Logan's Mechanical misdiagnosed my 2022 furnace, claiming the gas valve was defective when the real issue was corroded gas burners. They quoted $500 for a valve that retails around $200, and a total of $1,500 for the replacement which is extremely expensive based on standard pricing. They also failed to check whether the unit was still under warranty. If I had approved the repair, the actual problem would have remained and I would have paid $1,500 for nothing. I tried to resolve this directly, but the supervisor said he would call "when he has time." It has now been about a week with no follow-up, only contact from assistants. I recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major repairs here. read more

I hired Logan Mechanical to investigate a persistent vibration and humming issue in my first-floor apartment caused by AC units mounted in the exterior wall above me. The noise has been severely disrupting sleep for months, especially due to frequent short-cycling during mild temperatures. The technicians briefly inspected both units, noted one had visible mold and the other heavy dirt buildup, and then ran them at full speed before concluding everything was "normal" with no mechanical issues. However, they did not evaluate the system under the actual conditions causing the problem (frequent on/off cycling), nor did they inspect wall sleeves, mounting points, or any potential vibration transmission through the building--despite this being the main concern of my service request. No mitigation or isolation recommendations were provided. Afterwards, I had to follow up multiple times to receive the report. For a $190 visit, I did not receive a meaningful diagnosis or actionable solutions. The report simply stated everything was "normal," which doesn't help address the ongoing issue with the condo association. My first experience with Logan Mechanical was stellar. However, after a recent visit from Tony, I'm more hesitant to use their services again. I scheduled a service appointment because my heat wasn't working. When Tony arrived, I asked if the issue could be related to work done on my system in August. I went upstairs to turn on the heat for troubleshooting, and before I even made it back downstairs, the heat came back on. When I told Tony I could hear it running, I asked if he had done anything to the system he said "no". I asked more than once, and instead of explaining what might have happened, he tried to sell me a routine maintenance plan, which I declined. I was still charged an $85 service fee. The next morning, I read the service report and saw that Tony had written he "I found that the gas valve was in the off position after place gas valve in the on position system engaged properly and began heating home." He never mentioned the gas valve being off or that he turned it on during the visit. I'm confident the valve was turned off during Logan's previous visit in August when a coil was replaced and welding was done in the HVAC closet. I reached out to Tristan to discuss the report and request a refund. I haven't received a call back from him or anyone else at Logan. Instead, Tony called me. After this experience, I feel less confident in Logan Mechanical's transparency and customer service. I appreciated my first experience, but this recent interaction left me questioning their communication and integrity. read more

I was told one thing, but I wanted to get a second opinion, so after searching the Web, I found Logan Mechanical, which has good reviews from the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Anthony Williams was sent to our home by Logan Mechanical, and I must say that I appreciate Mr. Williams' attitude and presentation. He was very articulate in explaining the problem. I've got mixed reviews: on the one hand, I rate service as fast, the technician (Tony) is knowledgable, efficient, personable, and responsive. On the other hand, the value for the service is not comparable. There is a $95 HVAC service fee that is not applied against any subsequent service required to be performed. No senior discount is offered. In my case, to switch out one Honeywell thermostat for another 'compatible' Honeywell thermostat and re-wire cost me $1,106.25 for work that was performed in less than the 10 minutes it took me to sign the contract. Add the $95 service fee and the total cost was $1,201.25 with only a 30-day guarantee on work. Not included, a separate/follow-up visit for Freon is $500 service fee plus cost of Freon @ $125/lb. It's difficult to compare HVAC services because there is too much cost flexibility, in my opinion. Costs are on a sliding scale and if the weather outside is extreme, then the desperation of shopping around is high, making HVAC customers vulnerable. Again: the service for Logan Mechanical is great...the cost, not so much If budget conscious, I would not recommend. read more

Hi, I requested service to help with my AC that was not working. Your technician helped with the clog and identified a clog in the main line that was helpful. When I asked if the AC unit itself was okay he said that since it was working before it is probably going to be fine. Now both clogs are cleared and I am out almost 500 but the AC was not really assessed and still does not work. I realize that it is hard to diagnose when there is a clog causing flooding but it would have been helpful to check in and see if the machine actually worked and come back and more fully diagnose the problem. I also think 500 to shop vac a clog is a lot of money. read more

They fixed my old boiler with water pipe leaks and made the unit works again. Another company came first and told me that I need a new boiler for $85k and totally missed the leaked pipe. Second company came and found the problem with leak but doesn't do plumbing repairs. Logan was the 3rd company. The didn't find the leak until I told them what the 2nd guy found. Moral of the story: always get multiple quotes. There are so many companies are out there just like to push you to upgrade and throw away the old system. I would not recommend this company at all!! Our furnace went out I couldn't get back up an running, my wife found this company!! They came for $85 and was told it would cost $600 to fix Greg Price checked it out said it was the blow motor!! And charged her $400, so we both found the motors (which we have 2) we contacted them no reply then 3 -4 days later my wife gets a call from Greg .... He explained some B.S about not having tools that he told his company about, and someone from the company would reach out to us, blah blah ... song and dance!! We then get a email stating that it will be $5000 to fix the issue!! So what happen to the $600 we was told at 1st. We got no response, and the $400 my wife already gave you!! Still no response!!! Now you want us to pay $5000!! I think not!! So we called another company they came within seconds and it was fixed within minutes; All it was , was we had a clogged the line!! Which was $249 to fix, I've reach out to Logan , my wife reached out to Logan!! And nothing at all!! In a different place and time I would have definitely handled this in a very different manner!! So in short would i recommend company "HELL NO" business practices , professionalism is piss poor. I contacted this company for a thermostat (Ecobee smart enhanced) that I couldn't self install. The receptionist was kind enough to connect me to the owner after a brief description of my issue. The owner was kind enough to quickly spend a minute or two on the phone with me to determine if a service call was warranted or not. The owner was incredibly polite, and after a brief chat, decided we should have a technician on site. The fact that the owner took a call between jobs was impressive, most places bounce you in an out of some queue and try and stamp you into an appointment without even understanding what your going though. Appointment was booked with the receptionist shortly after speaking to the owner. (I got a call back to schedule in less than 15 minutes, I didn't even have to call the office back directly) When the tech arrived, he was polite and respectful, he answered questions and got the install done. My a/c was not working. I searched for someone who come the quickest. Logan could come between 6 and 8 pm. He made it at 850. After checking out my system he gave me a verbal quote. 350 for a capacitor, 350 for a contact and 140 from a service call. $840 total. I asked for a parts and labor breakdown. He wouldn't and pulled his tablet so I couldn't see. I sent him away and told him he was ripping me off. The next day I had another company that came and fixed it for $335. LOGAN tried to take advantage of me. Please don't use them. read more

I moved into my Condo two years ago, and the AC/Heat was never solid. After the coils broke and multiple refrigerant charges. I finally decided to replace my unit with a bigger unit to make up for (Global Warming, the high elevation/ceilings, and lots of natural light!) I reached out to multiple vendors and decided to go with Logan Mechanical. Paul came out first to provide an estimate, he was professional, knowledgeable and on time. A quote was sent shortly after his visit. I had a few general questions, so Tristian came back out to validate and confirm before we moved forward. Everything was handled well, and they were patient and honest with me. I knew for sure during the second visit that I wanted to work with them, mainly because it's a black-owned business but also because they provided great service. After a few weeks, the HVAC unit was delivered, they arrived on the scheduled date, on time, and they were very thorough and cleaned up behind themselves; I was nervous because, during the installation, they didn't seem to have any issues (which generally doesn't happen with renovation work) all of that to say, they took care of everything while I worked from home and now I have cool air blowing through my vents for the first time in almost two years. My AC unit went out during a heatwave in July, and I wanted to get the issue repaired soonest. This was the first time I needed any service done on my AC unit, so I didn't even know where to go to find a reputable company other than a Google search. I was very happy to find that Yelp not only had companies with reviews, but also sent out the service request on my behalf. Several companies contacted me within the hour, but Logan Mechanical was able to cone and assess the issue the soonest and did not charge a fee to do so. The technician walked me through what he was doing, completed the assessment, and said he could fix the issue that day. He broke down the costs, and once I gave the 'green light', he went about fixing the problem. By the time he left, I had a better education on AC maintenance and repairs, and the temperature immediately began to drop in the house. Our whole situation was frustrating because we paid $700 to replace two parts only to find out that our compressor needed to be replaced so it didn't even fix our problem. We originally thought it was going to cost $280 to fix the issue. We finally got other quotes for the compressor and went with another company for that. I probably would have had the same situation if I had gone with another company but no way to know for sure. I am pretty sure it would have at least cost less for the first two parts with another company, especially for the second part which they replaced on the spot after realizing the first part didn't fix the problem. I felt like they could have been more reasonable with the cost of that one considering they were already here and had it apart - took 10 minutes to replace it and cost $350. Overall, hard to review the company with our situation, but glad I got other quotes on the compressor. They did do a nice job getting the first part covered with our warranty. read more

Very disappointed. My heat went out. Phone rep for company gave appointment for 2-4PM with Greg. A little before 2PM technician called and said he would be delayed (even though company had sent message he was on the way). Around 6PM he called again, stating he'd arrive in about an hour. At 9PM I called Logan Mechanical to let them know their mechanic never showed up. About 15 minutes later there was a knock at my door. He walked in and said, "I told you I was coming." Needless to say, he wasn't able to repair our furnace. So, it was 10PM at night and too late to make other plans. My 94-year-old mother had to spend the night in very cold house. Almost forgot.
