Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto.. You're wondering who I am, (Secret, secret. I've got a secret.) Machine or mannequin.. With parts made in Japan.. I am thee modern man... We settled into the peaceful Kohnami Restaurant... We shared a delicious large bottle of "Cold Sake".... "Nigiri Sushi" of Ahi Tuna, Yellowtail & Salmon... "California Rolls" upgraded to "real crab"..spot on good... And... simply the most beautiful n delish.. "Vegetable Yakisoba" w. grilled crisp vibrant purple cabbage, bok choy et al w. nicely al dente sauced noodles...transporting us to Tokyo..:) A wonderful midDay respite lunch for these Baby Boomers..:) I'm not a robot without emotions. I'm not what you see. I've come to help you find perfect Japanese Cuisine.. So we can have culinary savour.. I'm not a hero. I'm not a savior.. Forget what you know.. I'm just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control... Beyond my control.. We all need control...:) Best, Avram Styx Roboto Jr.

Because COVID was still prevalent when we were in town we ordered takeout from Kohnami. Everything we ordered was ready when promised and pickup was handled in a safe and professional manner. Among other things, we ordered Miso soup, edamame, seaweed salad, spicy tuna rolls, avocado cucumber rolls, green chili tempura rolls, and shiitake mushroom rolls. All were quite tasty and several were vegan which was important and necessary for half of our family. I thought the green chili tempura rolls were a particularly successful fusion of classic sushi restaurant rolls and southwestern cuisine. All that said, Kohnami is an average sushi place -- worth patronizing but not worth five stars.

This was my first time having sushi in Santa Fe and Kohnami is a solid casual dining restaurant for your sushi needs. Their menu is very expansive and I am curious about their hibachi items and bento boxes, but I stuck with sushi rolls and a few appetizers during this visit. I like that they have something for everyone here - whether you like your fish raw or cooked, as well as non-fish options. I stuck with a basic sake bomb for my beverage, but that's how I like them once in a while, and they do have plenty of other choices for those who indulge in alcohol. The green chile tempura was perfectly fried, but the ponzu sauce was quite plain and I preferred dipping my chile in soy sauce instead. The peppered tuna was also served with the same bland ponzu, but the tuna itself was nicely seared and tasty. For rolls, the rainbow, spicy tuna and Kohnami were all very good. My favorite was the Kohnami because of the delicious eel and tobiko it was topped with.

We were on a family vacation in Santa Fe, and we were craving sushi and ramen! We found this little place and we were so happy we picked this restaurant! The food was amazing and hit the spot! The service was nice as well. We had a very pleasant and welcoming experience! The restaurant was clean as well!

Quite possibly the best Japanese dining in Santa Fe. Great sushi and the bento box is always a great lunch or early dinner.

No one else came to take them away till the near end of our meal so I found that a bit odd. The restaurant is beautiful and even has a traditional Japanese eating area where you can sit on the ground. We all enjoyed our sushi, bento boxes, fried asparagus, and grilled avocado.

Happy Hour runs twice daily with reduced prices on food & beverages from 3-5p and 9-10p. They have an extensive sake menu categorized by flavor profile designed for pairings, along with a lean but modern wine list including detailed tasting notes. Japanese whisky and exotic green tea (try the kuki cha!) round out a full beverage program, and deep booths offer private views of the lush valley below. Chef Kiko Rodriguez offers a four-course tasting menu at an exceptional value for $65 - trying this or any of Paloma's suggestions from their fresh sushi menu (only restaurant in New Mexico with fish flown in from Japan daily) will surely please. Gloriously chilled tuna sashimi was thinly sliced cut with heat from fresh wasabi and a savory ginger shoyu. Hand rolls are served in pairs, and the spicy tuna was simple, elegant, and delightful - a perfect showcase of the freshest fish. Before switching to dessert, shaved ginger is also snappy and cleansing. I was absolutely mind blown by the Sakura Pannacotta - delicate and dreamy custard textured like chawanmushi with soft aromatic cherry blossom and the most delectable shortbread accent. Three light courses that were fully nourishing, absolutely satisfying, and delightfully delicious!

Geronimo doesn't really need another five-star review, but our experience tonight was so lovely…read morethat I am writing this. The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi!

The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.

The other specialty roll we tried was the Green River roll which was pictured on the menu but not listed on the menu. This one actually came with 10 pieces of sushi which was a great deal for sure. Service was great and fast. We ordered a total of 4 rolls and they staggered the delivery of them in such a way that we were able to enjoy them and not feel overwhelmed by the amount of sushi pieces that we had to eat. This way they were also very fresh as soon as we were ready to enjoy a different roll. The restaurant is located inside a shopping center building and while it's an older building the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. We were quickly able to sit down and proceed with ordering our food. Give them a try if you're in Santa Fe. Tasty and fresh ;)

We ordered to go, but I totally would've hung out in this area. I will know we ordered online and our order was delayed about 15 minutes past what was posted. The rules were very basic, but they were good. I wish they would've had more sauce on them. The portions were great, a solid rice to fillings ratio.
