I came on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't busy at all. I was able to find some good pairs of jeans. I wished they had more in my size since I had to really dig around. The fitting room was kind of in a random area, I think it would have been better if it was in the men's area against the far right side wall. When you shop at any Kohl's store, in order to avoid poor value/$, you need to have the 30% off coupon that sometimes come in the mail. When we get it, and it only says 15 or 20%, we toss it in the garbage and wait to shop there until we get the 30% off coupon. Otherwise, you are generally overpaying for your purchases. They have a nice selection, the stores are pretty clean. I recently ordered something online that had free store pickup, and that option worked out well for me. No shipping charge. read more

I just went to the Bolingbrook Kohl's to pick up an item I ordered online. I drove 15 minutes and got there before 7 which was their closing time. I checked in, popped my trunk, waited for almost 20 minutes and no one came out I'm extremely upset with their customer service. They're crap and if they closed early because of the looting that's going on they could have at least been professional and posted something on their website, sent an email or something. There's so much technology for Kohl's to communicate with their customers on all levels, there's absolutely no excuse for what just happened to me! I guess you need not go to Kohl's in Bolingbrook. Why??? Well because there aren't any sales floor personnel there to assist you! I looked for a warm body from the back of the store to the front without success. If they don't hire enough people to help customers select merchandise and look for merchandise not on the shelves why go there? There are plenty of employees at the registers to take your money but only 2 in Customer Service with a line of 7 customers waiting. I guess I could have searched on the floor for what I was looking for in linens but I was too cautious stepping over merchandise while attempting to search the shelves. Semi-expensive items unless you have Kohl's cash or coupons. There's usually a sale (40%-75% off), and sometimes the sizes are limited. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO HELP FROM ASSOCIATES!!! I went here with my mother (who has been diagnosed with emphysema and fibromyalgia) and they don't have power wheelchairs or even wheelchair friendly aisles. She banged up elbows up badly! She wanted to purchase pots and pans (not a cheap item) and NO ONE would help her! I had to run around the store looking for someone, and there was NO ONE!!! I had someone at the cashier desk call for help in the houseware section. No one showed up (20 minutes later). I went back to the cashier and had her call the manager. The manager informed me that the phone in housewares was broken and that's why the associate didn't help us out. So the phone was broken, and that's why we couldn't get help? LAME!!! Go to JC Penny's, Marshall's, Target, Meijer, or even WalMart for deals - Kohl's needs to seriously IMPROVE before we go back. Fail. read more

Ah-ok!? Kohl's has some nice things but try to find someone in the store to help and not go all the way back up to the registers! They have great sales! They often send $10 off $10 coupons! Price wise, you can almost never go wrong with Kohl's. For some reason, I seem to constantly forget about this close to home location. When I was in search of a new pair of athletic shoes, I'm glad this place finally came to mind. This Kohl's is not much different in merchandise variety and store layout that any other Kohl's store. I love their selection of costume jewelry, but their plus-size women's department is very dated and limited. I love their shoe selection, though. It was well organized, with styles and prices clearly marked. I was able to find plenty of athletic shoe options in my size. I walked away with a pair of New Balance for about $65, which was nearly $30 less than I would have paid at Foot Locker. Checkout was quick, with multiple open registers, even on a weekday afternoon. The cashier offered discounts with the opening of a credit account, but politely dropped the issue after me only having to say I'm not interested only once. One of my biggest retail peeves is the "Great Credit Card Push" tactic, and I was glad I didn't have to fight this time around. I hear they remodeled this location about a week or so after my visit, so I will make note of it to stop in and check it out. read more

I went to this store a few days ago and bought about $95.00 worth of clothing for a wedding. Upon walking up to the checkout counter I approached 2 cashiers that were in the middle of a conversation about how another employee maybe stealing money from the drawer. I was rung up, without even a hello, thank you, or word of acknowledgment from this lady. The 2 lady's just kept on cackling throughout the entire transaction. This store and employees are another example of why customer service stinks in this country. The way I see it, if you don't get a hello and thank you, you take your business to Kohl's twin brother: JC Penny. read more

Price is usually decent. Most of the time the store is kept nice and neat. There is a great selection of clothes in all sizes. The coupons and kohl's cash you can use usually adds up to a great deal. The return policy is great. One gripe for this place: I don't like trying on clothes in the dark. Whoever thought to build the dressing rooms with a hallway motion sensor light was not thinking clearly. It takes longer than 3 minutes to try on a variety of clothes. I shouldn't have to step into the hallway half-naked to try and get the light to turn back on. read more

Went to exchange a $299 watch that I didn't notice had scratches on the side. It was a gift for my husband, and I only had the gift receipt with me at the time. Boy did I mess up by not looking for the original receipt and taking it to the store. The sales rep, Karen, was obviously very suspicious of my exchange. She said that the watch that I was exchanging and the one they had at the store had different markings on the dial (the lines that mark the numbers were slightly different). So she called for backup, stepped to the side and spoke about it at length. I asked to see the two watches in order to understand what the big deal was. That is when she told me that she wants to make sure it's the correct watch and that the watch was not switch prior to making the return. REALLY KAREN?! YOU TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT?! Even if you're thinking it, why in the world would you verbalize it and make a customer feel like they're doing something wrong? I felt embarrassed. I felt judged. I felt that they thought that I was trying to cheat them out of a more expensive watch. And to add salt to injury, Karen is white and I'm black, so it definitely made me feel that my race was an issue. Especially when I tried to explain to her that I'm the one who purchased the watch a week ago and she thought my tone was aggressive. Of course it's aggressive dummy, you insinuated that I'm trying to "steal" from the store and never even apologized. The epic moment was when I approached her again to double check the price of the watch she gave me (God forbid that THEY end up cheating me and giving me a watch that's worth less than $299), at that moment I explained just how bad she made me feel and even if it's policy to check, that's all she had to say. Should've never said that she thought I changed the watch. She finally apologized and i told her, "I hope you never treat a black customer like that again. " Her response, "I have a lot of black friends that I get along with. " Really Karen?! She just doesn't have a clue. In need of some cultural sensitivity and customer service training. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Waited on online order pickup for 3 hours, went in to 4 employees sitting on counter and on their phones at pickups while I'm still waiting on order. Fulfilled it myself but because I didn't purchase it online it was an additional $27 and "we don't price match anyone"... I love corporate is getting ready for the future when they close this store and everything becomes only online! The future is bright without stores like this that don't help people. read more

Been going to this Kohl's for years. Haven't had many issues here. I always can find things easily. Great selection with clothes and whatnot. Recently had a poor experience with a cashier, a guy in his twenties. Didn't seem to know what he was doing or how to do certain tasks. If he was new that can be understandable, but if he has been there for a while something is not right. I had to come back since he forgot to remove a security tag. I'm giving this three stars because every other time I've been here throughout my lifetime have been great! I love Kohl's! read more

I wanted the 30% off when I used my Kohl's charge... never have had a problem at that store... but Sue made it a problem.. had to call her manager... rolled her eyes.. extremely rude! I stopped by this Kohl's location on Jan 25, and it was the absolute worst customer service experience in my entire life. I had come to return some clothing that I had bought from them the previous week (firstly, they should not be selling stained clothes to customers). After I returned the defective merchandise, I went to go get some other clothes. When I was ready for checkout, I went the cash registers by the misses section. There was conveniently no one there. So, I walked all the way across the store to get to the other cash registers. A lady comes up and asks if I'm ready for checkout. I said yes. She starts to ring me up, and I tell her I have a Kohl's account and that I would like to give her my phone number so she can pull me up. She said that I need to show a driver's license. I explained that the last time I was there, I didn't show a driver's license but just gave my phone number. She insisted on a driver's license, so I kindly asked for her manager. Her manager comes over; after I speak with her, the manager explains to the cashier that I have the Yes2YouRewards program. The manager told her to pull me up via phone number, and then she left. I had my phone out that had a previous coupon I had used (I was just pulling it out to show her the email with the banner for the rewards program- the coupon itself had been used). I was explaining to the cashier that to the regular customer who has the rewards program with them, they would sometimes just refer to it as a "Kohl's Account." And that customers don't necessarily know the different technical terms. (I was able to simply give my phone number when I offered it the last week, and the cashier had absolutely no problem with it, so I'm not sure why it was so incredibly difficult for this specific cashier) Apparently, she thought I was referring to the actual credit card. I explained that I don't want a credit card, and that I just want to give my phone number. She reaches over the counter and tries to scan my phone and starts giving me attitude. The tone was very rude and patronizing as she "offers an apology." I felt very disrespected. And I never asked for her to scan my phone; I had offered my phone number, but she just wouldn't take it! Even her manager had told her earlier to pull me up via phone number. Why can't she just do as she's told? I tell her, "Don't patronize me." She was caught off guard, and got a bit flustered. I ask for her to call her manager. She refuses; she then proceeds to completely ignore me and move on to the next customer. I'm standing there with my merchandise and wallet ready to checkout, yet the cashier refuses to offer me any service. I try to get her attention, and I say, "Young lady!" She ignores me, and still continues to help the next customer. I ask for her name, and she refuses to give me her name. I then ask for a manager; she turns to me, points a finger at her manager who had returned to the "returns" cashier area, and she says, "No, YOU need to go find a manager." I call over for a manager who was a little ways away (so my voice was a bit loud, especially since I was quite upset in being treated worst than garbage). I say, "Can I have a manager over here!? This is unacceptable behavior!" Then manager comes over saying, "Well, neither is yeling!" hmm, I wonder why my voice is elevated? Maybe because of the absolute atrocious customer service I received...and for being completely ignored by your cashier... The story gets worse. The manager comes over, walks me over to her cashier by the returns, and she starts to ring me up. I explain the situation, and she does not seem to care in the least bit that her cashier was rude, disrespectful, and patronizing. She does not care that her cashier completely ignored me when I was trying to checkout and give Kohl's my money (which goes to her paycheck!) I asked for an apology. The manager says, "Well, she's not going to apologize!" The manager then offered a half-hearted apology to me. I explained to the manager that I personally work in customer service, and that it is absolutely unacceptable for an employee to treat customers like that. She really seemed quite apathetic altogether. The cashier refused to give me her name, so I will give a brief description of what she looked like. Please note, that none of these comments are meant to be racist. I myself am a minority. I am only trying to explain her physical description, so that if she offers to ring you up, you can stay FAARRR away. She was an young Indian lady, probably about 5' 3'. She had black hair, and she wore the traditional bindi on her forehead. This was a horrible experience. Is this how Kohl's treats their customers who have shown more than a DECADE of loyalty and patronage? Unacceptable and utterly disappointing. Kohl's has great clothes (as long as it doesn't have stains...) but the customer service is atrocious. read more

I love Kohls and often shop at multiple locations. Typically I have a good experience, but I never have at the Bolingbrook location. Over the course of the last year, I have shopped at this location about a dozen times. Every time I have been in this store, it is a disaster and they claim to not have enough people working. I have worked in retail and customer service, so I completely understand that happening...but it hasn't improved at all in a year's time. My most recent visit, the women's dressing room was a complete mess, the women's and men's clothing departments barely ever have the right size clothing on the hanger that's labeled with the size, and I feel like the ladies at the check out line are super stressed because they have no help/support, therefore are not providing great service to their customers. I recommend hiring additional staff to organize/clean the store as well as more cashiers. I won't be returning to this location. read more

A few times I came it was OK service. One time I cam and it was REALLY GOOD service. The last time I went, it was TERRIBLE service from the blondish brown haired lady from the jewelry counter. I waited and waited and waited and she never gave me eye contact. Then another person just came up to ask a question and she answered they're question.
