Wow! Truly one of the rudest place I've ever been to. I had time to kill in Naperville and thought I'd check out this place. Bad decision. When I first walked in, 2 salesmen saw me and didn't acknowledge me at all. I was going to walk out immediately because I knew it was not going to be my style at all, but I meandered to the women's area and I was right. The merchandise is stuck in the bad, not cool 80s and old fashion style. As I was heading to the door, one of the men that ignored me initially was blocking the door. When he finally acknowledged my existence, I thought he wasn't going to move. I stuck my hand out to open the door and he grudgingly half-ass opened it and said goodbye and replied bye, but he must have not heard me and started to condescendingly say other things. Finally I got tired of his nonsense and responded with $&&#. Funny enough, a woman was going in as I was typing this review and promptly walked out. Lol read more

It the BEST men's clothing store in downtown Naper!! Service is spectacular, lots of choices to choose from (both biz & casual), and their customer work is fabulous (sport coats, tux, pants). My son called about a fitting for an upcoming wedding he is standing up in. On the phone, they told him the fitting was free. Afterwards, he was pulled aside in a corner of the store where the guy told him it was 8$ in cash. My son didn't have cash on him, so he had to go to the atm out front and pay to get cash. It's honestly not about the money. It sounds very sketchy and unprofessional. Just wanted to warn others about this before choosing to get fitted here. Dean's is a great store for quality clothes, brands, tailoring and apparel for people who are looking for one or two levels up in style and quality. It's not your typical off the rack apparel. For that , we can all go to other stores for budget minded purchases. Blend your wardrobe, right? When we want or need something that reflects a side of us that is a step above Off The Rack clothes.. well then Dean's is a GREAT source. They have higher end Brands. The staff is always nice and accommodating. Old Navy Jeans or Kohls are great for everyday wear...but, when you want to go out in style, the Brands at Dean's are where ya' want to be. read more

Avoid if you have cancer. A saw a beautiful dress in the window and, since I'm shopping for new work clothes now that I'm no longer working remote, I decided to stop in. I was extremely uncomfortable from the moment I entered the store. I was wearing leggings and a hoodie and a chemo beanie since I'm currently in cancer treatment. I admit, I look sickly and maybe that reads as "poor." I'm not. I never got a greeting or even a "be with you in a bit" from any of the sales people. I was struggling to hold all of the things I wanted to try on and looking for smaller sizes and whatnot and no one even came close to helping me, but others in the store were being fawned over. I started thinking "is this a store where you need an appointment to shop?" But now reading other reviews I guess you appearance here really matters. Finally as I had an armload of clothes with an item almost dragging in the floor, someone asked if she could take that to a fitting room. I said I'm ready to try on now. She seemed flustered and said she was trying to find a blouse for a customer. I was in the store for a long time without anyone offering to help me find sizes or even give me something to carry the items in. They had only two large sizes of the dress in the window. I tried on the smallest one and it was huge. I would have liked to have known if the one in the window was a smaller size, but o walked out without anyone even asking if I needed help finding a size. This was an extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable feeling and I'm sorry if my "cancer patient" look wasn't welcome there. They had lovely clothes. I will go back when I have hair again and don't look so poor and see if anyone greets me or offers assistance. read more

Wow. WOW. It's almost like a joke at this point after reading these reviews. Watch out for the old man yelling at you in the parking lot. I had a TERRIBLE experience. I accidentally turned into the parking lot that was a one way. No signs of a one way only a very faded arrow BUT an innocent mistake. AND it was basically EMPTY. There was a man standing outside the store that immediately started yelling at my friend and I that it was a one way. My friend began apologizing but for some reason this BITTER MISERABLE man kept GOING and being SO RUDE. And HE WAS A WORKER. I was completely shocked that he was this upset. I began to yell back telling him to calm the f down and some other.. not so nice things. Unfortunately when they go low I go lower and I came back to the store and gave him the finger and blew him a kiss. Hey, Hey, Hey - it's not just for old ladies or old tastes!!! They have an excellent selection of suits, dress shirts and ties for businessmen!!! I've gotten several custom tailored suits and shirts here - and although they are pricey, I got exactly what I wanted and will never buy a non-custom made shirt again. The fit is just perfect, and when the shirts came in, they made sure everything was just right and up to their specifications. My boyfriend and I stopped by for the first time today, and on of the employees was extremely rude to him. He was wearing athletic shorts, a T-shirt, and gym shoes since we were having a casual day, and one of the employees remarked, "oh you haven't shopped for yourself in a while, have you?" Not only was this insulting, assuming that he doesn't own any nice clothes, but then the clerk proceed to say that he "could just have a garage sale" for all his current clothes, and "could drive his pickup around back" to load up with new clothes, presumably from Dean's. The "owner" is extremely rude ... Just because I am a young adult, he discriminated me and my friends. I was in the parking lot pulling in and he was backing out and when I finished parking he pulled up to my car and got out and said "you need to stop when someone is backing out," when I had the right away. Employees are very rude here and I had the same experience with the parking lot as one of the other reviewers. The parking attendant yelled at me saying it was for customers only. I looked around in the store but didn't purchase any of their high priced clothes.. so now you are required to purchase something if you enter a store? My sisters and I were out shopping for our dads 48th birthday gift and thought no better place for some clothing and ties than deans. First, my sister pulls into the parking lot and an employee floors it out of the parking spot almost hitting her. she brushes it off and parks and the man proceeds to block off her car with his and come pointing fingers at her. Dean's is one of those great staples that every good town needs. It has been in Naperville for as long as I can remember and has changed their image as styles and clientele change. I highly recommend one of their salesman, Al DeGeeter. What a straight forward, great, all around guy. I believe Nordstrom got the idea of personnel service from these guys. They carry Men and Women's clothing and shoes for men, you can also rent tuxedos. When I started going there, Al measured me up and started bring clothes based on what I was looking for. He told me upfront what looked good and what didn't (Some of us men could start shopping on our own without our wives with a guy like this). Every time I buy clothes from Dean's, I get nothing but compliments. If they don't have something they will look for it and call you when they find it from there vast list of suppliers. I have now been shopping here for the last 25 years (and I still have clothes that I originally bought there with the though that I might fit into them again when I loose some pounds, HA!). I know there I cheaper and discount stores out there for clothes and I have tried many of them. The difference is you get what you pay for. When you look at the cost vs. how long you could wear it, the price is as cheap or cheaper then the discount stores. And when you have a guy like Al DeGeeter who will look for products or call you when something comes in that he thinks will look good on you, THAT'S PRICELESS. read more

Pretty nice place, a little old for my taste, but I've found some great, funkier skirts and sweaters. It's pretty expensive, but the sales are fabulous! I usually go when I need grown-up work clothes and don't want to deal with the Marshal Fields' crowds. They will tailor new clothes at no extra cost and the sales people are experts, very helpful. They're very pricey but are unique-ish as well. I usually just hun their sales rack :) The staffs were friendly. They greeted you and leave you the hell alone until you're ready for question or check out. They do have some funky men selections. I had the best experience at Deans... I wanted a new custom suite, shirts and pants. I was a little nerves at first with the process. They quickly fixed my concerns. Steve was my sales rep and Mark is the manager. This was the best shopping experience I have ever had. Custum clothing can be tricky. Since this was my first time I didn't understand the process. They helped understand and went above and beyond to make it right. Steve even drove to my house to deliver my cloths because I have very important business trip tomorrow. They made the alterations and hand delivered my shirts, PRESSED. They also told me that on three shirts would be ready. All the shirts are ready and in my closet. Thank you guys for making this an outstanding experience. Need less to say I will be a client of theirs for many years to come. read more

This is a clothing store for older women. My mom shops here all the time!!! They have some really nice dresses and skirts. The prices here are a little high, but worth it! There is a problem with parking here though. It's hard to find a parking nearby, but the walk to the store isn't so bad. read more

I have recently re-discovered Deans. They have clothing that is a little funky, hip, and fun. Of course they still have the classics. Cute scarves, purses, and jewelry. With the parking situation downtown Naperville, it's nice knowing I am guaranteed a close spot since they have their own little lot. The girls working in there are always helpful and will give you honest answers when asked, "How does this look on me?" They have a vast Brighton collection. Have not shopped over on the men's side of the store. Spend all my time on the women's side. They carry a lot of Spanx products. Love being able to pop in and out without having to navigate the mall area for last minute fashion needs. read more

This was my first visit to Dean's, and I let with very mixed feelings. There selection is great, boutique style for clothing and, the reason I went there, Brighton jewelry! I called ahead because I was shopping online, but they were sold out. Dean's came up as having the inventory. The woman on the phone was helpful, but apparently misunderstood what I wanted due to another associate having changed the display. She told me they had what I wanted, and held it, but when I got there it was a different story. A different woman tried to help me & said they were not holding anything for me (I drove 25 min to get there), but finally found someone who knew where my, incorrect, stuff was. There were 4 women all near the door, jewelry, checkout, and all but the one I spoke to on the phone, who eventually helped me, seemed to not know what was going on. They did accommodate me still getting the free tote bag for all the confusion, but ultimately I walked out without everything I drove there to buy. I'm a frequent Brighton shopper, at their corporate owned stores, and from this experience, I will stick to those. Additionally, my friend was making a Brighton jewelry purchase too, after having to wait so long for me, and their experience was similar.. "they don't seem to know what they're doing or how to close a sale Update: next day I went to show my mom the bracelets I bought for us only to find out that I still did not get what I asked for, granted they didn't charge me for the extra piece, but I also didn't get it. When I called, the same woman I dealt with the day before said "I must have misunderstood... again." Truth is, if they stopped talking over people so much, and actually listened to the customer, perhaps they could get things right. Never again will I shop here. I recommend leaving all Brighton shopping to the "real" Brighton stores. The only reason they get 2 stars and not 1 is due to selection of items available (mainly clothing). read more
