A solid Chinese buffet restaurant in Rolla. The buffet is quite extensive, with a large variety of items. Most of the dishes are pretty Americanized, but for what they are, they taste pretty good. It seems to cater to a lot of families and seniors, the 3 times I've been there. Casual ambience and clean, both the dining room and bathrooms. The sauces in general lean towards the sweet side, and the spicy dishes are very mild. You can, however, customize dishes if you order an entree instead of getting the buffet. A lot of the chicken dishes are heavily breaded, but if you request the all- white meat option, it has a much lighter coating (maybe only dusted with cornstarch?) so I often customize that way. A couple dishes come that way already, like the Mongolian chicken and a few others. You can ask which. They really shine with their friendliness and customer service. I give them 5 stars for service, 3.5 for food so averages to 4 stars overall. read more

Pretty solid buffet if you are still into those. Most of the food wasn't well seasoned but considering the area, I wasn't overly surprised. The food was still tasty. The spring rolls were tasty with a nice crunchy outer shell. The egg drop soup tasted like it didn't have very much salt in it. I could be wrong but I think that's a good thing. A lot of these buffets have a lot of sodium in their food, so I enjoyed it. Everything was clean including the bathrooms. The sauces were heavy and sweet but there wasn't a lot of pepper or kick to any of their meats with sauces so if you aren't into sweet avoid the saucy meats. The tea was awesome! I love the presentation of it in the gold pot and it was very hot. Their stir fry rice was white. This is the first time in my life I've seen stir fry rice that looked like it didn't have soy sauce on it. It was the only dish I would suggest you hard pass. The desserts were well made. Nice safe area and on-site parking. read more

The staff and owners were very friendly. I had an order of their Lo Mein noodles and they were amazing.

The buffet fish tasted like bleach. Obviously the fish was bad, and they try to fix it. We have never gone back since food was awful.

I stopped in here for the first time with my grandma. I ordered some food, and I explained to the guy at the front that my g-ma couldn't get out of the car, and that we wanted to eat outside. He said it wasn't a problem. The food arrived steaming hot. He placed the items in trays so it was easier for my g-ma. The food was delicious. I ordered orange chicken w/fried rice. The portion was huge!! My g-ma ordered Shrimp w/Lobster sauce& Egg Drop Soup. She said it was the best egg drop soup! Overall the Mandarin Garden exceeded my expectations.. Food was great! Got the Sweet and Sour Chicken meals and Crab Rangoon for delivery. I ordered with fried rice and when it arrived they were both white rice. When I called to tell them what happened the man on the phone yelled at me saying that one was ordered white one was ordered fried. Even if that was the case they both were white and my receipt showed fried rice. He proceeded to say "Well what do you want me to do about it?" Then hung up on me afterward. Best Chinese place in Rolla. They are obsessive about cleaning everything. Food prices are not bad. The only real beef I have with the place is that they do not take credit card for anything less than $10. This policy has been a PITA to both my friends and I. Oh, and they dont sell fortune cookies, which is a real bummer since the ones at Great Wall (where they do sell fortune cookies) do not taste as good. read more
