I reached out to Kevin from HKH Services at 7:30pm when my HVAC suddenly stopped working on a cold night. Not only did Kevin answer my call, he was able to visit my home within an hour to troubleshoot my system. Kevin was the ultimate professional. I hired him through Yelp and was fortunate to have found him. I had hired a handyman the week before for what he said was an electrical job he could handle but when things got too complicated for him we stopped him and had to hire an electrician. It took Kevin more time than anticipated to fix the mess the handyman had made, but he called in a helper and they both stayed until the job was done - until near 10:00pm on a Saturday! the worst handyman ive ever encountered. incompetent, inaccessible, and unprofessional.

In the midst of putting up Christmas decorations, we realized one of our outdoor electrical outlets was not working. Not an urgent matter by any means, but we decided to send out a request for quote via Yelp to see who might be available to come through sometime this week. Within minutes, I received a message from Kevin (owner of HKH) with his contact information and letting me know I should feel free to reach out to discuss the outlet and cost. I received a number of other quotes from other electricians in the area, all of which were around the same total price and who said they could come in some time this week. The next morning, I decided to call Kevin to see if it would be any different with HKH. Kevin answered on my first try. He ran me through the possible things that could be wrong with the outlet, provided me with a range of costs depending on what the issue was, and said that he was available to come by that same day or whenever was good for me and my wife. Kevin did end up coming that same day. He triaged the outlet, and confirmed it was nothing more serious than replacing the equipment and waterproofing it properly. He quoted us an amount that was noticeably less than anyone else, and said he could finish the matter the same day if we wanted. We indicated that would be our preference if he was available, as it was already 4:30 PM ET. He left to handle a different appointment, and then came back just an hour and a half later at around 6:00 PM ET. He spent an hour or so in the dark and in 30* F temperatures finishing our outlet for us. In the end, the total cost we paid was less than what we were being quoted by anyone else. I highly recommend Kevin to anyone who is looking for a straight shooter, down to earth, and responsive professional. No glamour or glitz, just getting the job done and doing it well. We ended up inviting him in for some hot cocoa, and he was excellent company as well. We will be using Kevin again for any future electrician needs. read more
