Nowadays streetwear trends have shifted, blurring the line between casual fashion and high fashion. Kings to me is what pure streetwear is all about at its core. No bots, no asinine reseller mark-ups, no insane pricetags, no bullshit. Just tried and true streetwear styles from iconic streetwear brands that have withstood the test of time. I'm thankful Kings and others like it still exist (Proper, BAIT, Bowls LA and Union are both kind of). I say kind of because Bowls opens whenever they want and Union definitely has a certain audience in mind with the brands they carry. Anyway, maybe I'm looking back at the history of streetwear with rose-tinted glasses, but there's no denying that the fact that a place like Kings can still thrive despite the fact that a lot of boutiques I used to frequent have either shifted to online exclusively or just shuttered their doors permanently is respectable. After a few disappointing trips and consultations with other popular suit designers (who shall not be named), someone recommended we check out Grooms Grotto. My (now) wife and I cannot say enough about how amazing the process was with the Grooms Grotto team from start to finish. The task of building a unique look from scratch was definitely daunting because I wasn't sure how it would all come together, but I was able to choose every single aspect of my look down to the stitching and the buttons. The materials were high quality and the options were endless. A HUGE shoutout to Daiijah who helped us choose every single detail with intention! She made recommendations about what fabrics would work best together and be comfortable for our destination wedding in Cancun.
