Kohnur is truly top notch! I'm a wedding planner and am really picky about the vendors that I entrust my couples with, because I want to ensure my couples have a wonderful planning experience. Whenever a couple of mine books Kohnur, I breathe a sigh of relief because I know that they are in great hands. The owner, Theresa, goes above and beyond to make sure my Bride is taken care of and feels special throughout the planning process. They are also responsive in communication and make the process smooth abd seamless, which is a dream to a planner. When it comes time for wedding day, they truly make my brides feel pampered and I've heard nothing but amazing things about their experiences with their artists/stylists. My brides always look stunning and flawless too, which is obviously the whole point, but the way they take care of their brides makes them top tier in the beauty industry! Will continue to refer many brides their way because they are well worth the investment! read more

Kohnur is simply the best! My artist, Tokiko, was absolutely amazing and made me look so beautiful for my wedding. From my trial appointment to the actual day, she made perfect adjustments so I got exactly what I wanted. My makeup stayed in place for TWELVE hours without a single smudge and zero visible caking or pores, and my hair defied gravity without hurting at any point (a miracle, because I have LONG hair for an updo). Tokiko was an absolute angel, she made me feel so at ease and she was so kind to my family and friends as well. Shout out to the owner, Theresa, for being so comprehensive on everything from the moment I reached out as well, she really made me feel like every detail was being cared for. Thank you Kohner!! read more

Stacy and I are very pleased with Theresa's communication and guidance and Kohnur's HMUAs for both our engagement/trial and wedding events: Fennie, Tokiko, Jin, and Michelle were professional, communicative, friendly and punctual. They listened to mine and my wife's preferences, as well as the preferences of our family members who also required services. Our guests complimented our hair and makeup all day and night, and we too felt so comfortable and beautiful on our big day. Highly recommend! read more

Theresa and her team are amazing! I hired them for my wedding in Temecula back in 2010. The whole team arrived very early, and was very professional and fun to work with. I love the makeup Theresa did for me. Since then I had hired their professional makeup artist for my family photography two more times. I love their services! Highly recommended!! read more

update in response to the vendor: top 2 artists might be excellent, but as a business owner and scheduler Theresa is terrible. When she has to outsource talent because her top artists are booked, she doesn't know the artists' capabilities and limitations which caused delays. She doesn't even know how much English they are capable of speaking. She should kindly decline booking when she isn't confident in the skill of what can be provided. Book Tokiko, maybe, Michelle, but sandy, Olivia, and felina were not good. Additionally, she has not been able to provide this time stamped "evidence" she claims to have. read more

I've had the pleasure of working alongside Theresa and her team on countless weddings over the years, and she is hands down one of the best makeup artists in the industry. As a wedding videographer, I see firsthand how makeup translates on camera and Theresa's work is flawless every time. The Kohnur team has an incredible ability to enhance each person's natural beauty while keeping everything timeless and elegant. Kohnur's attention to detail is unmatched, and somehow makes even the most hectic wedding mornings feel calm and organized. I cannot recommend my make-up artist Fennie enough! From the moment we met for my trial just two days before the wedding (my schedule is super packed so I could only do it then), I knew I was in excellent hands. Despite the tight timeline, she was completely focused and attentive to everything I wanted for my bridal look. I also have an allergy to standard lash glue such as Duo and she helped me apply my Noon lashes perfectly! What really set Fennie apart was her ability to truly understand my skin complexion and the sexy / subtle look I was trying to achieve for my wedding day. She took the time to assess my skin tone, undertones, and texture, and selected products that worked perfectly with my natural coloring rather than against it. The foundation match was absolutely flawless, and everything looked stunning both in person and in photos. I received many compliments on my wedding day about how great my make-up looked. She listened carefully to my vision and asked thoughtful questions to make sure she captured exactly what I was hoping for. I felt heard and understood throughout the entire process, which made me feel so relaxed and confident on my wedding day. The makeup lasted beautifully from the ceremony through the reception, and I've never felt more beautiful. Theresa is also amazing and super responsive! She has many years of experience and knows how to work through any issue. She makes sure you're paired with the best and the overall service is spectacular! If you're looking for a talented, attentive and experienced business, with people who genuinely care about bringing your vision to life while enhancing your natural beauty, Kohnur is THE place to go. You won't regret it! read more

From the moment she started on my makeup and hair, she made me feel so beautiful and confident. I received endless compliments throughout the night, and my makeup stayed flawless all the way until the very end! no touch-ups needed! Michelle truly knows how to enhance natural beauty, and she took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted. She created a stunning look that was elegant, yet comfortable and natural. My hair was perfect too, beautifully styled and lasting through hours of dancing and celebrating. read more

When Kohnur said they'd treat me like a queen, they truly meant it! From my first chat with Theresa, I felt understood and supported - other than looking at my inspo photos, she took time to get to know me, my style, my personality, my aura, and my vision, and matched me perfectly with Veronica. Veronica was incredible - professional, skilled, punctual, and so kind. She made me feel calm and confident throughout the trial and on the wedding day. Veronica didn't just bring my vision to life - she somehow created more than I even knew I wanted!! She handled my mom's makeup beautifully, kept my two looks flawless through tears and hugs. They held up beautifully through the ceremony, photos, and reception. She even went above and beyond to help with little details like my dress and purse. I was also very impressed by how organized and detail-oriented the team was. They gathered all my information and notes into an online system, which made the whole process smooth and reassuring. I can't recommend Veronica and Kohnur enough! The experience was luxurious, seamless, and filled with genuine care. From start to finish, I felt really supported, radiant, and confident on one of the most meaningful days of my life. Thank you!! read more

Working with this bridal agency has been such a dream. Theresa is incredibly professional, organized, and genuinely supportive -- she makes every artist feel valued and set up for success. Communication is always clear, scheduling runs smoothly, and the clients she connects me with are some of the kindest, most wonderful people I've worked with. Every experience so far has been positive and uplifting -- I always look forward to the next booking! Couldn't ask for a better agency experience!!!! read more

Kohnur has been professional, friendly, and communicative from the very beginning. As the groom, I don't know anything about make up, and my mother doesn't either. For any of you with these same concerns: I have hooded lids that are NOT even. My eyes turned out great. I also had hairline I did not care for that Chloe covered up so beautifully. Kohnur - thank you Tokiko, Lindsay, Kim, Jin and Denise as well as Theresa and Andrea behind the scenes. This team turned me and my bridesmaids into the most elevated versions of ourselves. We heard many of our bridesmaids say that they have never felt so beautiful so thank you for giving us that. The moments spent in the makeup chair were some of the best memories between the bride and our closest friends and we loved having Kohnur be a part of it. The team was so kind, patient, supportive and everyone was extremely pleased with their looks. It meant the world to me to have the support of this team during such an important moment. Kohnur was the most luxurious experience from beginning to end. Theresa immediately contacted me to get to know a little about me and my event. When I tell you that she thinks about everything, I mean it! She was friendly from beginning to end. I needed a team of people that could help me and a team of girls and women of all ages to get ready. The team she gathered for us was exactly what we needed. Every member of the team was there to fulfill every single request. They were on time to the meeting location and very professional. They took our feedback and created looks exactly as we wanted them. They styled our hair and makeup exactly as we wanted. Whatever you find online, they can recreate. Same with makeup inspo. Our hair and makeup for my brother's wedding looked fabulous. There's not a single thing they needed from you. Everyone was comfortable and not a single person felt rushed. Everyone was truly pampered and spoiled with their services and I believe their prices to be fair. I can't recommend this company enough. I can't wait for the next event I have the opportunity to get my hair and makeup done again just for the wonderful experience. It was a 10/10. Truly. Thank you Theresa and thank you team for a bespoke experience. read more

When I first met Theresa, I knew that I would ultimately choose her and her team of talented artists to handle HMU for me and my loved ones. In our first call, Theresa focused on making sure that she knew what I wanted and that my look for the day would also work with my husband's features. She gave important feedback and was honest about what might or might not look good on me.The attention to detail was unlike any other HMU team I spoke to. Most importantly, I felt so supported throughout the planning process because Theresa was so understanding and accommodating of my mom's health needs. Planning a wedding can be stressful, so it definitely helped knowing someone was on my side to make things easier. On the day of, I appreciated having some of the artists who can speak Mandarin to help my MIL feel her best and also vocalize what she wanted. Shoutout to Michelle, who not only helped me look my best but also was so efficient and understanding of the chaos of the day. She really is amazing and hopefully another occasion arises for me to work with her in the future. read more

Their work is true-to-self (naturally elevated at its finest), detailed, always up-to-date with the latest trend and long-lasting makeup and hair that stay all day (and night!) Dance-floor proof!!! The team is my favorite!! The artists are talented, friendly and down-to-earth. They listen well, respect everyone's preferences, and bring each vision to life effortlessly, while infusing everyone's personality into the final looks. I've even picked up some great tips just by watching them work and checking out the products they use. They made the experience fun and memorable! I had an amazing and wonderful experience with Kohnur and the team. Theresa was great at communicating and I felt she really understood the style/look I was going for in order to find and match me with the best artist. I ended up working with Tokiko as my main artist and she is incredibly talented and sweet! I wanted an elevated natural look which she delivered. Theresa sends over a google sheet to fill out for hair and makeup inspo and it felt like the team actually reviewed it. They also did hair and makeup for 7 bridesmaids, 1 MOB and 1 MOG; everyone loved how it turned out! The team was very efficient and professional. The price is a bit expensive and I had actually done a trial with a different group prior to finding Kohnur. However, I believe the results are definitely worth the price, especially for such an important day where you want to feel and look your absolute best! read more

Kohnur - My perfect look - Makeup Artists Near Me

When researching MUAs for my wedding, it was important to me to find a company that knew how to work with Asian skin tones and hair types. I've been disappointed almost every time I've had my hair and makeup professionally done - it always felt very heavy-handed and overdone, and because I don't wear very much makeup in my day-to-day life, I knew I needed a talented artist who could make me look like an elegant and familiar version of myself, not an exaggerated caricature. I was sold on Kohnur as soon as I talked to Theresa. She was warm and approachable and her questions were thorough and thoughtful, and she set the tone for how smooth the rest of the process would go. Kristine was my beauty concierge and I was very happy with her prompt communication throughout the whole planning journey leading up to the wedding. My hair and makeup trial went far better than I expected - Tokiko interpreted my beauty inspo images perfectly and I trusted she understood the vision for my wedding look. The pictures speak for themselves. Jamie, Kiko, Michelle, and Grace did the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, my mom, my mother-in-law, and both of my sisters-in-law, and everyone loved how beautiful and effortless they looked. Our wedding doubled as an epic NYE party and I'm still impressed at how my makeup stayed on all night without melting or looking cakey - even my lipstick looked great all night (no small feat for such a dark, dramatic lip!). When I look back at my wedding photos, I can honestly say it's the most beautiful I've ever looked and I have Tokiko and Kohnur to thank for that. It was 100% worth the cost and I highly recommend Kohnur for anyone looking for a MUA in the LA area. read more

What I love about working with Kohnur is how much they listen to every client's needs and concerns. Theresa took the time to review each person's personal style, features (like skin tone, hair type...), hair and makeup inspirations, and then pair each person with the best artist. That level of attention to detail makes a HUGE difference in making sure everyone's happy and beautiful!! For several events, I had a great experience with Michelle, Tokiko, Jin, Sandy, Joanna and Fennie. With Kohnur, it's more than just hair and makeup. They really care about their clients and do their best to make sure everyone feels like the best version of themselves. There are so many artists/stylists out there, but not everyone cares the way they do. Kohnur made the whole beauty experience smooth, personal, memorable and FUN! I'd recommend them to anyone for any type of event! read more

I absolutely loved the professional and HMU team at Kohnur. They first contact with what plans they provide and from there, they give you a doc to post photos of what you look like and what HMU inspo pics. It really helped conveyed to the artist beforehand. Also give them a heads up if you want anything specific (e.g glitter). For my trial & wedding day, I had the honor to work with Tokiko who absolutely nailed what I was looking for. I received so many compliments both on trial and actual wedding day. She was so kind, professional, and detail-oriented; double checking that everything was even and blended. For my wedding day, we also had 4 bridesmaids, 1 groomsmen, 1 MOB, 1 MOG, 1 flower girl, and 1 additional guest, and the Kohnur team was able to get them all! Michelle, Denise, and Olivia were incredible as well! My bridesmaids received so many compliments and they themselves love their HMU a lot! They were so sad to remove at the end of the night. My mum was also said to looked even younger! The artists were so thoughtful too; letting us eat before finishing up with lip products. Highly recommend Kohnur, especially Tokiko, Michelle, Denise, and Olivia! read more

I had my hair and makeup done as maid of honor in my friend's wedding and they did such a good job and I was totally blown away by the results! Prior to my wedding, I had three experiences with Kohnur--all with beautiful hair and makeup--so I knew Kohnur would be the best choice for me for my own wedding! I've been a bridesmaid so many times and have gotten professional hair and makeup for most of them, but hands down, I always found Kohnur to do a wonderful job for the brides as well as the bridal party! The team is professional, timely, friendly, and talented. My bridal trial and wedding day makeup both turned out beautifully, so I was pleased with the results. Additionally, I appreciated the timely manner in which any questions I had were addressed prior to the wedding. Anyone who chooses Kohnur will surely be happy with the beauty team :) read more

Working with the Kohnur team was a breeze, and truly made my wedding planning that much easier. I was referred to Kohnur through my planner, and I couldn't have been happier with this team. I previously had done a makeup trial with another studio I found on my own, and honestly it was really bad. So after being traumatized from that experience, I was very wary when I reached out to the Kohnur team. However, Theresa very quickly eased my concerns with an immediate phone call, and I bonded with her immediately. She is so personable, sweet and professional. She took the time to get to know me, and my preferences. She's always on the ball, and very responsive. She referred me to Fennie and her team, who did such an amazing job making my girls and me look beautiful on my big day. I'm really picky with my makeup, and I like it a very certain way. But Fennie did such a good job doing EXACTLY the look I wanted. I know Fennie costs a premium, but she is so worth it. I would highly, highly recommend booking with the Kohnur team for your beauty needs. read more

So happy I found Kohnur for my wedding. Theresa was very personal and gave suggestions based on a few looks I had saved. She walked me through the different make-up styles (they all looked the same to me lol) and gave recommendations based on how I look and my style. The communication portal is easy to use and Erika and Theresa responded quickly to any of my questions. They also emailed tips in the months leading up to the big day on how to pamper myself! Highly recommend Kohnur and well worth the $$$. Michelle did my trial and wedding day. Absolutely amazing and the nicest person to work with. For the trial, she listened to everything I wanted to try and dealt with my mom's opinions really well. I really appreciated her professionalism as she didn't really push for 1 look or another but helped guide me to find the look I liked. Day of, look turned out amazing!! AND held for the whole day!! Even my lip color stain held after eating and drinking! The other artists that helped my party get ready were wonderful, on-time, and we finished ahead of schedule! read more

The Kohnur team indeed pampered me like a queen on my wedding day. I felt very taken care of from day 1 of my bridal beauty journey. Theresa made it a priority that I am partnered with an artist who is familiar with my asian features, from my eye shape, skin and hair type. She also made sure to learn about my own personal makeup/hair history and preferences. Jamie, my own HMU artist, really delivered on the day of. She was patient and listened to my vision during my bridal previews. I had a second hair and makeup look change with Jin and that went perfectly as well. She was so fast and efficient in time for the reception. It's very apparent the years of beauty expertise behind these artists but I want to emphasize the importance of their kindness, patience, and dedication to making you feel the best that you can be on the best day of your life. Theresa and the team just get it. Thank you Theresa for listening to me from day 1 and guiding me up to the last minute of planning. Thank you Jamie for making me feel at ease and making the preview and day of beauty process as easy as talking to a friend while getting ready.
