The food is very good and tasty. They have a very good variety of good tasty foods available. We go off and on repeatedly returning.

Traveling with picky kids is tough when it comes to picking a single restaurant. This buffet did not disappoint! They had a great selection, food was fresh. Service was excellent as well. read more

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, NEVER AGAIN.... The place needs a thorough clean The food is not good at all The fresh fruit besides the oranges had been out for days and dried out. Other dessert is served right alongside seafood dishes, really?? The sushi is tasteless and definitely not fresh And to bat, they will try to sneak in additional charges. We had a 2 year old and they charged both a drink and adult buffet charge. read more

Overall not bad for a Chinese Buffett. They keep raising prices frequently so the value is declining a bit. Still probably worth it.

I came in there around 3:30 pm and the food was amazing! The staff gave us refills on our drink when we needed it, and the check-out lady apologized for the ac, very considerate of her. read more

9/6/2026 AC is not working . It's 103F in here, super unpleasant experience. Food is terrible, definitely Not what it used to be about a year ago. read more

Food is great and hits the spot, that being said it's your typical Asian buffet with the regular stuff. Nothing special but what's expected. I've seen reviews saying this place was dirty from the google reviews, but that was not my experience. It was clean as any other buffet I've been in. If you want spotless go to a 5 star restaurant, it's a buffet. Staff was extremely friendly and seems to know everyone which is nice to see. If I ever got stationed here this would be the place I go! read more

Walked in & the first thing we noticed was how hot it was. Sweaty workers. Place smelled musty, as if the carpet hadn't been cleaned in years. Food did not look fresh at all. We walked out immediately because we couldn't breathe. read more

Disgusting! Food was horrible, display was atrocious and gave me and my friends food poisoning

Good (not great) food at an ok price point. Everything seemed to be fresh, and large selection. Overall a good stop, just not worth going out of your way for read more

They just raised their prices, stopped honoring the military % and seniors have to ask to get a one dolllar discount. Ice cream machine has been broken for the last two years. Wait staff are very good and attentive to your table needs. The ones that cash you out not so much. They would get a one star but the food is pretty good. read more

When we walked in it was dirty and didn't look very clean. We sat down and got our water. We walked to the buffet to explore the options. They had a pretty normal variety for a Chinese buffet and had many soups. The air conditioner wasn't working and neither was the ice cream machine, which was a big disappointment. The customer service was mediocre and didn't attend us very often for water refills. The best thing at the buffet was the hibachi because it was hot and customizable. Over all we would not eat there again. read more

unfortunately, since they changed owners, the place went down very fast. the quality of the food for the prices is not great. they raised the price but lowered the quality. my friend and her husband both got food poisoning. not going there anymore. a pity as it was a great place a few months ago. read more

Huge Disappointment The new ownership shows. Who buys a Chinese restaurant and removes broccoli beef from the menu?! That's a staple food basic. The noodles are one sticky glob. Everyone knows starch is half the meal. The foundation of the meal. This town has yet "one less thing" Soo Soo SAD read more

i came around 5 pm and the food was NOT hot or fresh. the sushi has been sitting for awhile the rice around was hard. it's messy there's flies on the food the fruit was bad. overall a really bad experience. the service was okay the workers were nice but the establishment really needs help and cleanliness. read more

Seems to be going down hill not as good as it once was. Needs to be cleaned up and remolded

My husband and I have had take out from here a few times. The food is ok, not great but ok. Well today, someone rude at the checkout decided there was a charge for hot sauce when there never had been before. Ok that's fine if you charge for it, but you hadn't before then you give to different prices on which you're saying it was. It got ugly due to a customer involvement that was not her concern. The lady said she was the owner and stated I don't need your business. Well since you are a business and you need customers to operate, and you don't need our business so you say. We won't be back. I will not give my hard earned money to people who are rude and don't need it. read more

The food is pretty good. They keep the restaurant pretty clean. Good service. Ambiance is good as it can be for a buffet.

Watch your bill some of the workers have trick calculations and forget to honor seniors.

Very disappointed in the Management at Ocean Buffet, they have removed the 10% Military Discount and lowered their Senior Discount to just $1 off. Then they also raise the price. Guess they don't want my business anymore. read more

Food and service are great however they no longer give military discount and have lowered the senior discount. Now there is no heat and your food gets cold before you get to eat it and you better dress warm! read more

I've been staying and working remotely in the area and have visited the buffet many times. The price has gone up by $1 around late Sep. While they do offer varieties of options - be it sushi, Chinese food and hibachi and steaks, one thing that never changes at this place is their offerings. Every time I came, the Chinese food items are always the same. It doesn't matter which day of the week you come, it's the same. Same with sushi and hibachi. I wish they would rotate the Chinese food offerings. For example let says they offer 30 dishes, make 15 permanent and the other 15 - rotate with different dishes every every few weeks or every month. It's boring to find the same food day in and day out. As for the service, it's hit or miss, if you get a younger waitress, service is lacking, however if you get waitresses that are bit older, they are superb checking in on you, making sure your water is refilled before you ask, etc. Here is what I had every time I visited - their catfish, perfectly fried, a lot better when the fresh batch comes out. Then I get green beans, hot and sour soup, beef only from beef and broccoli, fried squid and fried shrimp. I also get one plate of hibachi - with noodles, veggies and beef chunks. I used to get the steak and would ask for medium, but it's always done one way - well done, so I stop getting them. Overall, worth coming few times a year, not once a week thing :) I wish the other place would open up their buffet, because I want to see what the differences are, but they only do order from menu because of the pandemic. Maybe next time I visit, they will have different foods in the buffet. read more

It's an Asian buffet well priced. I was traveling when there was a delay, so I stopped, it was a Friday night and everything was fresh with a nice variety of buffet items. Nothing was below the quality you would expect in this venue. And better than most. The staff was also courteous and dedicated. read more

This place is incredible and my mouth is drooling just thinking about all the different types of food they have in the buffet. They have at least 10 different types of chicken and the seafood selection is great too. The shrimp was epic and trying new things like frog legs and squid was fun. The employees are great I hope this place stays forever. read more

We've stopped in quite a few times and haven't really had anything negative happen. The selection of dishes is amazing. From the usual chicken on a stick to shrimp to soups to mongolian BBQ even sushi. And the sushi isn't bad, it's made quite fresh. The selection for the mongolian bbq is quite nice and, again, things are quite fresh. Maybe we're just lucky to go when it's busy enough that the food doesn't get turned. It's a busy enough place to keep the food rolling and you will find very few warming trays that aren't regularly refilled. The place is tidy enough, no real complaints there. The staff is generally quick to pick up plates and refill drinks. If you're wondering about what kind of food they offer just have a look at their website, everything is listed there. http://www.oceanbuffetmo.com/menu.asp read more

Sushi was fresh. All of the meat and veggies were fresh and cooked to perfection. Everything tasted great! Service was excellent!

A buffet worthy of 5 stars -- how can it be?? Well, I'll tell ya how!! The food was pretty standard buffet stuff, they had a hibachi station, which I didn't try; maybe next time. I was quite impressed by the selection and the freshness of the food. There was no crustiness on the top of the food -- in fact, they were constantly switching out the trays. All the food was hot, and there was plenty of it. I was most impressed with the sushi bar. There were plenty of selections for someone like me who doesn't love raw fish. I recommend the California Roll. They were quite good. There were several other rolls I tried, which were all excellent. I also felt there was a nice selection to choose from of all kinds of dishes. But, who am I kidding? It all hinhes on dessert. I mean, there was a decent selection of salads and other healthy crap, but I'm all about the desserts. The thing that stood out to me was the cups of custard. Chocolate grooviness that made me so happy! I forgot to grab a spoon, so I had to get creative. (Don't ask -- what happens at the buffet stays at the buffet!) Whodda thunk I could find a good Asian Buffet in Missouri, but I did!! Before I go, I wanted to give a special mention about the waitress who kept our glasses full and our plates cleared off the table. She was so very professional and hilarious. Our glasses were never empty, and she always had a smile on her face. I think SHE was what made this experience so amazing! Thank you for an epic experience!! read more

The food is disgusting! Ate there at noon today, not sure when that food was cooked. There is a lot of food, but it doesn't taste fresh and you would think since they open at 11:00 the food would be fresh at 11:45. You serve yourself except for drink, refills offered. There is no ambiance! The guy taking money literally just held his hand out for you to pay him. The lunch was over priced at $12.99 for buffet. I don't mind paying for good or at least decent food, but not this stuff. I will be lucky not to get food poisoning. Never again will I eat there. Only 1 star because I can't leave 0. Not sure how it has gotten 5 stars from people. One & done! YUCK read more

Cleanliness, sushi was a bummer, bathrooms disgusting. Very unique flavors and not in a good way. Wouldn't go back

Price for dinner buffet was 14.99. Has a great assortment of seafood, Chinese, hibachi grill options, sushi, and American food. Drinks do cost extra. This was the first place that I tried during my 5 days here, it's now my 4th day and this place was the best restaurant for the price. If I come back to this area again, I'll definitely go back. read more

Still a very, very mediocre Chinese buffet. Their food just isn't the freshest. Idk if I'm just super picky but I've had some amazing Chinese buffet experiences. And this place doesn't cut it for me. HOWEVER, their hibachi does have me hooked. It's one of the better foods around this town. And that's the reason why I keep coming back hahaha. Just put all of the veggies you want with your rice or noodles, add minced garlic, the spicy sauce, and maybe some eggs, then hand it to the cook! That's some good stuff and I'll continue to pick up the hibachi noodles until we leave this place! read more

We happened upon this place due to stopping at ruby tuesdays and having to get up and leave due to lousy service and very poor conditions. Drove down the street and found this place. Awesome service the staff was very friendly and the food was great. Lots of variety and wish we would have came here first rather than waisting 30 mins of our lives and ruby tuesday. Nice setting with very clean food areas well lit and just overall fresh appearance. Thank you for a nice experience read more

I hadn't eaten here in years so I decided to go get take out. They was a mistake. It was the most gross thing I have ever eaten since the last time I ate here. I had fried rice, crab rangoon, lo mein. Everything tasted the same. Disgusting. I got sick. I'll never eat there again. read more

Was nice to find this place on a Sunday evening coming into town. The food was good, service was great and the restaurant was very clean. I asked the man working the sushi area for more salmon niguri and he asked me how many. The fish itself was a little thin so was eating mostly rice but was good. The man working the Hibatchi area was great. Only wish was that thet had gluten free soy sauce. read more

I was still eating and they were mopping the dinning floor with bleach. I get it, it's 8:35 pm and you want to be able to clock out right at 9. But come on - you serve leftover foods- I don't usually mind when I'm hungry - you chose to work there- - you are in a customer service industry - my child who never complain about any restaurant did so for the first time -she's the reason we go out to eat at your restaurant because she likes variety although she doesn't eat a lot read more

Look. All Chinese food is created equal it's the little things that separate the good from the bad. For example cleanliness. Tops here, this place is spotless. The serving line and item choices are many plus constantly stocked. Plenty of selection. The food is always fresh looking Taste. The same as everywhere else you have ever eaten Chinese. I swear they only have one cookbook and share it nationwide. Very pleasant. read more
