I've been to Koi Ramen about 2 dozen times over the last 2 months. Initially just to try it and got the Seafood Tom Yum Ramen and I loved it. I was like wow, so I went back a week later and got something else. My trend continues but with more frequency with regards to how often I go. I sure do like this place. The service is sufficient, but the ramen is spot f-ing on. The black garlic or the tonkatsu are my pick.

I struggle here. Firstly, I think I just made a bad choice on my food (as in, ordered something I don't typically like), so I won't fault them for that. The problem I had was that we were straight up told we couldn't eat inside, but there was another family sitting inside at a table eating when we went in to order. It was awkward. They didn't offer any explanation, just that it had to be a "to go" order. It's a tight space, but don't let some people sit if you won't allow all people to sit. With noting that it's a tiny space, so even without covid still might be hard to secure a table. But there were open tables when we went. I can't decide if we will try it again. There are other places nearby that are stable and never given me weird vibes. read more

I order miso ramen. The presentation is pretty, corn, eggs, pork. It tastes so good especially the soup the thickness is prefect for me so does saltiness. Ramen is good, but restaurant is extremely small. The last time we went we were told we had to sit at the bar. I told them that I had to sit in a chair with a back due to injury and they said the table was only for 4 and we could not sit there. It was less than an hour to close and were not accommodating at all. Young male was the one we spoke to. He was extremely rude! I was so offended that we decided to leave. We were in search for some Pho but found a Ramen place instead. We were completely satisfied with the experience. The "Black Garlic Ramen" was simply amazing. Loaded with flavor and a large enough amount to fill you up and have leftovers. I enjoyed the steamed dumplings and the fried chicken as well. Everything was well seasoned and the food came out minutes after we ordered. My two year old was able to enjoy everything that we had and wanted more. This place is a hidden gem. The ramen and appetizers are so dam good. The theme inside is very authentic, with the wooden chairs and interior designing. Servers were very kind. It's tasty ramen, but they were out of pork when I went. Not quite my favorite ramen in the area, but definitely my backup ramen spot.

My company sent two of our best food editors in to this location to try the ramen. Not only were they treated poorly the waiter that took them in the shop and seated them was extremely rude to the two women. Yes, these were two African American women. The reason I bring this up is because there was an Caucasian man that entered no more than five minutes after them. He was greeted with respect and even spoken to. Our editors had to report as to why they couldn't eat there. The waiter slammed their glasses of water on their table. Even with the discrepancy our editor said thank you to him and he walked away. When calling to see the further issue the man who seated our editors lied and stated the women walked in before the open sign. Which was false because we have cameras on the cars to view the locations. He also stated they seated theirselves, when in fact they didn't because we have the camera view of them waiting to be seated. Our editors walked in at 5pm being the location opened at 5pm. This was a spot that was told by locals to review. Our editors ended up going to a more respectful and graceful ramen location. Be kind to people. This is for the location and everyone. You truly never know who you're seating at your establishments. To racially discriminate along with treating the women the way the waiter did was unacceptable. read more

Koi Ramen is truly the best ramen i've had in the cary/apex area. I moved to Apex from Orange County, California where I dreaded leaving my favorite ramen place, but Koi Ramen helps me feel at home. Amazing service, even better food. A cute hole in the wall spot, so worth it. I recommend the Spicy Miso Paitan ramen with extra boiled egg and no corn. We love getting Asian foods, and the ramen here is great! I got the spicy miso paitan, which was very flavorful and not too spicy. The pork in the ramen was amazing, cooked to perfection and practically falling apart with my chopsticks. The prices were very good for the portion size, and we got free spring rolls with our order. Overall, Koi Ramen is another great ramen option in Cary. One thing to note, they don't have any dine-in seating currently, which is probably for the best with the pandemic. Much better than the previous tenant. I got the Chicken Curry Ramen. It was flavorful and the egg was cooked to perfection. It was packaged well for take out, where the broth was separate from the bowl for a lovely presentation once you get home and pour the hot broth over the noodle bowl. The hubs got the Vegetable Ramen with a side order of Gyozo. The mushroom broth was rich and the bowl was stuffed with lots of noodles and vegetable. The dumplings were good, but nothing special. Best ramen in the Cary area hands down. Would personally recommend the R5 Black Garlic Ramen, the R4 Miso or Spicy Miso Ramen, or the R9 Yellow Curry Ramen. You can't really go wrong though; I've been here often enough to try everything on their menu, and it's extremely rare to find a place that does everything well with no filled items on the menu.
