gentleman from the back came out and posted up at the entrance as if he was going to fight us. As we were leaving, we began to follow us out. Even though the restaurant was not crowded, they made us wait one hour before the chef started cooking the food. He said he had to wait until the table was full. Then he cooked the rice and noodles and served that to us first. We thought that was strange that he didn't serve it along with our meat entree. So the rice and noodles were extremely plain without the meat and meat sauce. The meat and meat sauce we had to eat without rice and noodles, so that was too salty and saucy. We had my 7-year-old daughter with us, and they had on violent tv shows on all the screens. I had to ask them to change the channel! My daughter liked the steak, but I had three pieces with fat or cartilage and had to spit it out. So that really ruined it for me. This place used to be so much better. What happened??? read more

The miso soup was lukewarm at best, and the rolls tasted like they had been pre-made and were sitting for a while. Even worse, the staff were rude and acted like they didn't want to be there. read more

Pale mixed drinks, no 7-Up, expensive, slow, and a parking island right outside the front door. Oopsie-daisy!! Nice waitress, good Romance roll. However, the sushi wasn't able to hold together in sauce. Did they use the right rice, or didn't they form it? Couldn't say. Can't speak to the hibachi experience. Usual birthday shenanigans. House Chardonnay is not good, but Cabernet is. Small glasses, though. read more

We went there for lunch on Thursday. My husband ordered the salmon and I ordered the shrimp for lunch special. Only six shrimp I got in my plate, and the number of vegetables can be counted by one of your hand. Terrible experience. But the waiters are good. After they realized this ridiculous situation, they help us to fix it. We tip in a decent way, but of course, we appreciate the waiter, and definitely not the hibachi chief. read more

So disappointed in this restaurant! Came here for my birthday and so excited for the "hibachi experience" but did not even get close. They never asked about allergies, my Pina Colada was served on the rocks not frozen, the guy on the Hibachi grill never spoke, and he tossed out the onion (my favorite part) without even offering to anyone on their plate. I will never be back. Go to a better Hibachi grill where you actually get the experience for the ridiculous price! read more

When we finished our meal, we sat and visited while waiting for drink refills. The refills never came, but someone that I can only assume was the owner, came and opened our check holder to see if we had paid yet. We never saw our waitress again. Shortly thereafter, a different waitress asked us to move to a table, as they had other customers waiting for the hibachi. We looked around, and four people were waiting to be seated, yet there were six empty seats right across from us at the hibachi. We paid our check and left. We stood in the parking lot and talked for over 30 minutes, and our three seats were never filled. We were so embarrassed by the whole incident, as the waitress was so loud when she asked us to move, and all of the other customers in the restaurant heard. There was absolutely no reason that we should have been asked to move. We spent $80.00 on our meal, and had every right to sit and visit. We never did get the drink refills, either. This place is amazing I love it they have the best sushi and steak and shrimp and noodles what can I say I love it. They are so much fin to and I love the apple sooki it is to die for! I tell the sushi chef to surprise me and let me tell ya he is amazing I am never let down!!!! Never thought I would like eel but I do. the hibachi bar is so much fun and very entertaining even if you are not sitting there. The guys are funny and very good at there jobs lol. Doing this is making me hungry but go try them out you wont regret it! read more

I don't normally do this but I'm pretty upset. Tim and I went to Koi for dinner for date night. We always go there despite the fact that the service is not always good and they almost always mess up at least 1 of our sushi rolls by putting avocado when asked not to (Tim's allergic!). The manager has never done anything when he was told they always mess it up. Tonight though, we ordered an appetizer and sushi. After a while our server brought our sushi. I said we have an appetizer we haven't gotten yet too. She said did you want it before your sushi? I started answering saying it's an appetizer so... And she interrupted saying it's not my fault, it's the kitchen. I laughed it off and said ok whatever. (Another table that came in 5 minutes after we did got their appetizers before we got our sushi!) A few minutes later a male server comes and slams down the plate with our appetizer and walks off. We are about halfway done with our meal and the male server comes and asks if we need more water. We both have full mouths and shake our heads no. He puts the bill on the table and stands there and waits. Tim put his card in the holder and the guy walks away. Tim and I start discussing the fact that we never tip less than 20% but this is ridiculous. He brings back the bill and again stands there waiting for Tim to fill it out! Tim puts a zero for tip as this guy is hovering over his shoulder. We get up and start to leave and the guy confronts Tim asking why he put zero. He forgot to write a number. Tim said no I didn't, you were both rude that's why I left zero tip. The guy kept arguing until Tim said to the manager is this guy for real? He was rude along with the other server and now he's arguing with me over no tip? The manager tells the guy to back off basically who keeps talking and we had to walk out to the manager saying sorry. I love sushi but I'm never going back to Koi! read more

Great service and great food! Don't know why this is rated so low. Will go again and again. This place is as good as any hibachi I have been to. I cannot vouch for the sushi as I am not comfortable eating sushi so far from the coast. I figured that was common sense. Well worth a try one of the best in Rolla. read more
