My husband and I had Kevin come out to do an estimate to insulate our attic, which was our second…read moreestimate. DES came in about $1,300 LESS than the other estimate we had. Right off the bat that's great to see, but the actual winner winner chicken dinner of the situation was that DES said they would be able to insulate our addition through our main attic space, that no cutting from the outside would be needed. The first estimate? HAD to cut through from the outsides because "there was just no getting it done from the main attic space." That little piece alone showed that DES takes the time and effort during their estimates to make sure they are doing the best job for the situation. Kevin came back out for the beginning of the job itself and was incredibly kind and pleasant while his team got started. He supervised for about an hour then let us know he had to get going, but that we could always call if we needed to speak with him directly instead of his team. During the job his team (made up of two men) were easy to speak with and had extensive knowledge regarding the two questions I had throughout the day. I basically forced them to take up my offer for food and drinks, but I think they mostly drank the waters I kept bringing them out of kindness. All in all I would recommend DES to anyone who is looking for good customer service and quality work from people who really know what they're doing/talking about.

After sending photos and doing some phone troubleshooting, we were told we needed a part--and that we'd be lucky if it was fixed before Christmas. Then came a video call with Jason from the DMV area, from ABDB Home Services, who patiently walked us through the process. As it turned out, all it needed was a simple cleaning of a clogged duct--something we could do ourselves. And just like that, it works! We're beyond grateful for the kindness, expertise, and perfect timing. Warmth restored just in time for Christmas!

Jason replied promptly and said he'd try to fit us in on Saturday. Cedric came Saturday at 3 and did a very thorough and quick job cleaning and reassembling, answered all my questions and confirmed it's fine to use. They could not have been nicer and we are very grateful they made the effort to fit us in at the last minute. Five stars!

We had several insulation specialists come by but only Daryl was up for the challenge. The room did not have a crawl space. Daryl was able to create a custom plan for our situation which required removing the existing floor and insulating and putting things back. He also provided the most practical and affordable options every step of the way. He went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. The project was back in March but the weather was too mild for me to notice a significant difference. Having been using the room for the majority of the summer in 100 Fahrenheit I can feel the difference. Thank you Daryl for all the hard work!!

As a small business owner myself, I can recognize when someone truly values their craft and their clients. Tony from AW HVAC Services came by last year when I thought our freon/coolant was low. He arrived on time, did a full check, and instead of upselling me on something unnecessary, he uncovered a much bigger issue caused by our home warranty company. Turns out our condenser and compressor were completely mismatched in size, which explained why our AC wasn't cooling properly. What really sealed my respect for him was that he refused to charge for the diagnosis. I booked him again to create a detailed report so we can take the home warranty company to SCC. If I ever need more HVAC work, he's definitely my go-to. Friendly, knowledgeable, with excellent reviews online and even small courtesies like closing doors behind him stand out.

The project looked like a simple fix and Tony got my heat up and running. However, the problem came back and I was a bit worried that it would be difficult to get Tony to come back to fix it again. But he came back quickly and helped me over the phone which helped with a temporary fix. System ended up shutting down a 3rd time and he came out again to fix it promptly! He didn't have the needed part on hand (which i would recommend that he carry in his truck) but it was easy to order on Amazon and had same day shipping so it wasn't a problem. I am very pleased with the service Tony provided and he gave a super detailed report of the work he did on our system. A+

My invoice included a specific charge for obtaining the necessary permits. However, Fairfax County Land Development Services has confirmed in writing that no gas permits were ever filed or issued for my property. In other words, I was charged for a service that, according to the County's records, was never performed. I discovered this in August 2026 and repeatedly contacted Rooftop Chimney Sweeps requesting permit documentation. The company stopped responding to my emails. This is particularly concerning because the work involved gas connections inside my home. Without documentation of the required permits and inspections, I cannot verify that the installations were properly inspected and approved. I am now faced with arranging the permits and inspections myself, despite having already paid for these services. If you hire this company for work requiring permits, I strongly recommend obtaining the permit numbers in writing and verifying them with the County before making final payment.
