Saw some reviews and my friend and I figured that we would try it out. All servers were extremely nice and helpful. We got the takoyaki appetizer to start and it was pretty good. I ordered the chicken curry ramen (I added tofu) and my friend got the black garlic paitan ramen. Both were good and the portion size is a lot. I personally didn't think the food was anything spectacular but it was definitely a good bowl of ramen. I would recommend if you want ramen but I don't think that I need to go back now that I've tried it. Koi ramen feels so good. As soon as we walked in I knew it was going to be good. It was a very clean establishment. I appreciate how fast the service was despite the "help wanted" sign. Great service and the options were awesome. We opted to try the R9. chicken yellow curry. The curry was sweet and the noodles were so buttery. I loved the egg it was perfectly cooked. I was especially impressed but the chicken. It was clean, perfectly cooked, seasoned and so tender. Melted right in your mouth! I would come back and try the tofu considering how could the curry was! Koi Ramen is a decent place. We ordered the Spicy Miso and Black Sesame Paitan Ramen and I thought the flavors were really well put together. There were many dimensions to the broth, even though the broth was chicken based. The only slight disappointment was we asked for lower sodium broth, and it still tasted like it was the normal salt level. I would still recommend the ramen, since the broth is earthy, intricate, and packed with flavor. For the appetizer, I thought the karaage was just okay. It was crispy- but was not any better than chicken nuggets. And I would suggest NOT ordering the sui mai- which tasted worst than brands you buy from the frozen section of grocery stores and reheat yourself. Closing statement, I suggest coming for the ramen! It isn't a place where I'm like "omg I have to come back" - but it's still a good bowl of ramen. Also, the service is great. The ladies there were super nice, quick, and attentive. Koi Ramen now stands in the same spot that the old Noodle Blvd used to be, but while the name is different, the food remains excellent. The wife and me showed up late on a weekday and we had the place to ourselves. We had a light dinner of an order of Veg Spring Rolls (crispy and fried to perfection) and the hot and piping Tofu Yellow Curry Ramen which was excellently seasoned, but not too spicy. They also provide seasonings on the side for you to spice it up a bit more if you so choose to be a bit more daring! I got a bowl of shio paitan ramen (sea salt), which came with char siu chicken, bean sprouts, cabbage, corn, egg, and scallions. The broth was tasty, and the noodles had a good consistency and texture to them. While the chicken was tender (it looked like it was going to be dry), I didn't get much char siu flavor from it, which was disappointing. The bean sprouts didn't look very fresh, but the egg was delicious. There is a slight kick of spiciness in the broth too, so beware - it came a bit unexpectedly to me, but I appreciated it. They did a great job with the to-go packaging. The broth was in a separate microwaveable container with simple instructions included, which made reheating it up at home easy, while still retaining the texture and flavor of the dish's different components. Online ordering was very easy, and pickup was seamless. I simply showed up, picked up my food, and took it home to enjoy. As far as I could see, the staff were all practicing good COVID precautions. The pricing is also reasonable, and parking is super easy. I plan to come back and try some other ramen! read more

Koi Ramen is as stellar as it gets. I used to go to high school in the area, and sometimes my friends and I would come here for lunch. Quite literally everything on the menu is amazing. Unlike other ramen places I've been to, Koi actually gives a reasonable amount of noodles, which is much appreciated. My personal favorite dish is the shoyu paitan, highly recommend it. Service is friendly and quick, they're all pretty cool. Prices are good for the quality of food, though I'd still eat here even if they raised em by 5 bucks. I have been going to various Ramen places in the Triangle with a friend to find our favorite ramen. I had the Shoyu Paitan and it was delicious. I didn't think I was very hungry, but I finished my entire bowl of soup as did my friends who came with me! The flavors were excellent, the pork was tender and almost melt in your mouth. Every ingredient was excellent. It was not too salty and honestly, I have no constructive feedback to give about the food. As an appetizer, we had Gyoza. This too was some of the best Gyoza we've ever had. Service was fine, you can order like you would in a typical sit down restaurant. No big concerns, but it also wasn't busy when we went. This is our new favorite hole-in-the-wall ramen place that filled the hole left when a Ramen eatery called Noodle Boulevard left to open a full service restaurant by Crossroad. It's been a while and I can't fairly compare the two, but Koi Ramen definitely does not disappoint when compared to our fond memory of the past occupant, and actually brought a new set of flavors. So there ARE our new favorite ramen shop, bar none. Service is fast and friendly, especially when compared to the previous occupant when their business outgrew this location. They were out of lemon grass for a ramen bowl my wife ordered, but the chef customized a different ramen bowl to create something different but with a similar flavor profile. My go to is the tan tan paitan which just hits that sweet spot of spicy without completely wrecking your taste buds. What a neat find in North Cary that's authentic and unpretentious. Seating indoors and on the sidewalk, we chose to sit inside for a late lunch on Sunday. We were seated immediately and were given a free bowl of salted edamame to snack on before our orders came out. The ramen was delicously warm and fragrant, with the service to match. I ordered the black garlic paitan and my boyfriend ordered the shoyu paitan. I definitely liked mine better, with a deeper flavor profile and rich spices.
