The front clerk, as I walked past did not acknowledge. I walked towards the back looking at the suits. The second clerk did not acknowledge. Hmmm...ok. So I continued to search and about 8-10 mins in, the female came over. Not very inviting but doable. When I told her what I was looking for, her response was, nope can't do that and walked away. Now, I've been in the customer service industry most of my entire life. One thing I've learned, if you can't satisfy what the customer is looking for, maybe offer some alternatives that might solve the issue. If a customer is willing to spend $400 on a suit and $179 on a pair of slacks, you might want to be a little more attentive and engaging. So Men's Warehouse...this is now the second time I've had this experience, in this location, Westminster Md. I've had it with this place. I am not interested in speaking to someone from customer service, I'm not interested in anything. The associates need to be more attentive to the customers. Straighten it out!

She took her time pinning the hem and she also took the dress up in the shoulders a bit. I went to the junior's section, and found a handful of cute casual dresses but unfortunately everything I tried on was unflattering. I stopped by the women's restroom, which is located on the upper level. The pink tiles and vanity look like the original from the 60's or 70's. It could definitely use a facelift. Lol. I then checked out the shoe dept and sunglasses and lastly social dresses. I managed to find one cute dress in petites. It was originally $70 and I got it for $40. Boscov's has a variety and large selection of merchandise, but it's hit and miss for me. I have found that the junior's section has good prices, but other areas can be fairly pricy.

Overall I definitely would come back. Please don't ever change the second floor or maybe add some more neon if you do aha!

This is a shop that can satisfy the needs of the hipster who needs to dress up his retro a little bit, along with young professionals who want some classic flair. Yes, you can wear a tweed jacket over raw-selvedge denim jeans and make it look good. The shop's got a good selection of both new and old, the buying for vintage clothes is done well, and prices are very reasonable. If you wanna class up your act a little bit without breaking the bank, guys - this is a good place to stop. It's a little bit rockabilly, a little bit Mad Men, and a little bit Animal Collective. Hampden doesn't really have any other mens clothing stores (except thrift shops) so its a great addition to the neighborhood. Think of it like the sister...er..brother store to Double Dutch. Sixteen Tons also carries other man-gifts like wallets, cologne, belts, ties, hats, etc. The clothing can be quite pricey, depending on the item, but I did recently notice a sale bin! It's difficult for me to get my boyfriend to step into an actual store, or buy something vintage ("If its used, should it be cheaper?"), so its best that I come here alone and bring back what he doesn't want. I always end up asking a bunch of questions when I'm here- usually about sizing. When the owner is in the shop, he is warm and super friendly and helpful. There is another employee who always seems annoyed that I have the nerve to ask about an item; I really can't take that type of attitude. Customer service, man! I'm hesitant to dock Sixteen Tons a star because of this one guy's attitude. The owner has true vision and really caters to his clientele. He has helpful tips (more ties coming in next week!), good suggestions (how about a cool vintage belt for the guy who has everything?) and asks the right questions to really try to understand who you're buying for. He should pass these skills on to his employees!

The denim felt sturdy and well-made, and the associate who helped me was genuinely kind and attentive, which I really appreciated. That said, I was a little hesitant about the price--$140 for two pairs felt high for a small-town boutique. Out of curiosity, I looked up the return policy after my purchase and was surprised to see that they offer store credit only, even if the items are unused and still in the bag. While I completely understand that small businesses need to protect themselves, I do think a slightly more flexible return option--like even a short refund window--could help ease concerns for new customers. I wouldn't have minded if it had been clearly mentioned at checkout, but it caught me off guard after the fact. The store has a unique selection, though the style leans more toward bold, statement pieces like puffer tops and chunky jewelry, which may not be for everyone. I didn't see much else I wanted, so store credit wasn't the most helpful solution in my case. I love supporting women-owned businesses and truly want to see LUX succeed. With a few small updates--especially in how policies are shared--I think the boutique could be even better and attract even more loyal customers.
