Very disappointed. My heat went out. Phone rep for company gave appointment for 2-4PM with Greg. A little before 2PM technician called and said he would be delayed (even though company had sent message he was on the way). Around 6PM he called again, stating he'd arrive in about an hour. At 9PM I called Logan Mechanical to let them know their mechanic never showed up. About 15 minutes later there was a knock at my door. He walked in and said, "I told you I was coming." Needless to say, he wasn't able to repair our furnace. So, it was 10PM at night and too late to make other plans. My 94-year-old mother had to spend the night in very cold house. Almost forgot. I had a critical heating problem which was causing my blower motor to not start. I was worried because my inside temp was down to 59. Greg arrived on time, listened while I explained what had been happening with my heater. Greg then started his analysis of the issue. Within 15 minutes my heater was running properly. We had them to fix our tenant's AC and they were available and quick to fix. Reasonable price. I love that they send pictures which made me trust them more. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars, not 5. Is because the tech threatened us to pay asap on the spot or they'll remove the part. I thought that was very strange because usually we would pay within 24 hours or so. We both were at work but luckily one of us got out of our meeting meeting and paid. I'll preface all of this by saying that at the end of the day, everything is installed and working properly. It was just a long and involved process to get there with mistakes and oversights that shouldn't have happened. Our attic fan died so we contacted them to diagnose it (motor burned out) and replace it. It took longer than expected for the fan to come in that they ordered, about two weeks, and then it was way too big. Apparently they didn't measure the fan they were replacing originally. They left and brought back another fan but it didn't look right. When I researched what it was, I found it was way underpowered compared to what should be installed so I rejected the installation. At this point they pulled out the old motor and found the model number on it (which is probably what should have happened in the beginning). They were then able to find a replacement motor and install it. But then I realized the fan was never turning off. I went up into the attic and quickly just from looking at it realized they had mis-wired the fan so that it completely bypassed the thermostat, meaning it would end up running 24/7. Another technician came out the following day, confirmed my findings, and fixed it. It's now working just fine. All of the guys that came out were very friendly, which considering the high heat and tight space of our attic, I'm impressed they all were able to stay positive, especially with all of the back and forth. So in the end, yes the fan was replaced and working, but the process took several weeks and only went right because I questioned what they were installing and know enough about these things to know it wasn't installed properly. They made it right in the end, but lots of mistakes along the way. read more

I needed a walk thru air conditioner installed. I had the unit. The old one needed to be removed and the new one put in. They did send a young man the next day who took pictures and measurements. I told him I had the replacement unit. He said I'd receive a written estimate by the end of the day. No estimate that day; I called the next day and the day after and the day after. No estimate. Then I get an email from them on day 3 saying they've been looking for a new unit but they don't make them anymore in my size so they cannot do the job. Seriously?! What nonsense. And such a waste of time. In hindsight I suspect I was too small a job for them in which case they should have said so. And put that in their ad. read more

He ran a series of tests to diagnose the problem and educated about the issues I was experiencing throughout the process. Additionally, he went through the costs as we progressed through the repair. I believe that there prices were fair and my YELP discount was honored. I appreciated that Tristan was thorough and easy to work with. At one point, we were locked out of the unit and he patiently waited until the door was opened. Furthermore, the equipment they use to run their tests are advanced, because it's connected to IT devices to provide more in-depth information to the mechanic. We had been having trouble with our gas furnace not heating or cooling since a black snake crawled up inside the duct (seeking heat) & died. Two different firms had come out, did cursory inspections for $150 and told us the 20 year old Carrier unit needed replacement. Today Greg from Logan Mechanical came out (NO diagnostic fee, btw!) and solved the puzzle, checking all the components methodically. He changed out a few rusted compressor bits and cleaned the unit, tested all functions and bingo! We were gritting our teeth about a potential 10-15 K investment. Tristan and the team at Logan Mechanical are great! I'm always a little worried about HVAC companies since a lot of times they talk a good game but can't seem to get things right. Tristan on the other hand is completely different. He didn't try to upsell me and he was honest about my options and allowed me to make an informed decision on a new HVAC system. They first showed up after my system alerted me to a leak and loss of pressure which made the heat pump run for hours without any heat coming out. He assessed that there was a leak via a leak test which seemed to help but told me that if it happened again I would have to consider brazing the lines or replacing the system. After a few weeks the leak started again and after looking at options went for a total replacement. The replacement took about 2/3rd of the day and it's much better than the 10 year old system that I had before. They also offered 1 year of maintenance and 10 years parts warranty. Looking forward to cooler summers and warmer winters. If I ever need service again I'm definitely calling Tristan and Logan Mechanical. I'm really happy to have found a great small business that I can support. read more

I've been having trouble with one of my splits the entire summer! Have had to resort to putting a fan in the living room to try and get by. I tried two other companies first, both of them took my money and both of them failed to diagnose the problem. While asking around, someone mentioned Logan Mechanical to me. I tried calling them and they told me there would be no diagnostic fee. If they come in, assess the problem, and we decide not to go through with the repair, they won't charge anything. I thought I have nothing to lose so went ahead with it. Jason is the technician who came by and finally solved my months-long problem! I have a mini split from a company that is not popular so the first thing he did was go through the manual to acquaint himself with the split. He then completed his diagnosis and told me what the problem was. He was very open and honest with me. He told me how much cost I can expect and how much it might go up to. The repairs in the end were much lower but I appreciated his honesty for letting me know instead of blindsiding me later like others do. After dealing with two other companies that didn't fix the issue with my A/C, I found Logan Mechanical via Yelp. They were very responsive and sent out a technician, AJ, who was approachable and answered all my questions. A previous technician from a different company just advised me to replace my entire HVAC unit and ballpark quoted me $13k! Logan Mechanical provided the diagnostic service free of charge, and my A/C was up and running the same day after AJ added two pounds of freon and a leak seal, which included a follow up UV service. I was billed $650 for both visits, which I found to be extremely reasonable compared to the previous technicians who charged me just for coming out. read more

During my search six companies came up and Logan Mechanical by far was the most professional. They contacted me, followed up, and their technician showed up on time. I decided to have my dryer vent cleaned, because of the burnt plastic smell that was coming from my dryer. The technician, Greg, cleaned the dryer vent and thoroughly explained what the issue was with my dryer, how to resolve it, and suggested I consider a cost benefit analysis with whatever decision I make. Overall, I enjoyed working with Logan Mechanical, they are professional, and I'm happy to have met the technician, Greg. Logan Mechanical came to diagnose the problem and told me the heat exchanger is cracked and I should not run it and need to replace it. Their quote for the new furnace was reasonable, and I just went with them. They came as scheduled and did the job very well. The technician came out quick enough, but all he did was possibly diagnose what might be wrong with our air conditioning, but didn't fix anything. He didn't have coolant with him so he couldn't add coolant. He said everything was running fine, but we are stuck with an air conditioning system that doesn't cool and doesn't have airflow. He did charge us for the service call, and he broke our closet door. He didn't tell us he broke the door, but he left without sending us the report he promised. He did not follow up with the report he promised. I don't recommend you use this business! read more

Technician came same day to examine the problem with HVAC. Correctly identified what was going on and determined that part would need replacement. Offered to refill our refrigerant in the meantime to keep unit cool. Charged us for an entire refill of the refrigerant and promised that an estimate and quote would be delivered to us that night or next day, pending paperwork on his end. Never heard back from the technician or the company again regarding the estimate, part, quote, or timeline for install. And of course the expensive refrigerant that we paid to have refilled was gone and leaked all the way out within 72 hours. Would not recommend using them or contacting them again. read more
