Our pool vacuum was suddenly behaving anemically, and after trying all the usual remedies I called Kohler, where I had purchased my Atlas vacuum. Kevin came out, went straight to work, and found a whole bunch of debris in our vacuum line (something I would never have been able to handle on my own). Then he started fixing other things in our pump system - vacuum handle, filter gasket, etc. It was enlightening to watch him systematically diagnose the problem with amazing speed and accuracy. I live near Del Mar and get fliers all the time in my mailbox from Kohler pool. I find this pretty creepy, as I was NEVER a customer of theirs, and it seems like they go through public records to see who got a pool permit. Well- we got our pool installed 20 years ago, so this is creepy. Regardless, my big flier says "WEEKLY POOL SERVICE!!"-- so I called them up in 2025 to get a quote. I find the company to be reasonably priced for quality service. Luke comes by every week and does more than any other company ever did to keep our spa looking sharp. The water is crystal clear despite our rather picky requests of minimal chemicals. When our spa heater went out, Kevin came by on time the following day. He is very knowledgeable and ran electrical diagnostic tests and isolated the problem. No guessing. Kevin returned the following day, installed the new parts, which repaired the issue. Don't be fooled by imitators: The first three companies either made up expensive repairs ('you need a new pump and heater, then cussed at me when I said I was going to get another opinion), or damaged the yard hardscape (from dragging the spa cover down steps) and told me I needed to replace plumbing inside the hardscape (100% not the case: a cracked joint was entraining air after that company replaced a water feature pump). Don't be fooled. Another company niced you to death, but never gave straight answers to questions or did anything beyond slogging (not measuring) chemicals into my spa. Finally found Kohler. I have been buying pool supplies from Kohler Pools for many years and always found the staff to be very responsive to my needs routinely offering helpful advice and great products. I never had an opportunity to utilize their service department until yesterday when I called to ask about having a technician come out to evaluate a leak at the pump. Alicia offered to call a a technician already in the area to see if he had time to stop by that afternoon to determine what repairs would be needed. Kevin stopped by and quickly determined that the shaft seal was probably causing the leak. After approving a very reasonable repair estimate Kevin came out this morning, replaced the required parts and eliminated the leak. The elapsed time from my call to finished repair was less than 24 hours. Alicia provided an extra dimension of great service when she stopped by to deliver an additional part. Kohler never sent an estimate and when I called to inquire about the estimate I was told Kevin found the situation "awkward" and does not want to do the install now.
