This mall is usually dead but I came to this hot topic looking specifically for enamel pins they said they had at this location and online it said buy 2 get 1 free so I asked the lady at the register if she could honor the promotion in store and she said no. So I left and didn't purchase anything but then I came back a week later since I stopped by AMC to watch a movie and that lady wasn't there that day so I asked another employee if she could honor the promotion and she said yes no problem. I know hot topic is able to honor prices and promotions in store. Idk if she was in a bad mood or what but I always get price matches at the del amo location without a problem. I truly don't understand how people work in retail and hate people and just have an ugly attitude for no reason lol I don't even know you lady change your face. read more

Love shopping here and getting my online orders delivered here. My daughters are in here shopping every Sunday and already know all the employees by name. The employees are all friendly, and helpful. This is my preferred store to shop at compared to another local one available. Always shop there sales, never buy anything regular retail price, things can be pretty expensive. Always check prices online too, sometimes the sales can be better or worse than at the store. read more

This store does not care about collectors of items they sell, literally before opening the store a lot of customers requested items be limited to one per customer on their social platforms before showing up in person at the stores. Needles to say they deleted all those comments by the person managing their social networks. As they opened the store, by all the comments on the picture of the item that was promoted (Funko Pop Battle Deku) they literally sold the limited stock they had to one single person, knowing that the line that had formed outside the store was there for that same item, some waiting over an hour before the store opened. Long story short I did not show up to the store, as I figured they wouldn't care enough to limit a sought after collectible, I did however comment on their social media page that they were deleting comments previously left requesting them to limit purchases to 1 per person. Apparently that was enough bad mouthing they decided to block me and now I won't be notified of future releases at this location for bringing light to their store practices. Take your hard earn money to another location that actually welcomes customer input to better serve its community. read more

Great experience with this store location overall! Few days ago I had called several locations in search of a shirt that had become incredibly popular over these last few weeks and was impossible to find. I wasn't having any luck up until I called South Bay's location and the person on the phone, Jay, was super super kind and searched up the item for me to see if their store had any in stock ! Luckily enough they were able to find one in the exact size I was looking for a day later and even placed it on a temporary hold for me so that I can go pick up the same day. Though Jay wasn't there at the time of pick-up,, ( I wanted to personally thank 'em!!!) Nerisa was an incredibly lovely employee and was really great as well when ringing us up and allowed us to price match to the sale they had online. Overall, I have nothing but great and positive things to say about this store and will recommend them to everyone! Definitely amazing staff, went above and beyond for us and I really appreciate it. I used to know someone who was scared to go into Hot Topic cuz it was "scary". Chris D would testify that it's gone way soft with all their Hello Kittyfied sh*t. I LOVE IT! I can find a Sookie Merlottes T, a Skinny Puppy T, Bazinga lanyard and goth HK necklace all in the same place. They had a great Black Friday sale where all Ts were only $10!!! And there is not a Hot Topic at Del Amo Mall, like i assumed, so this is the closest one. And actually i prefer South Bay Galleria over Del Amo for Black Friday as i think it's less cragee. read more

This place is the next closest thing to Hello Kitty Heaven after the Sanrio store! I love all the Hello Kitty stuff that Hot Topic has to offer! They're all so cute and the prices are awesome! Great stuff and good deals! They have Hello Kitty attire, jewelry, plushes and more! They even have Hello Kitty costumes that can't be found elsewhere! Hot hello kitty stuff everywhere! Very small Hot Topic suffering from excess product and not enough space. This is a common problem for Hot Topic locations, but this particular store is pretty difficult to navigate. Decent selection of shoes (as in more than two pairs which seems to be the standard now), and a lot of band t-shirts. Less selection in terms of jewelry though. read more

This place offers great pop-culture merch, band shirts, a small selection of body jewelry, Vinyl Toys, Vinyl Records,CDs and random junk targeting fandoms (Bronies, Whovians, TMNT, Star Trek, Star Wars fans, etc.). They will sell anything that caters to current trends, but if you're looking for anything authentic, that isn't mass-produced, contrived, or pleather, you probably won't find it here. The service is generally pretty poor, but at least the staff are fun to look at. Overall interesting, but no substance. read more

This has to be by far one of the worst shopping experiences I've had. The "manager" or she describe herself as a manager was super unsettling to deal with. I went in looking to purchase a large bulk of items for our onset talent at a filming location nearby. But wow, what I ended up dealing with made me drop 8 wardrobes of products and walk away. How can you act sleepy at 11am when someone is asking you for help. Something has to be done to shape up management because it's odd that the regular staff are positive and upbeat but their team leaders are just so rude and defensive. Change of management is needed not the change of staff. Avoid this place if r the other location nearby(don't even get me started). The location farther north are worth the drive and my boss agrees with me. read more

This is Hot Topic, and they're pretty much all the same, so you know what you're getting yourself into. They all seem to have tiny stores that are stuffed to the brim with products including jewelry, pop culture merch, toys, music merch, etc. There wasn't really any problem when I came here a couple of times other than when I asked to try on one item in the dressing room the awkward associate told me I couldn't take my bag in there. No one's told me this since I was sixteen so it was kind of an annoyance and a shock, but whatever. I wanted to try on the tank top. When I came out of the dressing room, my bag wasn't even behind the counter. It was just right on top where anyone could snatch it. I mean, if you're going to make me give you my bag shouldn't you at least put it out of reach from customers? This is Hot Topic, so don't expect much. You've been to them before and this is the same as all the others. read more

Very friendly staff and always super helpful. They also have one of the best pop collections I've seen at a hot topic so if you're hunting down any cool exclusives or prefer buying them in person rather than online, making the trip to this location is worth it. I was waiting in line with a friend who was picking up a pre-order and the cashier was moving at a sloth pace. After 45 minutes, it was finally our turn to be rang out and she told me that because I am returning items that I have to wait in line again. What?? I've shopped at Hot Topic for quite some time now. Their prices for body jewelry are awesome. Every time i went to go by plugs, the deal was buy one get one half off. You figure you're already their and get another pair just incase you down sizeupgrade later in the future or if you just lose a pair. The staff is very friendly and are greatly underestimated due to their "swag" (look). Props to the hiring manager at Hot Topic, because whenever I shopped here I always had great customer service. On a side note, I wish I could give Hot Topic 5 stars, but I don't the new look for all Hot Topics. It's always good for change within the trends in todays youth, but I just don't dig it very much.
