Terrible karaoke, strong drinks, responsive bartender and a fun atmosphere. I'd go again to get trashed.

Great dive bar with AC. The bartender Jake graced us with some free magic tricks. Uncle Kimo is the man

Walked by this place many a times, but felt intimidated somehow. It is an older, smaller dive bar. About a 10 seater bar and about 5 seated small tables. Went to see Carl play his guitar. There is live music on other days, too. Do a Yelp check-in for a $4 shot which happened to be a pineapple-upside down cake shot. It really did taste like one! Friendly bartender, stiff drinks and a good rotation of regulars, younger crowd and drinkers of all types. Pretty art work.

Dive, dive, dive. This is the epitome of a dive bar in one of the oldest drinking locations in Hawaii. Don't miss Smith Union Bar around the corner which is where the USS Arizona hung out.

Very nice spot to just wind down and have a drink or two.. People are nice and the bartender is excellent!!

This is a great spot to grab a drink if you want something that feels closer to a local dive bar vibe, even though it is right in the heart of Waikiki. You are not really dealing with locals raised on the island, but more people who live in the area or regulars who clearly make this part of their routine. It has that laid back, no frills energy that makes it easy to settle in for a drink or two. The barbacks were clearly busy, but drinks still came out quickly, which I appreciated. Overall, the vibe feels very tiki bar meets dive bar. Strong pours, loud music, and a crowd that is there to hang out rather than be seen. It adds to the fun, especially later at night. Not perfect and definitely crowded, but if you want a lively spot with fast drinks and a casual atmosphere, this is a solid stop. .

We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. It's something spritz, and my husband tried the banana bread old fashioned) and we shared the appetizer platter (brussel sprouts with pork belly, kalua pork egg rolls, poke tacos, and edamame)to share. We also ordered the garlic shrimp dumplings. Everything was super tasty. Lots of other items on the menu that I want to try during another visit to the island.

I initially tried the bakery directly across the street at the International Marketplace, but they didn't open until 7am. I began to walk towards a distant Starbucks I found on Google and noticed an active escalator and signage pointing towards the open Hideout at the Laylow. Advertising local coffee, I immediately took the ride upstairs and was greeted by two young ladies full of smiles and Aloha spirit! Being summertime and hot (even at 6am) I ordered a large iced latte and decided to drink it on their large open lanai. I'm glad I did. The breezes up there were perfect and watching the daylight get brighter with local birds chirping and fluttering about made for a very nice wake-up! This became my go-to stop every morning of my visit! I only ordered breakfast once and kept it low-carb so I had cheesy eggs and Portuguese sausage. Perfect and hit the spot. If staying at the Laylow (Marriott product) or close by, I'd recommend this as your morning wake-up as well! Enjoy!
