He arrived on time, did a full check, and instead of upselling me on something unnecessary, he uncovered a much bigger issue caused by our home warranty company. Turns out our condenser and compressor were completely mismatched in size, which explained why our AC wasn't cooling properly. What really sealed my respect for him was that he refused to charge for the diagnosis. I booked him again to create a detailed report so we can take the home warranty company to SCC. AW Hvac answered my yelp request faster than any other business and we made an appointment that was sooner than other companies could provide to me. The project looked like a simple fix and Tony got my heat up and running. However, the problem came back and I was a bit worried that it would be difficult to get Tony to come back to fix it again. But he came back quickly and helped me over the phone which helped with a temporary fix. System ended up shutting down a 3rd time and he came out again to fix it promptly! He didn't have the needed part on hand (which i would recommend that he carry in his truck) but it was easy to order on Amazon and had same day shipping so it wasn't a problem. This morning he took me through a quick phone call, advised me for immediate actions to take, and after assessment by the fire department and gas company, was over to my place within a hour. He provided me tangible evidence, advice, and steps to take to solve my immediate concern of a fuel smell from my HVAC. He quickly diagnosed my problem, calibrated his findings with his professional equipment, and then showed me through his knowledge, equipment, and long history the cause of my concern. Secondly, he told me about the purpose of my vent passages in my utility closet, and set them to ensure proper functioning of my system for years to come. I walked into my house and it was 88 degrees - because my AC was not blowing any cold air. So I reached out to several highly reviewed places on Yelp, as well as a couple larger companies. Tony quickly responded, and within hours, he came to my house, diagnosed the problem, replaced the damaged parts of my older AC system, and soon had my unit up and running and cooling again! Tony replied to my service request within an hour or less. He offers a flat fee to come to you and do diagnostics. He explained everything to me about the parts and issue, identifying a major fire hazard with the previous installation work done years ago. He then explained the Code requirement and came up with an interim solution while we ordered the new heat kit. He came back within a week and reinstalled the new fuse box and heat kit. He also took the time to overview the parts and installation with me. Overall, Tony was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He made the extra effort to fit me in and help me get heat during the ice storm. He is someone I will store in my phone and refer him to my friends and family. Wish I could give 100 stars! Tony is the best! Very responsive, knowledgeable, courteous, tidy, and detail oriented. He diagnosed a troublesome blower issue that stymied several other HVAC companies. It took a lot of detective work but he found the issue, which was a faulty install of a UV light from another contractor. He fixed the problem and now everything is running great! I contacted Tony to evaluate my old HVAC unit. He was timely, courteous and professional. Thank goodness for Tony! Found out Wednesday evening our AC unit was seized up as it's an older unit. Request a quote around 8pm. He responded within 20 minutes and had us on the schedule for the following morning. He let us know when he was on the way. I was provided a very detailed quote for removal and install of the in/outside units. I was provided a date and time as well and they also finished within the time he allotted. Tony saved us from performing thousands of dollars in unnecessary upgrades to our HVAC system. We'd just purchased our first home and were having trouble keeping the temp on the 2nd floor comfortably cool. Prior to calling Tony, we had two local HVAC service companies come out to assess our system and recommend solutions. We were told by both those companies that we would need to either install new duct work ($6000) or install a mini split system on the 2nd floor ($9000+). Tony came out and in under an hour determined that our system was functioning just fine and that none of those upgrades were necessary (though they likely would have solved our problem). Instead, Tony recommended we install better insulation and heat vents in the crawl space under the roof (a much cheaper solution). Rather than try to sell us on thousands of $ in upgrades we didn't need, Tony was completely honest with us and even provided recommendations on who he'd to hire to do the work.
