This Eddie Bauer is closed, too. This was a good store location. Smaller, but still good. It's a shame they're all gone.

It's been a long time since I've purchased an Eddie Bauer down coat. I've had my Ridgeline parka, an Expedition Parka that can only be used when it's sub zero (not kidding!) and a B9 parka that is a faithful reproduction of a WWII USAAF parka, all for longer than I'd care to remember. When I received an email that there was a 50% off sale, I decided to visit the Naperville store to check out the new winter coats. The store was well organized and a good variety of sizes and styles. We were promptly greeted by associate #956617 (sorry didn't catch her name, but her number was on the receipt) who was very helpful. The Superior Parka caught my eye in a Bronze color. Unfortunately there wasn't one on the floor in that color. Luckily secret agent #956617 scoured the back room and found one in my size and color tucked away. My latest addition to parka collection is in the closet awaiting cold weather to be put to use. It's actually quite amazing how my Eddie Bauer coats have held up over the years, as none look any worse for wear and tear. I find it an incredible value to have jackets literally lasting for decades and a testament to their quality. I'll be donating a few jackets to charity with confidence they will keep the new owners warm and serve them well. read more

Was there today to return a jacket. The female employee who took care of me was rude and acted annoyed even though my transaction took about 1 minute. I asked her if all the down jackets were on sale and she said "I don't know, I think so." Then I asked her if I could try on a jacket, and she ignored me and started to talk to a co-worker. So I tried it on and liked it. Was going to buy it, but she was so rude I decided to just leave. Please train your employees to be more friendly and helpful. read more

I had never set foot in an Eddie Bauer, but a friend touted the quality of their tshirts so I had to check it out. Little did I know that beyond the parkas and hiking wear can be found embroidered shirts and maxi dresses! I ended up with the latter (though no tshirts, which were all of the "heathered" variety). Selection of "regular" clothes (i.e. not outdoor wear) is modest but there were some interesting options. Staff were very friendly and checked on me often as I plowed through a pile of try-ons in the dressing room. Fun fact: dogs are allowed in the store and staff even have treats for them. They do sell some dog paraphernalia here. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this Eddie Bauer location and would stop in again when shopping in downtown Naperville. read more

Wow is a understatement. I've been here multiple times and each time had a great experience. This time I had the opportunity to have the manager as our assistant and she did a exceptional job. Her attitude was full of energy and she took the time to understand our needs and recommended a product based on that. She was super super friendly and patient. I didn't know she was the manager until the end when I asked for a manager so i can compliment her. She stated she was the manager. Her name is Margarita and i would highly recommend her and this location because of our experience. Margarita thank you for the help, you were amazing! Only if every retailer had one of you! We visited the Naperville Illinois store and instead of receiving kindness and help, we had to consistently seek out the store clerk. She'd answer a question and then immediately walk away. After going through that many times, we decided to buy one vs. two coats. We'd prefer actual customer service! Then when going to pay for the coat, the person ahead of us in line had a very lengthy situation to deal with & the other clerk was taking care of that person. Our clerk just stood there while we waited and waited. Finally, we asked for her to ring up our item. She acted annoyed by that. After paying for it, no "thank you" or any sort of appreciation for our expensive purchase was given. As my friend told me, and he's extremely patient and oblivious to rudeness, told me "she was mean". The name on our receipt shows 'Gretchen' as the clerk but she never told us her name. read more

Poor customer service in busy and free times. They answer your question but with a lack of patience and friendliness. Usually at an outdoors brand store, one would encounter a more outgoing vibe. But for here, that is not the case. L.L. Bean, on the hand, has amazing customer service, timeless style, and quality. read more

Dear Eddie Bauer Employees, Thank you for not laughing out loud when my boyfriend deposited me in your entry way, with strict instructions to not buy anything while he got the car. You may have heard me yell, somewhat drunkenly, "OH MY GOD IT IS SO COLD" as I was attempting to run to the car. For, it was cold, and while my skirt and nylons, while totally sexy and cute, were not appropriate for 10 degree wind chills. I did spy a totally cute cabled hoodie. I do love Eddie Bauer colors. I bet if I had that hoodie on instead of my super cute cashmere Ann Taylor v-neck, I wouldn't have almost died of hypothermia. If I could this review zero stars I would. From the time I walked into the Naperville store the sale associate was rude. I was trying to exchange an item that was defective because my item has a lifetime warranty I had just got it in October. She clearly doesn't know the policies because she told me NO there's no more lifetime it changed this morning. And to top it off she put down the company that she works for!!!!! Saying that my coat was cheap the cheapest coat that EddieBauer makes and I can try sewing it!!!!!. Wow she's definitely a winner. I called costumer service from the store and he didn't know want she was taking about and I do have a lifetime warranty and I'm getting new coat. Then she started steaming at me to get out of the store. Don't go there!!!!!!! read more

Excellent customer service! I was looking for a down winter coat on sale. The employees greeted me right away, asked if they could help me, suggested to look at the clearance rack first since all items were 50% off price, and ten minutes later I walked out with coat originally priced at $200 for only $50! They answered some questions about the coat and seemed knowledgeable about all the products. Great store! read more

This is a great Eddie Bauer store. It's huge, clean, and always well organized. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you find what you are looking for, but at the same time, they don't pester you the entire time you are trying to shop. The bathroom, although hard to find, is also very clean! This specific location almost always has sales going on, too. Their sidewalk sales are the best! This is when I stock up on their khakis and flannel-lined pants for my husband. He loves them! read more

One of the best places to get activewear, especially for winter. The coats and jackets come with lots of information on the materials, and they'll advise you on the best choice for your needs. If you do a lot of winter camping, you might want to check these guys out and avoid getting hospitalized for pneumonia. As far as the daily wear clothes, they aren't my style but they seem well-made and functional. This store has an attached home store, including curtains, bedding, kids' bedding, some furnture. Park on the street if you can, or try the lot off Jackson St., in back of the store. read more

Not very friendly at this location. Staff seemed annoyed when I had questions about items that weren't tagged or didn't have a price tag. I've worked retail and understand the frustration on days, but if you're not customer friendly, don't work retail. read more

What a great staff they have at this store! Jason, Beth, and Paige were outstanding. So friendly, and helpful. Had an unfortunate circumstance happen with our bag full of the items we bought that night. Jason, Paige, and Beth went out of there way to help us get the same items for the same price.
