Glassico is an absolute GEM to be here in St. Robert. It has been my husband and I's absolute favorite place to go out to eat while being stationed here at Fort Leonard Wood. Everything from the appetizers to the ramen to the sushi is INCREDIBLE. Pictured is seared salmon belly we tried (they actually gave it to us for free since we were waiting a bit for a table, they were packed!), and I kid you not, it was the best fish I have ever tasted in my entire life. So buttery and flavorful. Since we've been going here, there has only been one waitress, one man working the sushi bar and the kitchen staff in the back. I have never seen a waitress work so hard, so efficiently, and so kindly! I chose Giassico Sushi because of the reviews and they did not disappoint! It's tricky to find with minimal signage. Once we got in, there was a long list of rules... The food is amazing. I've had their sushi and ramen and it's my favorite sushi place in St. Robert. The price is fair, but not cheap or expensive. It's on the more expensive end of average but it is so worth the price. The atmosphere takes you out of St. Robert and into a high end sushi place somewhere on a coast. Went to dinner with my nephew and we went with the following items: - Takoyaki - decent - Fried Calamari - while it was fried perfectly, the large squid tentacles were still cold and rubbery and hard to eat. I would recommend you avoid this dish. - Chicken Karaage - they used wet batter to fry their chicken, I'm used to the light flour coating. Their dish is also served with Pork Cutlet dipping sauce. - Tuna (Maguro) / Shrimp / Tuna Roll - ok - Firecracker Roll - ok - Tonkotsu (Pork Bone Broth) Ramen - their Tonkotsu Ramen was good. I would recommend that you add bamboo and other toppings, but the broth was excellent. - Shoyu -Soy Sauce Ramen - it was ok, I would not order this again. Stopped by here today as i'm in town for business. I came in towards end of day trying to do a carryout. It was so busy, with only one chef and one waitress. The wait was long, I was gonna leave, but something made me wait. I think it was the young waitress smiling, being polite, and kind to all her customers. I saw the chef working hard, putting so much care in his food prep. The wait was more than worth it. This has to be one of the only authentic Japanese restaurants in all of Missouri. Solid Ramen and sushi restaurant. I had the Tonkonsu Ramen with a seaweed salad appetizer. Food was quick and very tasty. One of the best seaweed salads I've had. No frills, just seaweed. No stack of lettuce underneath to make it look bigger. Ramen was solid as well. The spice cup they give you is great. You can make it as spicey as you want. Amazing flavor. This place surprised me honestly. They have specific hours and if there are more than 4 of you you'll be seated separately, just fyi. No high chairs but my toddler was fine in the chair. Fusion rolls were just delectable. All 3 of us got pho and I really enjoyed it. Baked salmon, edamame and California rolls hit the spot. Only complaint I saw was that if you sit down to wait (as suggested by the waiter) and other people come in when a table opens multiple people got skipped but didn't say anything. As for me, i LOVE flavor so the tonkotsu was perf. What really impressed me was the Chashu pork. You can tell that the chashu was cooked and seasoned properly and was not half assed. The chashu pork was tender and soft ... mmmm so good. That was probably my fav part of the ramen. It's usually the softboiled egg, but this time, most def the pork. A+! I've been here three times and can say I love it. I'm the type to continue to get the same thing at any given restaurant so I've stuck to the creamy vegetarian ramen... SO TASTY! I've had the jumbo shrimp and love them (my favorite appetizer). I've tried the vegetarian and the regular gyozo. Of course miso is served prior and it's the best I've ever had. A lot of restaurants I've visited just toss in a few rings of scallions and half a slice of mushroom and call it a day. Their miso has adequate add-ins and is quite flavorful. The young lady who waitresses is extremely attentive and sweet. Why 4 stars after that glowing account? I haven't really tried the sushi. My son did and I had a bite and it wasn't bad just not memorable (it was shrimp tempura so eh take that with a grain of salt... or dip of soy sauce ).
