My fiancé is a professional wedding and commercial cinematographer and claims that Theresa Huang and her team are the best when it comes to hair and makeup artists. Caroline Tsai, the manager does an amazing job keeping up with email communication and appointment confirmations. For the engagement session in late August, I booked with Tina Kikawa since her portfolio naturally fits my style. She was flexible with traveling so we decided to meet at our photographer's studio in Tustin area where she showed up on time and prepped all the makeup and tools. Tina was friendly throughout the whole time and helped me feel relaxed meanwhile she managed to listen carefully on what I was looking for. It was getting hot outside(past 87 degree) and I was stressing out that the sweat may ruin my makeup throughout the day. Tina recommended me to get the airbrush since it would last longer and to my surprise, my makeup was still flawless in the evening time as the photoshoot ended! I'm so glad I got the airbrush and listened to her! Tina was meticulous and even willing to fix small things and she delivered what I envisioned how my hair and makeup should look like for that day. In the end I'm so happy how well it turned out in person and in the engagement photos! Thank you Theresa, Tina and Caroline! read more

My wedding was on 8/18/12 and I had Tina as my hair and makeup artist for my big day! She was great! I originally booked someone else more than six months ago, the unprofessional artist (her initial is GL) double book another bride who has a wedding 1-2 hours person costs me, I decided to fire her and search for others, then I found Theresa the very last minute ;-) Theresa and her design team were so professional and wonderful to work with!! Very flexible for scheudling, highly trained team and very friendly and nice! I would definitely recommend other brides who are searching for hair+makeup to use Theresa and her team! Try to book a hair+makeup trial and upgrading to airbrush makeup for face and body, it evens out the discoloration on your skin :-) read more

Recently had my engagement session with Clara and it was great! I was really pleased with the way my makeup came out. I did the airbursh upgrade and I highly recommend everyone to do this! It's amazing how the foundation is so seamless and doesn't feel like it was caked on. I haven't seen my engagement photos yet but I'm sure it will come out great and partially because of Clara. read more

I can't believe my last Yelp review was FIVE years ago but I just had to come back to share about my hair and makeup experience here. I was referred by a friend who looked breathtakingly beautiful on her wedding day and who has impeccable taste, so I knew I couldn't go wrong. My goal was to look natural for engagement pictures and my wedding day since I'm someone who spends 5 minutes daily on makeup and every time I've gotten makeup done by Asians they always make me look pale like a geisha (I'm on the darker side for an Asian since I'm not good about sunscreen and tan in 10 minutes). At my first consultation with Theresa, she was super sweet and really made an effort to get to know my personality, and she totally even clicked with my mom too. She paired me up with Christy, who did an amazing job making me look beautiful but still natural for my engagement pictures. I had gotten 2 hours of sleep the night before my engagement shoot but from the pictures you can hardly tell at all because it looked so flawless, but I still looked like myself! She put so much effort into my hair (I wanted it half up) that it easily could have worked as wedding hair. Just did my preview with Christy last week also, where she spent 4 hours creating two hairstyles from the pictures I showed her. I was so thrilled at how they turned out and my bridesmaids LOVED them too, and they all said I made a great choice in hair and makeup. It's so wonderful having to worry about one less thing at my wedding and knowing that all of us will be in great hands. Another great thing is that the studio manager Caroline is SO extremely prompt about responding to emails and answering questions thoroughly, and everyone at the studio is just so friendly. Photographer and hair/makeup are one of the first things I booked after venue because everyone says pictures are the one memento that remain after all the wedding craziness (other than everlasting true love of course), so I totally recommend TH Hair and Makeup and make sure to book early! read more

They are amazing. I had my wedding on Jan18. Since i live in Utah, i didn't have time to research on what kind of hair and makeup style that I want before the wedding day and I also didn't have trial before. However, Theresa and Christy they are so helpful. Christy recommended me to try the airbush makeup, I remember she told me to add $15 more, but at the end they charged me $80 sth. I don't know did i hear it wrong, but i think it's really expensive. I kept telling myself this is a once in a life time event, so it is worth it. Honestly, i have to say the airbush makeup is amazing and kept my makeup all day. Christy is very skillful and talented. She knows I like longer lashes, so she helped me to tape two fake lashes and also I requested to have double eyelid tapes on my eyes, Christy and Theresa both were working together to help taping it and did my hairs. They do care their clients and always wants the best for them. i have to admit that I really like the hair Christy did on me. I love the curls, and it didn't require any touch up. I highly recommend Theresa and her team esp Christy to my friends. They are fantastic. read more

I met with Joanna this past weekend to do my bridal hair and makeup preview! I was such a handful, for a customer, but Joanna was the best! She helped me with a couple different makeup looks and she put my hair into an awesome updo! Joanna was very patient with me and continues to help me if I contact her with questions. I parked in a metered parking spot so every time my timer when off, I had to run down and put more money into the machine. She worked around this and was not in the least annoyed with me. I keep asking her questions and she guides me without telling me what would her choice would be. She really wants me to decide what I want for myself! She listened to my crazy ideas and was able to do exactly what I was thinking! Joanna is really sweet and easy to talk to. I had a lot of fun doing my bridal preview with her. The time went by really fast! She was so kind to meet with me on a Saturday afternoon. I am really happy we spent a lot of time really working on my bridal look so it will make the wedding day much easier. I also want to talk about Caroline, because she has been a tremendous help to me since day one. She is very responsive every time I need anything. I asked her about something that wasn't even related to hair and makeup and she went above and beyond to help me. Caroline thought Joanna's style would be a perfect fit for me and she was right!Caroline is always so cheerful and sweet. I'm really happy I have been able to work with her for my wedding. It's amazing how one person's attitude can make the wedding planning so much happier, easier, and better!! If I ever need anything, I know I can ask her and she will help me. That means so much to me. Thank you Joanna, Caroline, and the Kohnur team for being the best at what you do. No other vendor has made me feel so special and so excited for my wedding day!!! Thank you for putting so much care into everything you do. It really shows. Thank you Joanna and Caroline for everything you have done to help me and thank you for making me feel so special!!! read more

First of all, this business really got the "running a business" down! Starting from initial emails to booking, everything went seamlessly. I was so shocked at how prompt they replied, not to mention sending me a reminder email with information to prepare for my session!! Love that! I went in for hair and makeup with Christy for our engagement session this past Sunday. I normally don't wear much makeup nor do I know much about it so I didn't have a picture of what I wanted. When I told Christy, she showed me a couple of pictures from Pinterest and asked "do you like this?" "How about this?" Through those questions, she was able to figure out that I liked clean and natural style of makeup with not too much glitter. I couldn't be happier that she asked those questions to figure me out! Needless to say, my makeup came out amazing. And my hair came out even better than the inspiration picture that I brought in. The only downside I can think of is having to take off the makeup and undo the hair once the day was over! Can't wait for my preview session next week! read more

Theresa's team helped make me, my bridesmaids and the mother of the bride and groom look beautiful on my special day! My husband is a wedding photographer (www.harrisonlongphtoography.com) and he has seen a lot of makeup artists work on brides and he was really impressed on how naturally gorgeous he made all of us look! He has worked with Theresa's team before and knew they would do an awesome job. Monica was my makeup artist and she was so kind and understanding to what I wanted. I paid for a trial with her and she walked me through every step of what she was using and always checked in on me with what I wanted. With my hair, she tried 3 styles on me during my trial and was really honest in which one she thought was really "me". She has this sense of women and what compliments your personality and style. I was most appreciative that she was so kind to my mom. My mom had a lot of feedback, but Monica was able to calm her in a really respectful way and help her understand the style we were going for. On the day of, Monica, Theresa and another one of their assistants worked on us and they were so organized. They had a schedule of who would be getting hair and makeup done and by who, which helped organize a frazzled bride a lot. I've been part of wedding parties before where no one knew when they would go or they couldn't decide who should go first. Theresa's team helps eliminate that. She also gave us a sheet of tips of what to do before the big day for all of us. My wedding was a romantic, whispy feel and they helped make each of my bridesmaids fit this theme perfectly! I loved their hair and makeup! They looked like they came out of anthropologie ad and the makeup was so natural, but helped highlight their individual beauty that day. The moms also loved their hair and makeup, which is amazing because they are both pretty particular! I got the airbrush makeup for an additional $30 and it was totally worth it! My skin looked flawless all day and I really did feel like I was "glowing." Our ceremony and reception was all outdoors, and my makeup lasted all the way until 1am! I would say that is definitely worth the extra cost. Thanks again to Monica and Theresa for helping me and my bridesmaids feel beautiful! It's a bit of an investment, but I think it was totally worth it looking back. read more

If there was some way for me to give SIX stars, I would wholeheartedly provide that for Theresa. As someone who has extremely high expectations and is very picky, I was a little nervous about the wedding day. Our trial went extremely well (refer to my first review) and I wondered if she would be able to recreate a look that I'd fallen in love with. Well Theresa went above and beyond and made me look EVEN BETTER than the trial!! My hair and makeup were amazing! I have to say that the wedding day started off with a huge -bang- because of Theresa - as another reviewer put it, this was the one vendor that didn't make mistakes but delivered more than expected! And I knew that people weren't just telling me that I looked gorgeous because they were being nice - I heard it so many times and every comment felt genuine. It doesn't sound humble but she made me into a stunning bride. Her team also made all of my bridesmaids and mother look so pretty. Some of them are generally insecure with their appearances but after Theresa's team's makeovers, they all felt beautiful. Back to those small touches - Theresa had created a bridal beauty emergency kit for me to use! And it came it very handy with the different changes made throughout the day. Also when I wasn't sure which necklace to accessorize with my dress, Theresa gave the perfect solution: wear one for the ceremony and the other for the reception. Some tips: - Book Theresa as soon as you think you might want her! She has been getting really busy. I was lucky that someone backed out on booking her. - Trust Theresa's advice and be flexible; she truly cares about making you look as beautiful as possible. - Make sure to have chairs set up for the day of (I didn't think of this! it may have delayed us just a little bit) Besides the fact that I absolutely love how I looked on the wedding day, that Theresa and her team were professional 100% of the time, and that Theresa provided valuable advice not just about hair and makeup, the final highest praise I can provide is that I wish she lived in NY (or me in LA) so I can hire her again! I have a couple of special events to go to and I wish she could do my hair/makeup. Hopefully I'll have one in LA again soon : ) read more

Caroline led a fantastic team for our engagement shoot and hair and makeup for my wedding this past week. Caroline listened to all my concerns and wishes and paired me with right artists for my sessions. I ended up with Katie as my makeup artist and Tokiko as my hair stylist. I mentioned to Caroline that as most brides want to 'look like themselves', I wanted to look like a bride and not afraid to have some makeup caked on me. Caroline laughed as she listened and selected the perfect team for me. Both Katie and Tokiko were fantastic!! Katie did all my make up through out from my engagement, preview to my big day. With each session, it got better and better, which I didn't believe was possible. I couldn't be more pleased with how I looked and felt on my wedding day. Tokiko got my personality right away and was able to come up with right hair style for me. Her vision helped pull together a clean, polished, elegant look. All my bridesmaids and my mom also looked amazing. They all had slightly different hairstyles and make up that accentuated their own features and personalities. Now I know I have a team for all my special occasions! read more

Tokiko from Kohnur was my main makeup and hair artist for my two day wedding. She was so lovely to work with and she put up with my indecisiveness to the point where I even had to have a last minute second hair trial because I really couldn't decide. She created three looks for me on my two wedding days (1 Buddhist/1 Catholic) and she was so calming to be around. She also did our engagement shoot hair and makeup as well which was also great. Thank you!! read more

I knew I wanted them to do the makeup for my wedding from the moment I chatted with Caroline on the phone. She put so much thought into pairing me up with the right artist. It just shows how much they care about their clients. Plus, Caroline is quick to respond to emails and is super sweet to boot. She paired me up with Tokiko, who is incredibly talented and nice. I had only a couple hours of sleep the night before my preview/engagement shoot because I had food poisoning. I know, perfect timing right? She still managed to make my super tired face look great for the shoot. My eye makeup looked amazeballs. I can't wait to see what she does on my wedding day. read more

I recently had a makeup and hair preview with Clara at Theresa's studio and I loved the way everything turned out. I always thought blush made me look too done up, but Clara pulled it off perfectly. She was really responsive to the way that I wanted my makeup done. When I got home, my fiance was suspiciously surprised and said I looked really pretty. =] Theresa was also very understanding and easy to communicate with despite me being very last minute with everything. Even though I only had a really loose idea of what I wanted for hair, she was really helpful and recommended that I added a braid to the back, which I was unsure about at first, but loved it after it was executed. Clara also had me try on different hair accessories to help me search for my own. Only downside is now I want to curl my hair every day and spend more time in the morning trying to do my makeup! Overall a really pleasant experience and highly recommended. Just make sure not to panic park like I did a few blocks away. They have plenty of parking right next to the building (although you'll still have to pay for parking). read more

I previously met with Theresa for a consultation and my engagement photos. I really liked Theresa, her style, and her studio. After talking with me about my dress, my wedding, and what kind of look I wanted, Theresa paired me up with Tokiko. I'm getting married at the end of this month, so I had my preview with Tokiko over the weekend. I brought my mom because I knew that she would be honest, and she knows best :) I previously saw Tokiko's portfolio and the reviews on Yelp, so I was hopeful. I showed her a picture of my dress and a few ideas I had for my hair. For makeup, I told her that I wanted a natural look with contouring to bring out my features, and rosy cheeks. Tokiko completely delivered. I can be pretty picky about my makeup and how I look (which drives my fiance crazy), but my mom and I were so pleased with Tokiko's work. I looked great. Throughout the preview, Tokiko was friendly and professional. I felt comfortable with her and her work showed that she understood what I wanted. She did the makeup portion first, and when my mom and I told her that we loved it, she moved on to my hair. She gave me the choice of 2 styles. My mom and I loved the first style she did, which was a loose bun, but she still showed me a second style. Both styles were beautiful, but my mom and I felt that the first was more bridal and matched my dress. After the preview, I'm so excited for my wedding day. I can't wait for the hair, makeup and dress to all come together. read more

I highly recommend TH and her team. They were VERY flexible with my wedding day timeline even up till the night before. The make up was light and natural unlike some other places I checked out. Christy (my day-of artist) spent a lot of time making me look beautiful. The price is definitely worth every penny!! I will use TH and her team for my next big event. To all the brides-to-be...TH is definitely the one to have on your special day. read more

Theresa is MAGIC. My wedding was in April 2019 and Theresa was my stylist for hair and makeup. From our first phone call I knew she was the perfect fit; she was attentive, friendly, knowledgable, and super caring. She is genuinely committed to bringing your wedding look to life. Her team also took care of my bridesmaids, and I was amazed at how thorough her and her team were at understanding the individual hair and skin types for each of my bridesmaids. Thank you, Theresa!!! read more

Theresa did my makeup and hair for my wedding engagement photo shoot and I loved it! She made me feel so pretty and look beautiful in my pictures! Theresa did a wonderful job making the makeup look natural yet glamorous. She asked the right questions so that the makeup would match the outdoor garden picture setting (at Huntington Garden) and my outfits. She has a great personality and was really great talking to me during the makeup session and making me feel comfortable. After the engagement session my fiance and I went to eat out at a restaurant and a stranger approached our dinner table to tell me how pretty I looked! I've never had anyone do that to me randomly and I believe it was Theresa's makeup that made me look so beautiful! I plan to book Theresa for my wedding makeup. She or her staff did not solicit me for this review - I did it because I loved her services so much! Thank you! read more

My wedding was on 5/3 and I couldn't have been happier with Theresa and Summer! I loved my trial makeup but Theresa changed up my eye makeup a little bit to make it even prettier! She is really an amazingly talented makeup artist. Summer did my mother in law and mom's makeup and they both looked so pretty and it was totally age appropriate. She even put natural fake lashes on my mom, which I think was a first for her. My mom really liked her makeup, which made me so happy. I highly recommend Theresa's company and specifically Theresa and Summer. They are so sweet and fun to work with too :) read more

I got married on July 1st and used Theresa Huang and her make up team for my wedding day. They were very professional and on time for my makeup appointment. All my bridesmaids and moms looked amazing, and even the groom had a little touch up done by the team. We all looked stunning for the photos. Theresa Huang did my makeup and hair, and I absolutely loved it. My skin was not at its best condition on my wedding day, but Theresa was able to make it look flawless. I had an additional style change during reception, and she was very patient and supportive throughout the busy day. I got so much compliments after the wedding for my entire look. Theresa helped to make me the star on my BIG day. It was such a fun experience working with her. Thank you Theresa!!! I am truly happy to have you as a part of our wedding. I definitely recommend Theresa for any bride to be, and book her way in advance. I booked her like almost a year in advance. In the end what ends up remaining other than memories are the photos......so you need a good photographer and a GREAT makeup artist. read more

Theresa rocks! I first met Theresa 8 months ago when I was searching for the perfect makeup artist for my wedding in Santa Barbara. She came highly recommended by a friend who used her for her wedding 2 years ago. We hit it off right away and after the trial session, I knew she was the one for me. Her work was very elegant and timeless, which was exactly what I wanted. I did a photo shoot after my trial session and everything came out beautiful. It was just lovely. I fell in love with her work that I decided to take private makeup lessons. After all, a woman needs to look great not just on her wedding day, but also everyday, right? My now-husband compliments on my makeup every time I wear it. It looks natural and makes my eyes pop. I love it. On the big day, Theresa was amazing and my hair & makeup was just perfect. My husband's jaw dropped when he first saw me. That truly was a priceless moment. Throughout the whole night, everyone kept telling me how beautiful and elegant I looked, including some of my overly-critical relatives (you know the type). Despite the teary moments and the long photo sessions in the sun, the makeup lasted the entire day (12 hours) without running or smearing a bit. Also, the airbrush made my skin look flawless in every picture. I couldn't be happier. All in all, Theresa is a talented artist who goes above and beyond for her brides and I will definitely recommend her to all my friends. Thanks again, Theresa, for making me a beautiful bride and also for teaching me makeup! read more

Theresa and her team did an awesome job on our hair and make up along with the hair and make up for my bridesmaids during our BIG day! She also did my make up during engagement shoot which is fabulous! She brings a lot of ideas and suggestions that are not overwhelming or pushy. Very easy to communicate with - she answers all your questions and responds to email quickly. And most importantly, she wants you to look even more beautiful than ever! My bridesmaids were also very happy with their hair and make up. I love her hair and make up style... We felt like a Hollywood Celebrity! :) I would absolutely recommend her to a bride who wants professional atmosphere and look exceptionally GORGEOUS. Thank you Theresa! :) read more

I generally do not like to be in photographs. I tend to be a bit self critical and insecure of my offset facial features. That said, till this day, my wedding photos are the only pictures I am proud to show off. Even the closes up shots were absolutely incredible, you couldn't see any stray hairs or flaky foundation -- the make-up and hair was flawless!! The day totaled 18+ hours until the end of the night (with all the dancing, sweating and strong winter winds) my look remained fresh & intact. Oh yeah, did I mention my day was on Jan 1st?! Yes ppl, I dragged them out the first day of the year to make me look fab... they promised and definitely delivered! I had the pleasure of having all three angels work on my bridal party. Theresa, Monica and Manning were exceptional!! I even convinced my mother and MIL to not go to their usual hair stylist and trust Theresa and her team. The TH team arrived perfectly on time. Each with a smile on their face and super excited to start on our makeovers. I was still groggy when they arrive but we immediately fed off of their enthusiasm and somehow became a bunch of giddy schoolgirls ready to get dolled up. It was so much fun! The TH team was funny, they're all gorgeous & talented and most importantly ~ very patient. Mothers: TH team did a wonderful job keeping the traditional (Asian mother acceptable) style while not looking at all like an old-fashioned grandmother. My mothers were very pleased and till this day compliments the TH team on their professionalism and willingness to accommodate 'motherly' pickiness. They LOVED it! Bridesmaids: TH team took their time to help make each of my bridesmaids perfect. Their attitude and concerns were with "how do you feel?", "how do you like this style?" and most importantly... "Are you comfortable with this look?" Monica and Manning took each of my girls and gave them their personal attention making sure that they would be comfortable and confident all day/night. I'm very happy that their attention was on each individual and not just all about the bride. I had the most glamorous bridesmaids -- who almost outshined the bride (no joke). All my girls looked amazing!! Bride: I had the special treatment all around from Theresa. From make-up to hair, I booked her all to myself and I'm soooo happy I did (along with the choice of choosing airbrush make-up - seriously worth it!). Without a doubt, Theresa is the most fabulous fashionista tagged with a generous heart. She will go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything is spot on! (example: she even ran outside to the courtyard to find me before my formal entrance to touch up my make-up). I mean, who does that?! Seriously LOVE HER!!! It's important you click with the people you're working with, especially on your big day. Theresa makes it easy because she's so genuine - it's impossible to find anything negative to say about this girl. She is professional, courteous, talented, patient, kind and her smile is contagious! Hiring Theresa and her team was the best decision I made for my event. Her team was the only 'vendor' that didn't cause any hiccups and that's the type of security you want for your big day. Call her, meet with her, and judge for yourself... you won't regret it! read more

As a wedding coordinator, I've been recommending Theresa Huang for hair & make-up for years. My brides would always rave about her and I always knew that I could send someone to her with 100% confidence that they would be happy. On July 5, Theresa did my hair & make-up for a maternity photo session and my experience was absolutely incredible. Typically, I don't love getting my hair & make-up done. I'm just not much of a girly-girl and I'm always worried about looking like someone other than myself once it's all said and done. Theresa was so reassuring and I was completely at ease from the minute I sat down in her chair. I really tried to keep my mouth shut and avoid micro-managing the process and just let her do her thing. In the end, I was thrilled with the results and had a ton of fun during the process. Seriously, Theresa is so sweet, reassuring and understanding. There's no way you could be nervous around her. As I always have, I still HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for beautiful hair & make-up -- especially on a day as important as your wedding day. I also know that Theresa personally trains all of her staff to work just like her so you can be absolutely confident when hiring anyone from her team. Have fun!!!! :) read more

This review is for Monica Chiu of TH Makeup Design. Monica was my hair and makeup artist for my big day (back in May, so this is an overdue review) and she also did my preview session back in March. She was very friendly and professional. She made me feel so at ease so I knew I was in good hands (and you are!). She also detail-oriented - she asked me questions about the conditions of my face (if it gets oily, red, etc) so that she can apply the correct product on my face. Also, one of my eyelids is a little droopier than the other so she asked if i wanted her to correct it with eyelid tape. And depending on your photographer's style, she will even tailor how light or heavy your makeup will look so that you will look even more stunning in your photographs as well as in person. I loved how my hair turned out too - a side textured up-do. If I could afford it, I would hire her to do my hair and makeup for any formal event I was attending! If you're a bride looking into hair and makeup, definitely consider TH Makeup Design and ask for Monica (although, I'm sure you can't go wrong with anyone from their team). They may be a bit on the pricey side, but spending a extra few $$ will give you some piece of mind that you WILL look your absolute best on your wedding day. If you are still skeptical and just happen to have some extra $$, do a preview session and you can decide for yourself! read more

I can't sing enough praises for Theresa Huang and her team of amazing artists. Theresa first did my make-up and hair for my engagement shoot and she did an awesome job. I was really looking forward to the magic that she and her team would do on my wedding day for me and my bridal party and sure enough, they were fantastic. First, the wedding venue was quite a far distance to travel and not only did the team arrive on time, they were there early. Theresa did my hair and make-up and Summer, Betty and Julie took care of my bridal party. All our make-up turned out beautifully. We looked natural and Theresa and her team really know the techniques to enhance each person's features. Our hair styles turned out fantastic as well. My make-up lasted all day and right through the evening and my hair was completely in place by the end of the reception. All I needed was a light touch-up for my lipstick and other than that, I didn't have to worry about a thing! The make-up session prior to the wedding was so much fun! We all got our hair and make-up done in the same room and Theresa and her team were really fun to work with. We were laughing and chatting away and it felt like a spa day for us. They all made the prepping process such a blast I wasn't even nervous at all :) Thank you Theresa and amazing ladies for contributing to my unforgettable and perfect wedding. You guys are the absolute best and I'm so grateful for all of you! Keep up the great work :) read more

It was a pleasure working with both Tokiko, Theresa and their staff at the studio. Tokiko is my makeup artist and she is very sweet and cares about what you want and will give you her honest opinion. The first time I had my makeup trail I had an allergic reaction to something and my eyelid swelled up. I called them the next day and they were very concerned. It turned out I had an allergic reaction to eye shadow primer. Both Theresa and Tokiko were very smart and involved in figuring out what I was allergic to. I came in for a second makeup trail ( complimentary )and Tokiko tried varies makeup and tachniques and found out I was allergic to eye shadow primer. A happy ending to all this. Even if you have sensitive skin TH and her team will do what they can to resolve it and make you look amazing. read more

My wedding was on July 21, 2012 and I would highly recommend Theresa Huang and her team of highly trained professional stylists for hair and make-up. Theresa and her design team were so professional and wonderful to work with!! I love how Theresa Huang is such a perfectionist (like myself!!) and does not stop until she sees that everyone's make up and hair are virtually flawless. I would definitely recommend other brides who are searching for hair+makeup to use Theresa. I know that I wanted to spend the extra money on make-up and hair because I wanted to look great in the photos. I have only seen a few photos so far from my photographer since it was just a few weeks ago, but WOW, did I look good!!! Trust me, it was a WAY improved version of what I normally look like!! ;) My bridesmaids were all happy with their hair and makeup and my mom was thrilled as well! Brides: I would highly recommend doing a hair+makeup preview and upgrading to airbrush makeup and also airbrush tan on your arms, face, neck and back. My skin looked so even and smooth...especially in the photos. :) read more

I could not thank Theresa and her team for an amazing job on my big day (05/19/2012). Manning was my lead artist.. all I can say is flawless!!! I was a little hesitant at first that Theresa was not going to be there at my wedding day, but I had Manning do a hair and make trial for my engagement photos and I was blown away. I don't wear heavy make-up on the regular, but she still managed to make my make-up look so natural. I got the airbrush of course! In which I highly recommend! The rest of the team were also so amazing. I had a large bridal party (8 bridesmaids), my mother, mother-in-law, and my flower girl had all their hair and make-up done. The team was on time and finished early enough so we had a few minutes to relax!!! Manning and her team were professional and amazing to work with! I also loved the girl/ small talks:) read more

When I first spoke with Theresa, I loved her ideology of creating a custom bridal look for each bride. She set me up with Tokiko as my hair and make-up artist and she was amazing! She is so calm and easy to talk to and so skilled at both hair and make-up. I am not used to wearing a lot of make-up, and she did such a good job of making me feel pretty and still feel like myself. She also did an incredible job with my hair. I received so many compliments on it all night and afterwards when I would show people pictures. Vivian, Emily and Chloe did my mother, mother-in-law and bridesmaids' hair and make-up and everyone looked great! read more

Theresa and her team did my friend's hair and makeup for her wedding and she looked amazing so I knew I wanted the same team on my wedding day. So naturally, the moment I set my wedding date I called Theresa and booked them, which was a year in advance to assure their availability. Theresa paired me up with Tina and I couldn't be happier! She made me feel at ease and really understood what I wanted. Tina recently did my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures. This was the first time that I met Tina so to give her an idea of my style, I showed her a couple of Facebook pictures of myself with casual makeup and hair and of myself glammed up. I also showed her a picture of the hairstyle that I wanted, but was afraid that I couldn't pull off because my hair was thinning (I blame it on the stress of planning a wedding). Tina assured me that my hair wouldn't be a problem and she would make my hair work. She basically teased new life into my hair and it looked exactly like the picture, if not, better. When I saw my engagement pictures, I was in awe because I couldn't believe how great I looked, I didn't realize I could look that good and still look like myself! I can't wait for Tina to do my hair and makeup for my wedding day. As a crazy bride planning my wedding, it's so relieving to not have to worry about how I'll look on my wedding day. read more

I had done both my Engagement Section 6/14/15 and Wedding Preview 1/6/16 with Aveline! I am very glad I made this choice! Engagement Section: My experience with Aveline is excellent! She is very calm and professional, so my panic attack was release right the way when she started to style me. She asked for my opinion every step if needed, and discuss with me how I want my style to be done. She also took care every concern I have and spent time on many details to make sure the style is perfect. My makeup and hair turns out very well and mimic the pictures I showed her. Everyone who see my final style has great compliment on how well it has been done. In addition, when I ask for opinion and options, she truly gives out suggestion from my point of view, so I don't have to go back and forth with the option I have. Wedding Preview Section: I had a wonderful time with Aveline, Premier artist, again!! The result is very nice! Aveline is very patient with my concerns and questions. I feel very comfortable with her suggestion. She is also very sensitive with how I feel about my style. I was uncertain about my hair and she offer to try something else and help me to figure out the final result. She is also very patient on every detail. I was concern for my eyelids folding differently to make my eyes looks uneven. She spend so much time to guide my eyelid to fold that I almost ask her to give up and move on. I am graceful that she spend so much time on tiny details, and during the process she is very positive and confident that she will make it right! To be honest, the price range is at the higher end. I hesitate at first even though I know how great they are. I did try out other studio, which only ask for 1/3 of the price for the preview section and much less for the actual wedding day. However, the exp and final result aren't even close. It is your wedding day!!! You want to look gorgeous!! Treat yourself nice as you will have tons of pictures to look back on your big day! It is worth every penny!! ALSO, Caroline is awesome!!! She is very responsive to the emails. She provided all the detail information and very friendly on all the questions I had. It is awesome to communicate with her, and she gives me a peace of mind. I did find some other studios hard to connect via email and/or phone. Caroline took care everything is a friendly but professional way! read more

As with all weddings, there are many, many decisions to be made--dates and venues and flowers and color schemes, down the to napkin fold and color. Extra complication in our case--my fiance and I are currently working in DC, but we're getting married at home in Southern California. I was worried about finding a makeup artist, because I never use makeup (it's laughable how little I have in my "makeup kit"), and I have so little hair, and the hair I DO have is lifeless and would never be bothered to hold any sort of shape or body. My photographer recommended Theresa and her team to me--and I was absolutely blown away! First off, Theresa's whole team is incredibly professional. We scheduled a (Facetime) consultation with Theresa, I got a calendar invite and reminder, and a follow-up email after the meeting. Theresa herself is incredibly sweet, and took the time to sort of understand my personality and my worries about the whole makeup and hair thing. She paired me up with Tina, and set up a preview session. Flash forward a few weeks, my fiance and I drove out to Pasadena to have the makeup trial. I was still pretty nervous, but Tina was so cute and sweet, I couldn't help but relax and (gasp) enjoy myself a bit! The preview took much longer than I expected (probably because I am a terrible judge of how long hair/makeup should take), but Tina took the time to get to know me, answer any questions I had, and explain the process and her thinking. I was very not confident in my ability to judge hair and makeup, but Tina has a wonderfully artistic eye, and had great suggestions. I think it's magical how she turned my itty-bitty bit of lifeless hair into these beautiful, voluminous, cascading waves. The airbrush makeup actually feels wonderful--I didn't feel like I had any makeup on, and my skin didn't feel scratchy or oily or in any way uncomfortable (which is my usual complaint with makeup). Also, I'm usually terrified of eyeliner (something about a pencil coming towards my eye), but I was strangely calm in Tina's gentle hands. By the end of the session, I actually caught my breath when I saw myself in the mirror--who knew I cleaned up so good? :P As averse to makeup as I am, I was a little reluctant to wash it off later that night. There are a lot of wedding-related decisions that are stressing me out--but I'm happy to say that I'm confident that Theresa and Tina was the right decision for me! read more

At my trial session, their Senior Make-up Artist TOKIKO helped me out with creating my look for the wedding day AND doing a different look for my engagement photo session. She was attentive to details and was definitely motivated to give it her best and show me my best looks. I had no idea what would look best with my dress. She showed me pictures and gave great insightful suggestions. I love that she was not pushy and overly opinionative. She just did her job to show me what she can do, told me what she thinks, and asked how do I feel about the styles. We started with one style (the center bun). Though I told her I liked it... I can do that for my wedding, she insisted on showing me another style because she did not see that "OMG I LOVE THIS!" face. She chatted with me some more to get a feel of my personality, daily looks, perferences... etc. Then, she helped me with another style (side bun). Yep, that one I loveee!! So, I thought she was done with my hair.... WRONG. She knew I was going to get my engagement photos done in that same afternoon. She asked to see my engagement photo session's outfits and suggested a 3rd look. So, I can have different hair styles in my engagement photos and wedding day photos. How amazing is that?? read more

Caroline, the Studio Manager, was so helpful and answered all the questions I had (and I had a lot!). Even when my engagement shoot had to be rescheduled due to rain, she let me know that I could re-schedule within 48 hours. Katie, my Senior Artist, was warm and friendly. She listened to my particular needs and nailed down the look from the pictures I showed her. Overall a very pleasant experience! Loved that they were local to our place in Pasadena :) read more

One of the most organized vendors to work with for a wedding. Their website is not only pleasant looking but has a great portal to interact through (most other wedding vendors should take note of this and learn to adapt to the modern internet based era). Caroline the manager is super on top of things - I often get emails way late at night from her so I know she's working hard. So far I've only had my wedding preview with Tokiko, who I am excited to work with for my wedding ;D She's so friendly and was very open to my thoughts. I will update the review after the wedding day. Although I do have a lot of confidence in this entire team since I was once a bridesmaid in a wedding that use the girls from Theresa Huang. They were a fun group, on time, and came ready to work with a big group of girls. read more

Theresa is the BEST! She did my makeup and hair for my engagement shoot, and I love everything about it! She's really nice and made me feel comfortable the whole time (especially important since I don't usually wear makeup or do much with my hair!). She also did my fiancé's makeup (just some touch up and hair styling) and he was anxious at first but he also loved the whole experience! We also booked her for our wedding and can't wait! read more

Kohnur - Makeup Artists Near Me

Theresa's artists came to the hotel on time and ready to work! We had so much fun getting all the girls and moms made up, and each artist really listened to what each girl wanted, even if it was something we didn't like. They even provided me with a bridal emergency kit that contained things like tissues, qtips, and gum. Manning did my bridal hair and makeup, which held up all day and night despite it being 100 degrees outside! I received compliments on my hair and makeup all night, and even looking back on photos now I am so glad I hired Theresa and her wonderful team! A tip for prospective clients: definitely say yes to the airbrush makeup upgrade, especially if your event is in the summer! read more

I just had my makeup and hair preview with Tokiko and I was so happy! Every time I get my makeup done by someone else, I always feel like there's something lacking and I have an image of what I want to look like, but other artists can't quite get it right. Coming to Tokiko changed my mind; she totally delivered that look for me! I went in nervous about looking too made up because I don't usually wear makeup, but Tokiko struck a balance between pretty and natural. I felt like a better version of myself, but still like myself which is very important to me for my wedding day. It also lasted the whole day, and at the end of the day, I was still getting compliments! I also really like the way Theresa decorated her studio. It felt feminine and laid back. Theresa herself is very laid back and easy-going, and is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Theresa and her team! read more

Believe the hype ladies! These girls are the absolute best at what they do. I've had my fare share of being a bridesmaid (6 times and counting) and each time the make-up never suited my features or skin tone, so i knew that for my wedding i definitely wanted my girls to look their absolute best. My bridesmaids didn't know exactly how they wanted their hair, just a general idea and Theresa's team came up with great hairstyles for them. They did such a great job! Not only did they look beautiful but they still looked like themselves. My make-up artist was Tokiko and she is SO wonderful. I used my trial for the same day as my engagement shoot so i could take advantage of the make-up session. When my pictures came back i noticed that my face looked more washed out than i preferred, so i emailed Theresa and Tokiko and they responded immediately with solutions. On the day of my wedding, Tokiko's team showed up on time (at 6am!) and were well prepared. I don't know how she did it, but my make-up looked fantastic and my hair came out so beautiful. Even better yet, hair and make-up lasted all day, even in 100 degree weather! All i needed to do was re-apply lipstick, which they give you in as part of their touch-up kit. Theresa even emailed me recommendations for skin products since i was starting to get break-outs. I used them religiously until my wedding day and it definitely improved my skin tone and texture. These girls are great, they really care about you and do such an amazing job! read more

Review is for Stylist: Tokiko I had my preview with Tokiko last month and absolutely loved it! She was very attentive and did my hair exactly the way I had envisioned on the first try. Usually at previews, they set you up with two different looks, but because I had already achieved what I wanted initially, I didn't bother with a second look. Tokiko is a great stylist and I would definitely recommend her for your wedding or engagement shoot! P.S. Definitely get the airbrush upgrade. It makes your skin look flawless!! Note: This review was written in order to get a free airbrush upgrade on the day of the wedding. I think many of the reviews here are to get the free upgrade, but they really are pretty good! read more
