AW HVAC Services - Amana Heat Pump Installation

Copying and pasting my post from Nextdoor because finding good, trustworthy businesses is rare, and…read moreI believe small actions deserve recognition. Not affiliated in any way. As a small business owner myself, I can recognize when someone truly values their craft and their clients. Tony from AW HVAC Services came by last year when I thought our freon/coolant was low. He arrived on time, did a full check, and instead of upselling me on something unnecessary, he uncovered a much bigger issue caused by our home warranty company. Turns out our condenser and compressor were completely mismatched in size, which explained why our AC wasn't cooling properly. What really sealed my respect for him was that he refused to charge for the diagnosis. I booked him again to create a detailed report so we can take the home warranty company to SCC. If I ever need more HVAC work, he's definitely my go-to. Friendly, knowledgeable, with excellent reviews online and even small courtesies like closing doors behind him stand out.

The project looked like a simple fix and Tony got my heat up and running. However, the problem came back and I was a bit worried that it would be difficult to get Tony to come back to fix it again. But he came back quickly and helped me over the phone which helped with a temporary fix. System ended up shutting down a 3rd time and he came out again to fix it promptly! He didn't have the needed part on hand (which i would recommend that he carry in his truck) but it was easy to order on Amazon and had same day shipping so it wasn't a problem. I am very pleased with the service Tony provided and he gave a super detailed report of the work he did on our system. A+

Called Friday morning and the receptionist was amazing and got someone to our house that morning. Full diagnostic told us the compressor went bad. Our unit was 13 years old, so it was about time for a new system. We decided to replace whole system as replacing a compressor is quite expensive basically half the cost of a new one. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. The owner himself came with a couple guys and replaced our system. They were very polite, did excellent work and we were back up and running. Plus they had very affordable pricing. These guys care! Use 'em. We loved our experience from start to finish!

Shanahan's email after receiving quote. But then I did not have any responses for my questions for a week. Maybe, they are busy and did not read my email yet. Brandon's diagnostic was great, but I am not getting responses for my emails before making my decision.

He also took the time to follow up and make sure everything was still working well, which was so nice. The appointment was easy to set up online and they had convenient availability, which I really appreciated in the peak of summer!

I scheduled a service appointment because my heat wasn't working. When Tony arrived, I asked if the issue could be related to work done on my system in August. I went upstairs to turn on the heat for troubleshooting, and before I even made it back downstairs, the heat came back on. When I told Tony I could hear it running, I asked if he had done anything to the system he said "no". I asked more than once, and instead of explaining what might have happened, he tried to sell me a routine maintenance plan, which I declined. I was still charged an $85 service fee. The next morning, I read the service report and saw that Tony had written he "I found that the gas valve was in the off position after place gas valve in the on position system engaged properly and began heating home." He never mentioned the gas valve being off or that he turned it on during the visit. I'm confident the valve was turned off during Logan's previous visit in August when a coil was replaced and welding was done in the HVAC closet. I reached out to Tristan to discuss the report and request a refund. I haven't received a call back from him or anyone else at Logan. Instead, Tony called me. After this experience, I feel less confident in Logan Mechanical's transparency and customer service. I appreciated my first experience, but this recent interaction left me questioning their communication and integrity.

I had several additional requests which they accommodated such as adding an extra drain line and additional return vent and all the work was done as requested. Since completion of the job, they have come back on routine maintenance visits to keep the system up and running and the cost of which was included with the original work. I therefore. have been very pleased with after-installation service. Separately, I used them for plumbing, specifically replacing a sink faucet, repairing a garbage disposal, and repairing a leaky shower fixture. I was very pleased with this service as well. Especially the garbage disposal because all it needed was a minor turn of a crank to loosen it up instead of a full replacement, which saved me a significant amount of money. Obviously, overall, I'm very happy with their services. I will be using them again and highly recommend.

It's unbelievable but some companies required upfront deposit even before assessment of the issue. Our technician,Brian, was on time, called prior, came with shoe covers, quickly identified problems with toilet, gave us estimates and couple options to think about. I called next morning and next business day he returned and completed repair. Again on time, very professional and leave no dirt or waste after job. Prices are horribly high now everywhere, but plumbing can't be avoided,so their price point is adequate to area, but service is superb. Can't deduct star for high prices, because they are using gas and supplies which are horrible now.
