When I picked up the dress, Julie told me that she took the time to do a hand-sewn hem on the delicate, beaded fabric so that she would be able to keep all of the beads in place. That said, I was a little hesitant about the price--$140 for two pairs felt high for a small-town boutique. Out of curiosity, I looked up the return policy after my purchase and was surprised to see that they offer store credit only, even if the items are unused and still in the bag. While I completely understand that small businesses need to protect themselves, I do think a slightly more flexible return option--like even a short refund window--could help ease concerns for new customers. I wouldn't have minded if it had been clearly mentioned at checkout, but it caught me off guard after the fact. The store has a unique selection, though the style leans more toward bold, statement pieces like puffer tops and chunky jewelry, which may not be for everyone. I didn't see much else I wanted, so store credit wasn't the most helpful solution in my case. I love supporting women-owned businesses and truly want to see LUX succeed. With a few small updates--especially in how policies are shared--I think the boutique could be even better and attract even more loyal customers.
