    Pump ups shifting over time - no screws

    Ramesh installed a Mitsubishi minisplit for me 2 years ago. I noticed this weekend that the outdoor unit was falling off of the pump ups, and essentially was simply sitting loosely on these pump ups. There were no screws, bolts, etc. securing the outdoor unit to anything. Because of this, the outdoor unit begun to shift and fall off of the pump ups. I called Ramesh to come back and repair the work, and he told me that someone must have knocked it off, and he refused to fix his shoddy work. He also told me that screws were not necessary, and that the glue he placed was sufficient. I showed him the screw holes on the feet, and he said that those are not screw holes.... huh?? I am now filing a complaint with the DLLR/HVACR against this contractor who is, in my opinion, not honest and does not stand behind his work. Update: Ramesh is now threatening legal action against me for slander.

    Ramesh's customer service and troubleshooting is A1!!! Wednesday, April 28 was our first true hot day of the season at 88 degrees. All day I had my windows and doors to my house open in attempts to catch any outside breezes. Toward late afternoon, it became muggy inside my house. I switched my Nest thermostat to Heat/Cool from Heat. I heard the fan turn on and I felt cool air for a couple of minutes. Not noticing right away the cool air stopped by way of the fan turning off, I went to my Nest app to turn down the temperature, which I did a couple more times thinking my house's inside temperature may not be that high causing the thermostat not to turn the A/C on. 5 minutes later, I check my Nest thermostat and noticed I'm getting a weird picture on the screen and an error code. Anyone who is a home owner knows, "If it's not one thing, it's another." A saying I've always heard in my house when I was younger. I googled the error code to find out it is associated with the Y1 wire receiving too much current. I went through all the Nest troubleshooting steps on the website and did not find a solution. I also read several forums stating the issue was a bad contactor, which I thought was the point of contact between the wire and the Nest board. I take pride in my troubleshooting ability and willingness to not only learn, but solve problems. This problem definitely was stumping me and I was not comfortable messing around with my A/C unit outside. I always take my time to find a professional in a specific area of expertise, and I always read the reviews on Yelp! This time was no exception. I finally came across R&M Air Control. I specifically searched for reviews that mentioned smart thermostats. This helped ease my mind in the event the technician couldn't find fault in my system and simply put blame on a faulty thermostat. My family and I suffered through the night with all the windows open and bedroom fans on high. Thursday morning, I called Ramesh around 9a. He answered, I provided the issue in detail, and he requested I send him pictures of my thermostat, A/C, and drainage. He mentioned it may be a drainage block up causing the system to shut off. His suggestion was to call Nest as well. I sent the pictures and called Nest customer service. Nest was helpful and willing to help troubleshoot, but ultimately told me to call an A/C technician because it was my Y1 wire. I called Ramesh back and he said he could come say day around 8p or Friday around 3p. I could not foresee another hot night in my future, so I emphatically said, "8p works if you are willing to come out!" Ramesh came early around 6p with another technician. They both wore masks. He looked at my thermostat and said it's probably the internal battery. 1. I didn't know the thermostat had an internal battery. 2. In my research, this did not come up as a problem or solution. I was skeptical immediately. The two gentlemen troubleshooted my A/C system from the thermostat wiring to by pass the thermostat and successfully turn the system on. We know it's not the system per se. They went in my basement, tested the wires to find out the amps to the Y wire was very high. They went outside to my A/C unit, removed the cover, and continued troubleshooting. This all happened within 20 minutes. All the while outside, I was talking to my next door neighbor. Another 10 minutes Ramesh was putting on a new contactor, which was causing the issue. Power was turned back on, and the A/C was working perfectly! Ramesh and R&M Air Control has earned my respect and will be my go-to moving forward!

Before every appointment, they send a text with the tech's name, photo, and even a little bio including their hobbies. It's like getting a match on a dating app, only this time the person actually shows up and fixes the problem instead of ghosting you. The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing. They made an unpleasant situation downright educational and pleasant -- and that's a rare gift.

He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and treated me as if I were family.
