First off let me applaud Ben Long and his hardworking staff at the South Bay Galleria Kohl's Department Store. Ben was able to take my customer service experience to an entire different level. I was not able to find my size on the display shelf and a sales associate walked me to an electronic kiosk. She then scanned the items, chose the correct size, entered my coupon and had the items shipped to my home in less than five minutes! When the jeans did not correspond to the ticketed price she called for the store manager and Ben was already on the sales floor (imagine that). He asked that I call him directly at the store and he would make the adjustments over the phone, refunding the overcharged amount to my Kohl's card. All this was not a dream. It was a store manager and his staff working to not only give the customer the best experience in their store, but to also include compassion with a sense of urgency. Note: This review is only for Kohl's at the Galleria. Customer service is very bad. Not once did someone come up to ask me if I needed help. And when I asked for help looking for something, all I got was "It's somewhere over there (pointing with her finger). If it's not there, we do not have anymore". WTF? Don't they have inventory in the back? This was last week and my first time there. Last night, I tried to exchange something I bought last week. But they no longer had my size. I was going to buy more things despite the poor customer service experience I had last week. So here I am returning $5 worth of merchandise and buying at least $80. I did not have my receipt from last week and was told that I could not use the $10 Kohl's cash because I was returning something. I guess it doesn't matter if I bought way over $50 worth of merchandise. I was advised to keep the items so that I can use the Kohl's cash. Why would I keep something that doesn't fit??? I walked away and did not buy anymore stuff. I figured 2 bad experiences is enough. I'd rather pay more on merchandise if it means good customer service. I even gave the store manager a call today and he did not seem to care. No more Kohl's Galleria for me. Maybe I'll have better luck at the Torrance store. read more

I had a return to make from a purchase I made when I was out of town (I am not a regular Kohl's shopper). I stood in line on the first floor for about a 10 minutes and when it came to my turn I was told I had to go upstairs to make the return (no clear signs this couldn't be done in this line). After wandering around upstairs trying to find the return line I discovered this wasn't just customer service / returns- it was also a place to check out and sign up for gift registry's. I stood in line an additional 15 minutes as shoppers completed their purchases. While in line additional help was paged, but help showed up when my transaction was completed, so they must be understaffed. I understand consolidating services into one area, but why make it so difficult to make a return? Not making this an easy process makes me want to avoid making future purchases if every experience to return is like this. The store was clean and well organized, but even if I wanted to walk around and make another purchase I didn't have time as I had to get back to work. read more

Stopped into Kohl's today to get a suit as I saw they had advertised them online for a good price. I went into the men's area with no staff in sight. I had a lot of questions about cuts and different brands. Once I went to another department and found staff they sent someone over to help me. They didn't have what I needed or the style I wanted. All the suits are sold in separates so your odds of finding the matching pants to the jacket are unlikely. The only reason I gave two stars due to the gentleman who tried his best to help me. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I was humiliated in front of my daughter, family and other shoppers around me.. I was at Sephora to exchange a foundation to a different shade that matches my skin tone but there wasn't any so I put my foundation back in my bag. That's when an employee named Jules popped next to me and asked to search my bag. She assumed I was shoplifting so I showed her my bag, receipt and foundation. She then kept my foundation and said that that was not the receipt for it and that she was keeping my foundation.. I was appalled at such horrific accusation. She then told me that there's cameras and that she was going to call the police. I told her to check the footage bc i didn't steal anything and she still didn't believe me nor did not want to return my foundation. So i went to the front desk to speak to someone else who can help me with this problem. And turned out that she was wrong .. Jules did not even bother to apologize. This woman should not even be working for customer service. HORRIBLE job she's doing. ACCUSING and HARASSING me that way in front of my daughter and family for something i didn't do. I hope Jules learned her lesson she made a mistake the least she can do is apologize which i didn't even get. Sephora is one of my favorite places to shop at BUT never again going to that location. My first time here and I'd have to say that I'm not really a fan of this place. I had ordered some curtains online but they were too sheer so I brought back to store to return. I waited in line to return it when it was my turn, they redirected me upstairs to their return counter. I had to wait in another line for a solid 20 minutes (there was only two people ahead of me). The sales person was not very friendly and it just seemed to lack any type of real service. I guess there's a reason why I never really shop here. They seem to have a good selection of merchandise but Their prices seemed very high. read more

I like Kohl's because they have an excellent credit program that provides good discounts for the majority of their items. They also have a fabulous returns policy that is quick and efficient. What I don't like is that they are constantly full with crying kids, clothes are unorganized, and it just has the feel of a removed Walmart. I'm ambivalent about Kohl's since I enjoy some of the items I've purchased here but always feel sort of self conscious when I go in. Maybe living in the southbay has made me too bougie. read more

This kohls cheated me out of a full exchange for an item I purchased still having the receipt because I used the kohls cash given when I purchased the item. Mind you I did not go in asking for a refund, I asked for a exchange for the $100 of stuff I was about to purchase. Basically I bought a shirt original tag price - retail price of $44 of course cause its kohls I got it on sale for $24 and received $10 kohls cash which I used another day. When I went to return the shirt or im sorry exchange the $24 shirt for the $100 in basket. since none of the items I was purchasing had the exact same retail value of $44 i was not given a full exchange. I was given a $13 return and then had to purchase my items separate again spending another $100. I get that it was a promotion and had i asked for a return the $10 should be deduct but i asked for an exchange above the original price. Secondly their toy section is a disgrace. half empty shelves with the other half being tossed around with torn open boxes and missing pieces. It looks like a ghetto Ross toy department. read more

I'm really confused as to why I would have the AUDACITY to set into another Kohls in any city. They have the worst customer service. Once again I find myself in the jewelry department needing assistance, I will come back to what happened in just a moment, I asked the young clerk for a specific item in a specific size, after initially telling me no she asked another clerk if they had it. Let It Be noted that we are all standing within a foot of each other. The other clerk clearly says "oh we may have it in back stock". The clerk I was originally working with turns back around and says to me "oh no like I said we don't have it". She couldn't even look. A couple of Christmases ago I needed assistance looking at the same particular item, at the time it was for my daughter this time it was for my son, however two Christmases ago the clerk refused to even let me see it. She claims that she couldn't open the case, which also meant she was refusing to sell it to me and didn't give me the price on it by the way. The most recent time I was here was because I found something online and wanted to have my son try it on. Well when I got to the store they didn't have it in stock as they said and although I walked around the same area over 10 times, the man in the section did not even look my way, nor asked me if I needed assistance. On my way out of course there was a young lady very willing to help me however at this time I was too fed up and just left. I purchased a watch for my Mom and it stopped working. I couldn't find the receipt, but I know it was within the last 6 months. My Mom had been there prior and no one was able to assist her. We went back last night and NUBIA was Heaven sent she was able to help us return the watch and assisted my Mom in finding a new one. My Mom is 78 years young and Nubia had so much patience with her. I've shopped at Kohl's dozens of times and every single time I walk in I am greeted with a smile. And every single person I've asked for help when I need it are so happy to help. I've also called a couple times to see if they had something I had seen on line and they went and checked if they had it. Kohl's took over the old Mervyn's location at the South Bay Ghettoria. It's a bit smaller than the stand alone stores, so they have a smaller selection. The prices are reasonable, especially when you use the coupons, but don't expect your clothes to last. They need to improve the checkout. Good selection of tennis shoes. Be super careful to double check the security tags are removed from your items. I placed an order on 06/06/2019. On Kohl's website it states that delivery will be between 3-6 business days...They LIED. I paid $8.95 for delivery and my package did not arrive until 06/19/2019. This place had good deals on things but you have to come when there are new shipments and be prepared to dig through to find real deals. Time seems to slow down with soothing music and people slowly combing through aisles and aisles of items. The check out line always seems to have a wait and I noticed that they have an online order line, return line and check out line, however, everyone is in one big line because there are not enough check out clerks. Getting Kohl's Cash for purchases is a good way to incentivize you to bear the hunting for deals once again and wait in line to buy your items. read more

On Black Friday morning I went online and bought their 49" 4K TV deal for $249. They sent me an email that said "thank you" and so I quit looking for TVs. The other adds expired and then I could no longer get a Black Friday deal. Several hours later, Kohl's sent a "just kidding" email and said they were out of TVs - "too bad, so sad." As a result, I corresponded with customer service and they will not fulfill the TV or provide a substitute. I have filed complaints with the US FTC and CA Attorney General for fraud, and I might well head to small claims court. Needless to say - no more Kohls. read more

Bad customer service, Karen (one of the managers) was very rude and not helpful at all. I wanted to exchange my Christmas gift because size was too small for me and they gave me hard time because I didn't have an original receipt. I spent 30 minutes trying to find item that was exact same price as my gift so I can do even exchange (because they didn't have my item in bigger size), but when I got to the register they told me that my gift went on clearance and it's much less and they can't do even exchange. How I suppose to know it's clearance item if there is no clearance sticker on it. I didn't return my item right away cause I wanted to see if I can ask for receipt from person who gave me this gift. Long story short 10 minutes later I decided to go to customer service and return my item. But this time cashier said my item is gonna be even less than Karen told me 10 minutes ago!!! I said how is it possible!? They just told me one price and now you telling me it's gonna be even less?! And cashier said we just changed price on this item..... are you serious?! In 10 minutes they changed prices on the item they don't even have in the store?! Wow just wow! Very upset with this location. But I guess they make enough money to not to care about their customers. The dreaded return line it was long but the cashiers were fast. When I told them how much I appreciated how efficiently they were moving, They were very thankful, nice, and processed my return very quickly. My wife also found a Bra on the clearance rack, was $36.00 now $11.00. Fortunately for us the bar code wouldn't scan and the very nice cashier guy gave my wife a Vera Wang Bra for $5.00. read more

This review is not for the store itself, rather for their employees. The store is just like any other Kohl's. I recently went in to shop around, get my daughters some new clothes. At least that's what I had in mind. That's when I had the worst shopping experience of my life. My two beautiful daughters and I went up to the second floor where the kids sections is. We made our way to the toy section. Now, if you are familiar with the section, you know it's in the corner. Enclosed even. As I let my daughters look around the toy section, I was standing about 5-6 feet away. I was approached in the most rude manner ever imaginable by a male employee. He proceeded to rudely ask me if these were my daughters to which I replied yes. He went on to let me know that they couldn't be by themselves, and that someone was going to take them! I mean... The nerve!! I explained to him that they were within my sight and that I didn't need his opinion. But honestly, that's not okay AT ALL! First of all, who is he to come up to me to try to tell me what to do? The audacity! I'm sorry, I thought you worked for me, not the other way around. I would have been more understanding if he had a better approach technique, rather than be rude about it. If he was so concerned about my children being taken away (which is completely absurd), then I'm sure he would of been a lot nicer. There was no way possible my children were in any kind of abduction risk, I was standing 5 feet away LOL!! What I think he was trying to do was scare me and my children away because he was cleaning the toy section. I truly do believe he didn't want us there. I'm not sure if he was thinking that my daughters were going to make a mess, but that surely wasn't the case, as I was there to clean up after them. Might I add, the toy section at every single Kohl's is the exact same, always a huge mess and open toy boxes all over the place. So please don't try to act like my daughters' presence is in any way hindering your cleaning duties. After that, I honestly felt so disrespected. That same minute I decided to leave. He made my shopping experience, well, not so pleasant. I just felt like leaving and never coming back. But I decided to speak to a manager over the situation because he had absolutely no right to say the things he did. I spoke to the manager and he apologized, but besides that I didn't really see any action being taken. As a customer, I feel like I'm being walked on. The Dodgers are on the brink of going to the World Series and all of your Dodger merchandise is either up high or all bunched up together so it's hard to shop! AMAZING!! I visited this Kohl's Amazon drop off center to return couple of my Amazon returns today. With the additional 25% off offer printed on the return receipt, I was able to get a great deal on their jewelry, even better than Hill Street prices. Now the AMAZING part is what happened afterwards. One of my returns was a Nintendo Switch case. After three hours, I realized my 8 year old left a game inside the case, called Kohl's and explained the situation and asked if the box can be located. The lady who was on the phone was encouraging they would try to locate the box for us. As we walked in, Tanya and her associate (whom I couldn't get his name) greeted us with a smile and said she was the one that spoke to me over the phone and were waiting for us. I gave her a quick description of the box as well as I verified I was the original sender with my Amazon receipt. Within 10 minutes they located the box, brought it out and we were able to find our game. They were amazing and went far and beyond to make sure my kids got their game back. I enjoy shopping at Kohl's in Torrance more then the Redondo Beach store. It seems a bit more cozy and faster to check out. In Redondo Beach, they have a second floor which has returns but they also take purchases. It should be separated because there are a lot of dumb ass customers that take their sweet time returning merchandise. Besides, the same clearance items at the Torrance store are always marked down to a lower price. Good customer service at both locations. read more

Kohl's took over Mervyn's which took over May Company (remember that? lol). Anyway, this Kohl's is fairly small compared to the big one on Crenshaw and PCH in Torrance but overall it's a good size store. There are two floors and they stay stocked up. I like the new price machines because they are digital which makes it easy to read and match up to the merchandise. The store is always organized, even during the holidays. The best thing about Kohl's is KOHLS CASH!!! For every $50 spent you get $10 in store credit...that's pretty awesome. If I had to match up this department store against others I would say it's above Mervyn's but not a Nordstrom. Their prices are fair and they constantly have sales running. read more

I went to shop for shoes yesterday and I was impressed by the service and prices at this location. Right away a Kohl's employee approached me for assistance. She assisted me with several shoe sizes including the ones I couldn't find out on the shelves. She was very friendly and quick all while maintaining the area neat. I noticed she was the only associate there and yet she managed to assist others as well as myself. This mysterious looking big boxed department store with hardly any windows finally drew me in and now I am fan. First, I thought it was just another Macy's look alike store but once you go through the store, you can find a nice selection of clothing, accessories and just about anything you need for your life.
