Copying and pasting my post from Nextdoor because finding good, trustworthy businesses is rare, and I believe small actions deserve recognition. Not affiliated in any way. As a small business owner myself, I can recognize when someone truly values their craft and their clients. Tony from AW HVAC Services came by last year when I thought our freon/coolant was low. He arrived on time, did a full check, and instead of upselling me on something unnecessary, he uncovered a much bigger issue caused by our home warranty company. Turns out our condenser and compressor were completely mismatched in size, which explained why our AC wasn't cooling properly. What really sealed my respect for him was that he refused to charge for the diagnosis. I booked him again to create a detailed report so we can take the home warranty company to SCC. If I ever need more HVAC work, he's definitely my go-to. Friendly, knowledgeable, with excellent reviews online and even small courtesies like closing doors behind him stand out. read more

AW Hvac answered my yelp request faster than any other business and we made an appointment that was sooner than other companies could provide to me. The project looked like a simple fix and Tony got my heat up and running. However, the problem came back and I was a bit worried that it would be difficult to get Tony to come back to fix it again. But he came back quickly and helped me over the phone which helped with a temporary fix. System ended up shutting down a 3rd time and he came out again to fix it promptly! He didn't have the needed part on hand (which i would recommend that he carry in his truck) but it was easy to order on Amazon and had same day shipping so it wasn't a problem. I am very pleased with the service Tony provided and he gave a super detailed report of the work he did on our system. A+ read more

100%, A+, Platinum vendor for HVAC services. Mr.Tony is the only person/company I'll ever allow to touch my hvac. This morning he took me through a quick phone call, advised me for immediate actions to take, and after assessment by the fire department and gas company, was over to my place within a hour. He provided me tangible evidence, advice, and steps to take to solve my immediate concern of a fuel smell from my HVAC. He quickly diagnosed my problem, calibrated his findings with his professional equipment, and then showed me through his knowledge, equipment, and long history the cause of my concern. He further informed me about my unit, and its shelf life, and the necessary action to ensure longevity, and avoid future costly repairs. Secondly, he told me about the purpose of my vent passages in my utility closet, and set them to ensure proper functioning of my system for years to come. He confirmed information I already knew, but provided comfort in knowing that his advice and guidance provided today about my system, aligned to my home inspector I hired when I bought my home. These days it's hard to find an ethical and legitimate service technician, and that is no slight to others; but Mr. Tony has earned his spot in my speed dial list when I need a routine inspection, service, and or if the life of the unit becomes unserviceable. His company is the only company ever to touch my hvac. You can see from my reviews about how I provide feedback. But, this company is a unicorn in a good way, and I am providing my thumbs up to anyone looking for a honest, reputable, informed, and true master of his craft! Thank you!!! read more

Tony is the absolute best. He'll explain everything; he'll go the extra mile; and he'll give you a very good price!

I hired Tony to troubleshoot a compressor/breaker problem that I was having. He Check every component thoroughly and had some great recommendations. Super satisfied with his work and that he took the time to make sure I understood what he was explaining to me. Will be calling again for my HVAC needs. read more

I was having a heating issue and a friend recommended AW HVAC Services. I reached out, provided an overview and received a call back to schedule an appointment. Tony came out the next day and contacted me 30 mins prior to arriving. Tony was thorough, efficient and provided me details. After the work, was complete, he described the issue (what was fixed/how), communicated his concerns, and provided recommendations going forward and pictures. Lastly, the emailed invoice had all of this informational well. I strongly recommend AW HVAC Services, because contacting and scheduling technicians can be a strenuous journey and I wish everyone operated like AW HVAC Services. read more

I wish i could give this business 1000 stars (and have already told my friends they are crazy if they hire anyone else for AC repair)!! I walked into my house and it was 88 degrees - because my AC was not blowing any cold air. So I reached out to several highly reviewed places on Yelp, as well as a couple larger companies. Tony quickly responded, and within hours, he came to my house, diagnosed the problem, replaced the damaged parts of my older AC system, and soon had my unit up and running and cooling again! I was honestly shocked to get such amazing service -- and shocked again when i saw the invoice, a bill for the VERY reasonable price of $300! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Tony is incredible. Excellent service on every level. read more

Did an amazing job cleaning out the unit and coming on timely manner, he was HONEST, GOOD VALUE, and DOES NOT cheat you, I highly recommend, on point read more

Tony replied to my service request within an hour or less. He offers a flat fee to come to you and do diagnostics. He explained everything to me about the parts and issue, identifying a major fire hazard with the previous installation work done years ago. He then explained the Code requirement and came up with an interim solution while we ordered the new heat kit. He came back within a week and reinstalled the new fuse box and heat kit. He also took the time to overview the parts and installation with me. Overall, Tony was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He made the extra effort to fit me in and help me get heat during the ice storm. He is someone I will store in my phone and refer him to my friends and family. He knows what he's doing, is kind, respectful, and trustworthy. I also believe his price point was competitive and fair. read more

Wish I could give 100 stars! Tony is the best! Very responsive, knowledgeable, courteous, tidy, and detail oriented. He diagnosed a troublesome blower issue that stymied several other HVAC companies. It took a lot of detective work but he found the issue, which was a faulty install of a UV light from another contractor. He fixed the problem and now everything is running great! Price is reasonable as well for the level and quality of service. Will never go to any other HVAC company! read more

Tony is wonderful and has been so helpful in not only providing service for my own unit but also most of the residents in my building. He is very friendly, responsive and always willing to help! I really appreciate how he explains things well and looks out for his customers. Unfortunately last summer my HVAC system needed a full replacement and Tony and his team worked diligently in the summer heat to help fix my unit. Thank you Tony for all that you do. Highly recommend to anyone in the DMV area looking for someone who is professional, responsive and very knowledgeable! read more

Tony recommended and installed a new high efficiency heat pump that has been working great. He was very responsive to questions as we narrowed in on the best option for our budget, home setup and desired features. His prices and quotes weren't the cheapest or the highest but offered the best value and trustworthiness. The installation took as long as he said it would and was done effectively. There were a few curveballs that his team handled well. Very satisfied with the experience overall, in particular how accessible Tony has been post installation. He's taken questions by email or text and has undertaken an adjustment review to ensure the settings were correct. Very happy with the overall experience. read more

He tried to strong arm me to pay for something that wasn't discussed. He told me I needed to pay his fees that I wasn't aware of. i was only paying for what was discussed and that was the$75. I wasn't paying his hidden fees. No deal read more

I can't recommend AW HVAC services enough. Tony is very knowledgeable and he does not mind taking extra time and effort to make sure he fixes your issue. My heating system abruptly stopped working. Tony was available next morning; identified the issue and clearly described to me. He clearly explains you the cost estimates and gives you options to choose from. Long story short, within the same day he fixed my heating system and I had heat again! read more

A/C stopped cooling and of course it's when we are in an air advisory. My good friends recommended Tony and I am so glad they did. he responded quickly and professionally. Not only did he fix the problem but definitely utilizing him to work on my annual HVAC inspection/cleaning. I would recommend him to anyone just off of efficency, affordability and results! Thank you again! read more

Great experience with Tony and appreciate the time he took to explain not only what service he performed but why the service is important. I've attempted a few HVAC services and AW has been the best. Look forward to continuing to work with AW read more

I contacted Tony to evaluate my old HVAC unit. He was timely, courteous and professional. Tony answered all of my questions regarding the unit, showed me pictures of problem areas, explained why they are or were soon going to be problematic, and provided me options on sustainment or replacement at a fair price point. I ultimately decided to replace my HVAC unit as a result of this. Again, Tony and his team returned to my property and executed the replacement with a level of professionalism that other establishments simply lack today. I will be returning to Tony for any future HVAC servicing needs and will happily recommend him to my friends and family. read more

Tony's service is exceptional. He found time, despite my late request, to schedule a visit to my unit in less than 48 hours after my message - I asked for his help Saturday, he came on Monday. He arrived on time, was communicative and forthcoming about his arrival, and very personable and kind. He changed the wiring of our AC unit, removed the old thermostat and installed my Nest thermostat in under 20 minutes and with minimal noise. His pricing was reasonable and exactly what he said he would charge us. Tony will get our business whenever we need AC work and we will be sure to recommend him to our friends and neighbors. read more

Thank goodness for Tony! Found out Wednesday evening our AC unit was seized up as it's an older unit. Request a quote around 8pm. He responded within 20 minutes and had us on the schedule for the following morning. He let us know when he was on the way. When he got here he broke down everything he was doing and explained everything to me. Obviously AC/HVAC units are not my knowledge base! By Thursday morning, he had the parts and fixed our unit. Explained everything so I could understand and what to keep an eye out for. I cannot recommend AW HVAC services enough. I will definitely be using him for any Hvac related services in the future. read more

Tony was great! He was able to come out on short notice and assessed the problem right away. He gave very clear and helpful advice, including a detailed written summary after his visit. We'll definitely be calling him for all future HVAC issues! read more

The air went out, and it's been sweltering I did a search and came across AW HVAC. I checked the reviews - all good things - and submitted a request. Within 10 minutes, I received a response from Tony and was scheduled for the next morning. Tony texted when he was en route, met with my mom and sister since I was working, assessed the problem, fixed it, kept me in the loop, and left happy customers. If you have an issue, reach out to AW HVAC, they are THE BEST!! read more

I cant speak a bad word about the service quality or value of the work. This service was requested because my unit went out back in April. I was provided a very detailed quote for removal and install of the in/outside units. I was provided a date and time as well and they also finished within the time he allotted. I can appreciate his knowledge and ability to explain his work. I honestly don't remember the last time I received a light bill this low. My new ECO system is doing the job very well. I plan to recommend and use this service as long as its available. read more

Given the strong rating on here, I was hopeful about the business. I messaged, confirmed a mutual time, and sent my address and email to confirm the time slot. I was told I would receive a text message on the day, 30 minutes prior to arrival; however, it's now the next day, after the appointment and I still have yet to receive either a text message or a phone call about the arrival. At this point, I'm hesitant to even follow up, and will probably just try to book a different company. read more

Our 7-year-old HVAC quit working and I went onto Yelp to find someone to help get it going again. I quickly found Tony at AW HVAC Services--with the consistently highest ratings I could find. I contacted him and received a very quick response. He came out the same day to diagnose/troubleshoot the problem. Unfortunately, it required an uncommonly-sized part that he needed to get. He purchased it quickly and squeezed a follow-up visit into his already full schedule. He got the system up and running with careful work. Along the way, he explained what he was doing in clear, understandable terms for both my husband and me. One more necessary part (a replacement cover for part of the outside unit) is on order. He sourced it directly and has been straightforward and clear about timing, costs, and process. His problem-solving approach is honest and clear. Tony is a super-nice guy who is clearly very skilled at all things HVAC. I highly recommend him and plan to use him from now on for all of our heating and cooling needs. Thank you, Tony! read more

Tony with AW HVAC Services has been great. Responded very quick and was able to schedule an appointment right away. He showed up right on time and was very professional and polite. Right away we could tell he was extremely knowledgable. Best of all, he was not out to sell us different services as we have had happen in the past. He explained and showed us exactly what was going on within the system and gave different options on how to proceed. Highly recommend! read more

Was scheduled for 8-12 today. At 1:30 pm we still hadn't heard from him so we called him (he wouldn't give his name) to see if he was still coming, he said he was running late and would be there at 2:45 pm. My wife and I had scheduled something 2-3 pm that we could not miss, 3 pm was the soonest we could be back and we asked if he could he be there at that time. He said he could not wait around for us, that we should find another company and hung up the phone. read more

I would highly recommend Tony's services. He is professional, very knowledgeable and prices his jobs competitively.

My AC stopped working in the middle of July (wonderful timing). They were able to come out and repair within 3 days (naturally there was a wait in the middle of summer). He provided a two hour window and was very prompt and timely in his arrival. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue and provided a detailed estimate up front to the cost of the necessary repairs. He quickly and professionally completed the repairs and my AC is working perfectly now. We were all impressed with his level of service and professionalism. read more

We have an issue with water around our ducts in an apartment building and called Tony out for a second opinion after another HVAC company left us hanging. Tony was great, a true professional who patiently listened to what I could describe of the problem and then helpfully filled in with his expertise, breaking it down for me so that I could understand what was likely going on. He was definitely interested in listening and making sure the problem got solved, which is invaluable. Could not recommend his company more highly. read more
