"Better than new"…read more I had a fantastic experience with Luggage & Leather Depot on the good ol' Hamden Road. I was dashing out to a meeting a week or so ago. Grabbed the trusty messenger bag con laptop, and bang! - strap broke, and everything spilled onto the floor. I collected everything, checked to see what had happened, and proceeded to be late to my meeting. When I arrived back home, the first thing I did was try to locate a leather repair shop, and the depot was at the top of the list, and less than a mile from me. I called, and the gent said that they would likely be able to fix it, so I took a walk over, and dropped off the bag. In less than 3 days, Mr. Kim called to inform me that he'd completed the repair. Again, I walked over to retrieve my Mark & Graham bag for a grand total of $38. Not only did I just save a few hundred dollars by not having to buy a new bag, but the repair was as advertised - "better than new" - with new leather, and an added metal bar for strength. I can't recommend this business highly enough. I'm looking forward to my next interaction - think I'll buy something new there next time. See you in town!

Popped stitches. It was definitely in need of repair. Mr. Kim was able to get the repairs done in a little over a week and the repair work was so seamless that I could barely tell what had been fixed. The only telltale sign is that he added a new, stronger zipper to replace the broken one which actually made it much easier for me to open and close the interior compartment. The $45 I spent in repairs was a worthwhile investment to ensure I would have many more years of adventures to come with my fabulous ruby red suitcase!

I dropped of my shoes two weeks bf Christmas. TWO WEEKS.Owner said ( as he gave me my repair…read moreticket) completed by Dec 27th! Cool! I called January 10 to say I would pick up by the 24th.... Then SNOWMAGEDON happened! Mind you... I took my repair to this particular shop from a personal friends' review.... So today ( Feb 2,2026) I drove down to pick up my shoes..... The owner looked at me with confusion as I handed him my repair ticket. I described my shoes to a T...5 inch stilettos with a wide crisscross strap. Still confused face. I literally watched this man walk over to a pile of shoes and rummage through pairs and pairs of shoes to eventually find mine on the bottom of the pile.... Dusty and half stripped . So I knew work had started on them bc I did not drop them off in the condition I took them back in. I inquired as to why they were not finished and he said " it's been busy, then snow". I also asked why he did not tell me he had not finished them when I called ( and I gave him the tix number on the 10th of January). He shrugged his shoulders. At this point.... ZERO APOLOGY! ZERO offer to complete the repair at a 25% discount.... I did not ask him for one. He said... and I quote..." you said take your time".... In my mind and most other customers minds.... Take your time means in a reasonable time..... HE gave me the date of completion for Dec 27.... Again.... Shoulder shrugs! How does someone run a business like this? Lack of respect for my shoes ( found on the floor) lack of honoring the delivery date with ZERO APOLOGIES. Then have the audacity to place blame on THE CUSTOMER for not having the repair FINISHED because I stated take your time! SOMEONE MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE TO ME!!!! I called my friend who highly recommended MASTER REPAIR SHOP in Rockville Maryland to me and let him know how my repair project was treated. He was beyond shocked. Many apologies from my friend but not ONE from the OWNER! Please avoid this shit hole ( physically a nasty mess... where my shoes were found on the floor) AT ALL COSTS!!! The owner is CLUELESS on how to provide great customer service. It was HEINOUS AND DEPLORABLE AT BEST! With the damage done to my shoes ( because he started my project) the price to fix them at another shop up the road was 50 dollars MORE... at $150.00! That's double the cost of the shoes when I bought them. When the owner said he would fix them in the next MONTH ( I have a late Winter wedding to attend and wanted to wear the shoes in question) I nearly lost my mind! I stared at him with such disappointment .... He then said... and I quote..." You didn't pay YET, so here" and held out my shoes to take. I took them and as I left I told him what I thought of his shitty customer service in Italian, Spanish and English! I'm sure he understood ONE of the three languages I speak! Master Repair Shop in Rockville, Md is a horrible place to have your shoes repaired. The customer service is beyond repair itself and I will NEVER EVER allow this shop to work on any of my shoes if I'm in need of repairs. It should NOT TAKE over 7 weeks to repair something this simple as my repair needs..... in his words! A complete disaster and I give Master Repair Shop in Rockville, Md a negative 10.... -10 !!!! Zero stars!!!! Had to put one star rating other wise it would not allow me to post! But still.... ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! A total shit hole! Kathryn L

That stop is run by Noah who is very nice and super knowledgeable about his craft and has been in the service for 10 plus years. I couldn't go to him this time because of circumstances so I decided to try this cobbler in Westfield Montgomery Mall that I will be writing about. Below is my experience and review and it is VERY lengthy: I brought in shoes that I bought from the thrift store to be repaired. The soles of the derby's were coming apart so I just needed them to be glued back to the midsole. Somewhat easy fix. I go to this cobbler on a Friday and inquire about the service. The man who runs the shop tells me it is about $65 to repair, which I would say is reasonable. I ask him how long it would take him to fix and he tells me, "about a week." The man gives me a ticket and says to bring it back when I pick them up and that I would get "a text message" from him when the shoes are finished, as he asks for your phone number. This is where the problem arises. A week passes by and I even wait an extra day, so it is now Saturday of the next week. I receive no text so I decide to call the shop and inquire about the shoes. The man picks up and I ask about the shoes and I give him the ticket number, he goes to check. He comes back to the phone and says, "I'm still working on your shoes" and has the AUDACITY to say "don't call the shop unless you get a text." What? There is no point in having a phone if you're just going to answer and say that when people are inquiring about their stuff. There are previous reviews where the same situation is mentioned. So I ask him about how long until they are ready, he says "probably Monday and Tuesday." So a service that was first said to only take a week now needs another 4 days, which is I think in my opinion, unprofessional. I wait the extra couple days, and it is now Thursday, an extra TWO DAYS later after he said he would be finished and I STILL have no text message. I decide to call the shop AGAIN and this time he surprisingly says "yes it is ready, I just need to clean them up." At this point I rush over to the shop to pick up the shoes because I no longer want to deal with this shop. When I go to pick them up, I see one of my shoes in his hand and I tell him that those are mine, he says "oh I am just finishing up, sorry I was busy this morning" that's not really an excuse when the service was literally extended by 6 days. The shoes themselves are okay but like another prior review had said, the hassle alone is not worth the service. Would not recommend.

Seleh completed a…read morecomplicated alteration that involved removing mesh covering most of the top half of the dress. Before undertaking the work, Seleh ran through some of the considerations, including the fact that the mesh provided structural support that he would need to compensate for around the straps. He finished the dress on time and the removed mesh looked flawless. He completed a second round of alterations after my first fitting. Then, a week or two after I took the dress home (and nine days before my wedding), I panicked about the fit of the bodice and the straps and left a slightly frantic voicemail for Seleh. To his immense credit, he called me back in ten minutes to calmly and gently ask me what was wrong and how he could fix it. He didn't make me feel crazy or unreasonable and made a quick appointment for me a couple of days later. He turned around this last round of alterations in a couple days -- a complex addition of fabric under the dress straps to reduce itchiness and some alterations to the bodice -- and the dress was perfect after that. His work on the straps was particularly impressive because the added fabric was completely invisible despite the fact that the straps were irregularly shaped, ornate, and lace. All in all, Seleh gets top marks for skill, timeliness, and emotional sensitivity (all a must when altering wedding dresses). Thank you again, Seleh!
