Casual, easy, good drinks, yummy hot dog. Most of the places on the beach are more upscale but this is a drink stand with some tables and chairs out front. You're very close to the beach and it's a great spot to people watch. The food is limited but sometimes less choices are for the better! A perfect spot for some cocktails right on the beach! If you're looking for a more casual and less pricey option for drinks by the beach then this is your spot! They have tables in front of the shack to enjoy the view and your drink. All the cocktails are $13 with on the rocks or blended choices. The bartender was very friendly and had such a happy vibe. He was quick with our order and made some delicious and strong drinks! I would definitely come back to this spot. Beautiful little spot to have a drink and watch the sunset. Not really a place for food but they have some things to nosh on such as hot dogs and such. Closes at 7pm but the tables and umbrellas remain so you can hangout and people watch. Great spot to catch the fireworks Friday nights at 8 pm next door at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Military discount but general drinks range about $14 for cocktails and $8-12 (big cup) for beers. No reservations, no problem. Come on down. read more

Coming here was one of the highlights of our visit to Waikiki. The bartender/proprietor was very kind to me and my mom who was in a wheelchair. He offered her a free drink and helped us get to a table, even as other customers were lining up. He showed a level of kindness to her that really brightened our day. I think I was gone by the second drink, but this is a much better place to buy drinks than the ones closer to the Hilton. It's a popular spot with all the people at the beach, so finding a place to sit may be tough. Highly recommend this spot! Great location right by the beach that's less crowded than the main Waikiki beach area. Drinks were tasty and it's one of few places that have valid frozen piña coladas. Sweet location right on the sand. Bartender Bobby is cool. $8.25 mai tai. $7.25 large draft beer. Around 8 tables with chairs and some high top seating. Some chairs and tables might have ants and need cleaning (get over it. It's outdoor seating at the beach). The mai tais come out of a gun but taste pretty good. I'm not sure about the "best" though. The Koa Oasis Became our go to afternoon cocktail on the beach during a fabulous stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We always found a couple of empty seats. We always found a smiling bartender. This is one of my favorite little hidden gem's in Waikiki. You really can't beat the combination of price & location for this establishment. I believe it is connected with the Hale Koa, because they offer a military discount and the cups say so, lol. I enjoy visiting here when I would like to have a good, strong, refreshing, well priced Mai Tai within feet of the beach and sand. There are no frills here in terms of ambiance but there will be a pineapple in your drink and it will be made well. Being a professional (as I consider myself, lol) Mai Tai taster isn't easy but I give this one a 7/10 and you should definitely swing by and check out Koa Oasis! I am honestly not sure about anything else they may serve because I only come here for the Mai Tais and the friendly man who makes them, Kimo. read more

The meat was extremely tender, but the coating was a touch oiler than I am used to. The curry sauce was really tasty and was a nice addition to the katsu! I also love that they had fountain soft drinks with complimentary refills. This was a very tasting tonkatsu dining experience in Honolulu!

This place is normally Great! The usual person,that I think is the owner, was not there today. And today there was a local looking person who is an ass! He obviously hates his job and the people that frequent the Kao Oasis. If you see him, stay away. I used to be an avid supporter of this beachside bar but, this experience has soured my opinion! It's too bad for the owner, he is doing a disservice to the people that were loyal and promoted this place. His middle finger pointing at me as I left told me all I needed to know about him.
