I just came into this Kohl's to make an Amazon return. It was a bit busy when I walked in, and I didn't realize that this location had an upstairs, so I saw an employee downstairs and asked them where to make an Amazon return. They were friendly and helpful and told me exactly where to go, and told me that when they just came back down from upstairs, there was no line at the Amazon return "counter". I went up, made my return, and they actually apparently give you a 20% Kohl's coupon when you make Amazon returns there. Not sure if that happens every time or at every location, but it did in my case. The downside is that I don't visit Kohl's often, so it expired before I could use it :( womp womppppp I will say that the check out line was long when I came in and was actually longer when I left (it took me about 10 minutes to make the return as the employee was working through a couple of previous returns they had already accepted - just processing those). Either way, I mean I would probably go back if I was in the mood to shop at Kohl's, but this particular location felt a little cluttered and closed in to me for some reason. Kohl's has been our favorite place to shop ever since we came to the US. Quality, price and service. Was a bit sad that my visit today was not Kohl's related but an Amazon return. I haven't been to Kohl's for a few years now. There was no Thursday evening crowd and only a few shoppers. I loved the fact that it was a neat store and everything spic and span. I almost bought a Terps T shirt as it was at a great price. Kohl's is now both a pickup center and has a return counter exclusive for Amazon. I got a 15% Kohl's coupon as my Amazon returns visit. I don't usually do this but we went in to do some holiday shopping with my friends last night Thursday December 19th 2024 and was talked about through their walkie talkie. I heard (assuming manager) TEARRA say on the walkie talkie "3 individuals walked in keep an eye on them they might be thieves". Maybe their metal detectors aren't set correctly but when we walked in my friends bag rang so I get it the first assumption is that we stole from somewhere else and you're assuming there are stolen items in the bag, but when we walked out it didn't ring so it's an issue with the metal detector. And none of the associates said anything TEARRA just looked at us in disgust. I didn't think we would be racially profiled because as I'm walking with a cart through the store , associate ALPA comes up to me and asks "Do you have a kohls card?" I replied "We are not stealing" because she was obviously following us and watching us so she then says "I wasn't saying that I was asking if I had a kohls card" I said "No you guys are talking about us on the walkie talkies I heard your manager say to watch us" she then turns around and walks away. After that interaction my friend then tells me that one of the associates asked them if they had a kohls card. I've never heard of this tactic of asking a customer if they have a credit card out on the sales floor. Macy's does not do this unless you are checking out. I also did not hear any other associate ask anyone else that walked in I then walk to the men's section and leave my cart unattended for not even 30 seconds and it was not even 2 feet away from me when TEARRA comes and grabs it and posts it to the front so I follow her and tell her "I was using that cart" and she goes "I didn't know" yea and you didn't ask either. As my friend is checking out she tells me that when she was looking at the candy section that ANOTHER associate comes up to her and asked her "Would you like to check out" My friend hadn't even placed an item in her cart yet. Why would you ask someone with an empty cart if they would like to check out. If Tearra is the manager she's showing her associates that it's okay to be prejudice and bias that all young adults that are latinos are thieves. Truthfully, I went to Kohl's to return an Amazon product. They did a great job in packing the return and they even gave me a coupon for $5.00. Well, you just know when you have a coupon in your hand, you are going to start shopping. So, I looked around and settled on a package of socks. They were marked $18.00. With my $5.00 coupon, it came to fourteen dollars and change. But, later that day, when I was shopping in another convenience store, I saw the same socks for $7.00. : 0 Lesson learned, just because you have a coupon, doesn't mean you should buy something. Kohl's only had one register open on the whole first floor. They really need to hire some cashiers. I looked at some cute Christmas decorations. But, $129.00 for a small reindeer was way too much money. I am sure you can find some good merchandise, but in my humble opinion, it is way overpriced. I visited Kohls to return an Amazon package. The process is always smooth sailing. They provide a coupon to use in the store once you return a package. This day it was 20%. I chose to take advantage since they were already having an amazing sale. I found a few things I liked and went to check out. The line was a little long but the store was staffed well. I was helped in about 5 mins. Everything was going well until the cashier couldn't print my receipt. She called a manger over. Who decided it was best to void the transaction and have me purchase since my card had already been charged. The only problem is the cashier had already used the 20% coupon that provided $26 off. Instead of the manage getting another coupon, she decided that she was going to give me $20 in Kohl cash to use on another visit. I declined because I'm not a regular Kohls shopper. 11/3/21 This location is much bigger than my local store in Ellicott City which makes shopping here more fun because there is a larger selection. I came to the store to return three bras today that didn't fit well after I wore one of them for a day. The tags had been removed and thrown out, but they didn't need it. Other retailers have strict rules about intimate apparel being unworn and having tags on them if they are returned. I definitely plan to purchase future undergarments from Kohl's. I love Kohl's flexible return policy. Years past, you could return merchandise except for electronics and Sephora items with no time limit. Now it's 180 days which is still very generous. One other change that they recently implemented which I am not a fan of is that you have to use your Kohl's cash now within 30 days which can be an inconvenience. They are issued on the first of every month. Previously, I believe you could use your Kohl's cash whenever you wanted to redeem them. My Kohl's cash have recently gone unspent because I'm not going to go just to redeem $5 or $10. It's smart on their part because making customers redeem them on a monthly basis means they are likely to spend money, therefore, generating more revenue for Kohl's. One convenience they offer is Amazon returns. By doing so, they are hoping customers will want to do some shopping. I vaguely recall your Amazon return receipt comes with a 15% Kohl's coupon. That's an incentive for Kohl's to partner with Amazon. Despite these changes in the return policy and Kohl's Cash, it's still a fun place to shop and one of my favorite retailers. read more

This store is very conveniently located. It used to be my favorite go-to store until Sephora department was added. Some personnel there is quite needy and it is not possible to browse products without being closely watched as if I am trying to steal anything. I tried to communicate that I do not need help at this point and the lady agreed but since I was the only customer, she chose to stand and watch my every move ready to make her comments. It is not possible to relax under such intense attention and therefore I had to leave the store. This happened more than once. I do have to say it was ingenious for Kohl's to sign a deal with Amazon to host their drop off location there in store. If you go to the top floor ( via escalator) you'll find a little Amazon Drop off stand there. It makes me a lot more likely to A) Buy things from Amazing knowing that I can return them easily and B) Buy things from Kohls as I go into the store now. The great thing about the Amazon drop off is that you don't really have to package the Amazon goods. They'll just take whatever it is in its original packaging (no amazon box needed), it doesn't cost anything to return it here, and it's a pretty quick transaction. You just need to make sure you have a QR code for the Amazon return pulled up on your phone. There were a few things that bugged me about my trip to Kohls though: 1. First and foremost being that the dressing rooms are closed. I know it's Covid and all... but what really is the risk of using the dressing room? Is it that the dressing rooms aren't social distanced. Well... close every other dressing room door off to put at least 6 feet of distance between people. Is it that you would get germs on the clothes from trying them on? Well, that doesn't make sense as they still allow you to take them home and bring them back if they don't work. I just think if your main business is clothes ( which it seems Kohls is), they could find SOME way to make this work. 2. Second being that Amazon gives you a coupon to go shop at Kohls after you make your return. Which is the onus on which I went to go clothes shopping after I made my return. So I picked out a couple of athletic shirts... and a pair of addidas pants. I get to the register and she tells me that the coupon isn't good on these items. I had come before, and looked at that coupon once it was given to me. I know it wasn't good on bigger things like Kitchen Aid stand mixers... Keurig machines... or other things you'd expect it not to be good for. But on a nike shirt, an adidas shirt, and some adidas pants. I asked the Cashier what the coupon was even good for? She was like... off brands like Sonoma. *Rolls eyes* 3. The selection of Athletic wear seemed a bit sparse as well. I don't know... I was just surprised that I looked all around the Adidas, Nike, and Under Armour sections and only found three things. I will give them that their parking is fantastic. More than enough parking outside the building. 11/21/21 Its amazing who you might see when walking into this Kohl's Department Store I saw two people that I pinpointed as former associates of mine. I saw one other person who I believe to be another associate I knew. Twelve years since I worked here and my former colleagues have gotten older. This place still has the peaceful easy feeling I had when I first set foot in this establishment. It is way the woman I met at the Jeweler counter still works here. She happened to be someone I trained. She told me "I trained her well." My wife bought a pair of the Disney earrings blue cubic zirconia. I wanted to get her the matching necklace for it, but they did not have it. Nevertheless, it was good catching up with a former colleague. On my way out, I saw some fleece pajamas sets that I thought about buying. My wife claimed my fleece night wear for her own. I might upgrade and go with black and red, unless I can find black and purple fleece pajamas set for men. No...I haven't looked it up yet because I am imagining my perfect set. This location isn't too bad, parking layout sucks. They have a nicer selection of stuff here than Germantown, employees are nice and not uptight. They really do their best to keep this store clean and organized. I come here for shoes or to update my home decor. What I love about Kohls is that you can return your Amazon packages hassle free!! Look for the orange kiosk. I came here twice and it was the same girl, who wasnt Miss Friendly, more like why you here. Im sorry that you had to get off your phone to do your job! I had some questions, because Im not return some $5 item back. I wanted to be sure that it will be returned properly and get my money credited. However, this process is very convenient, save your paper, save your ink and just show them the code on your phone. You dont even have to pack it, Just bring it back into its packaging (not Amazon boxes, as they will put it in one big Amazon container. After your scanned you will get a slip acknowledging your return along with some Kohls coupon. To me this is the most effiecient way to get your account credited fast. Within 2 hours I get my accounted credit. Customer service is ok, I havent returned anything here yet, but my friend and they were nice. I had no idea this Kohl's had two levels to it until my friend came back from using the bathroom. Home stuff is upstairs. It felt like being in a Macy's. One of the greatest things about Kohl's is their amazing sales. They often have limited deals, for example this past Veterans Day they had a deal you could access online (but I think they had cards in the store) where you got $10 off a $25 purchase. Plus if you have a Kohl's charge card you can get an added discount of 15-30% off most purchases. (There are many restricted brand items.) I love their exclusive brands such as Tek Gear, Sonoma, and Vera Wang. If something is not on sale, wait... it will be. Trust me. I bought a Vera Wang top that was 25% off last week($33), and this week it was $29 minus my 30% discount. They have great seasonal items. I didn't find the bakeware section as expansive as the Kohl's in Silver Spring. The associates are helpful here, especially the ones in the fine jewelry section. I'm so disappointed in this store. you used to get the discount if you applied for a card with them, it's 35%, so it's a big deal. Now they say only if you're approved. so you're going to dent my credit with your inquiry, and I'm screwed . It's always been that you get the percentage discount no matter what period. the cashier barely spoke English and I asked her to take a couple of items off of my bag, mind you I was spending the 300s, she said that she voided it off of my bill and I told her she didn't because I watched her. When I proceeded to tell him everything I had been through in the past 30 minutes at one register the first thing he said to me was what is it you would like for me to do??? I told him that I wasn't happy about the fact that I wasn't going to get my discount and felt that he should at least compensate me in some former fashion that I've been standing there for half an hour somebody barely spoke English tried to bill me for something that wasn't in my bag, wanted to send me home with on half my clothes, and that's what I got. Yikes, my last review of this place left a lot to be desired... Kohl's has improved quite a lot since my last visit and actually sell so much more here than just clothes. For example, they have an extensive jewelry section and even some knick knacks like Wet brand hairbrushes in various sizes. I like that it is pretty early to earn and use Kohl's cash, despite the fact that it can expire within days of getting the promotion (so be sure not to let yours expire). One of my favorites to redeem with the Kohl's cash is boxes of Godiva chocolates to give as gifts :) Just remember, if you use the Kohl's cash earned from a purchase, but return part of that purchase, you will lose the applicable part of your refund as well. Ex: Earned $10 of Kohl's cash with purchase. Returned one pair of shoes worth $14 and refund was $4 since the Kohl's cash was used toward another purchase. I went here sometime last week and got a 1.5" gel memory foam mattress topper for less than $50. The brand was "The Big One" and the size I got was Queen. I haven't had a chance to sleep on it but if it's good enough for my parents, it's good enough for me. I have felt it though, at the store. It was so soft and sponge-like. The mattress topper slowly bounced back after I applied pressure on it with my hands. I think this store is the nearest to the highway. The parking lot by the entrance/exit is spacious enough but provides no protection from the rain or sun. I felt slightly claustrophobic inside with all the merchandise lying around. Some of the aisles between the mattress toppers and pillows, etc. felt a bit too narrow, and the escalators felt even narrower. The cash registers area seemed a bit disorderly. A complete waste of time. Walked in for an interview 30 mins before a scheduled interview (Admin Assistant req# : r19341) after traveling 20 miles for an interview that had been filled two weeks ago. Never received a call from a manager to notify/ inform me of this. The present hiring manager completely blamed the error on corporate and stated they have no control over it. I asked a working associate if they call provide me with HR corporate office telephone number they had no clue of how to provide with corporate office information. Me and my two friends went into the store, we went to the Sephora section because we were trying to get a new cologne. For I'm a young black gentleman my other friend was a white young gentleman and my second friend was a Hispanic gentleman. We were using the cologne samples like they were meant to be used spraying them on the little paper tester and we were not making a mess or a ruckus. This black employee lady was helping us and she was extremely courteous and tried to help us. We were looking at the cons for about 20 minutes till this chunky Mexican lady came over to us and was on pure BS. She said we had to leave and we didn't make a fuss We just left. Then started trailing us around the whole Kohl's and we got to the under-armor section and this chunky really hard to look at person came to us and said do we need any help. We said " yes and told him exactly what we wanted to find," hey we were already looking at the section where it was and he said no we're sold out like an absolute doofus. He then proceeded to say we need to leave and that if we don't leave right now he's going to call the cops then said you know what and the cops are on their way but we knew the cops aren't going to come cuz this guy seems like a sissy who calls them everyday. This Kohl's in the RIO Washingtonian shopping center is bigger than other locations in the area (looking at you, Aspen Hill) and therefore has a better selection. Combine that with easy parking and the ever-present discounts and this will now be my store of choice! On my last visit I made a return. Waited in line at the customer service desk for about 10 min but they had 3 people working returns and there was a manager trying to speed things along. Appreciated that. My opinion of Kohl's has plummeted after my recent experience here. I exchanged two decorative pillows for two of the same style of pillows but in a different color. Thus, this was an exactly price-matched exchange. It turns out that the color of the new pillows (from exchange) didn't look right either, so I decided to return them. Although I didn't have a receipt from the original purchase, I did have my Visa card transaction showing the Kohl's purchase of two pillows for ~$61. So I expected to get ~$61 refunded, right? Wrong! I was told that, because this was an exchange of the original purchase, I could: 1) only get store credit, and 2) the store credit would be in the amount of $33. What!?!? Why? Apparently "because that's Kohl's policy." Well, that policy makes no sense! I didn't want to hold up the return line any longer, so I left. I then tried to resolve the issue using Kohl's online live chat, but I was told that transactions couldn't be looked up from their system, so I should call customer service. I then called customer service only to be told that in-store purchases could not be looked up -- I need to return to the store to get this resolved. Summary: all mechanisms of customer service were completely unhelpful and simply took me back to where I started. And why would I return to the store again just to waste my time and be told what I was already told before? No thanks. If only those 25 minutes of my life spent talking with customer service could be credited back to me along with the $28! Kohl's says that their returns and exchanges are "hassle free." This review is about a return from an online order. I ordered 7 items, $50 with a gift card $30 with a credit card. They came in 3 shipments. I returned 3 items. One item went all back on my cc, the other 2 only partly. I was forced to accept only $12 back on my credit card and $32 back in merchandise credit. After the sales associate and manager didn't think this made sense they called the "help desk". The help desk advised that a % goes back to the cc and % goes back to merchandise credit. FALSE, if that were the case then why did item#1 go all the way back on my credit card. This Kohls is in a good location if you are shopping at other places as well. Lots of free parking as well! As with all Kohls almost every day stuff is on sale. Just take it to the little scan machine and see the savings. The store was in relative condition seeing as it was a weekend and MD no sales tax week. It gets 3 stars because there was no one near the fitting rooms, the fitting rooms were very dusty, I left my shoes on, there we're employees walking around without a clue to what they were doing and employees talking about how much they didn't want to be there. Thank you Kohl's Social Media T. It has been a week since my original post and I STILL HAVE THIS ORDER SITTING IN MY HOME! Again people, Kohl's may get you with their 30% off coupons or Kohl's cash but is it really worth this kind of service? I was told that "a rush" was put in to pick up my order.
